Credit report company told me to call 180091688100, the voice machine answered : get a pen and write new number 101 5158000, she repeated that number 3 times.
Good thing I googled before to make a call!

I opened my phone bill this morning and noticed it was significantly higher than normal.  Upon a closer look I discovered a charge of $39.95 MONTHLY FEE and it was for OAN SERVICES, INC>  with an 800-944-9646 number to call for any questions regarding the charges. After taxes the total was $42.35. I am furious! I will contact my carrier Monday morning with a complaint and go from there.  Hope they will take this off my bill!

As of January 2, 2012 this 800-716-7994 number is still active.  I reached it when I mistakenly dialed 800 instead of 888 to validate a Best Buy gift card.  An automated voice stated the number had changed and that I would receive a text with a new number to call.  My phone was sent a text message from 25434 giving me options to reply for # Info Svc.  Understanding this was probably a scam I did not reply.  Dialing the correct 888-716-7994 number gave me the Best Buy gift card program.

I believe you can ask your phone company to keep long distance and such charges separate from you local phone bill. So that may stop it from getting tacked on.

I tried to order something from a UK company. It had a terrific return policy, but when I called their 800 cust. serv. number for help ordering. It gave me this 10-15-15-8000 to call, stating the phone company would probably bill as Nevada Directory assistance. I checked with my phone company about the number and found out about a lot of bad stories like this. Thank God they didn't get my credit card number or my cell at least. Guess I got off lucky.

I don't remember receiving a phone call, but SNAC Auto Club put a charge of $34.96 on my Discover card that I don't think I purchased anything. When I called the 800 number, an automated answer referred me to a new number 101-515-8000 or a website calling10.com. I went to that site and saw all the people talking about a scam, so I didn't want to dial the number. Discover said they will check on it for me.

these 800 numbers are the numbers people are given to call and cancel a subscription they did not subscribe to, I know because I am one of them. so when you call to find out why you are getting billed monthly for never receiving or ordering anything, you are told to call that international number.  What would you have people do to get this monthly charge off there credfit cards if they can not get in touch with who is charging them. YOU ARE A TOTAL FRAUD working for that company
your company is a fraud

you are wrong, it has nothing to do with the phone company. I got a charge for the past 2 months on my credit card for a subscription to free shipping online, I have not ordered anything online or anywhere.  the bill had an 800 number to call, when I call it, I was told to call there new international number 10 15 15 8000, which I did not call because it was an international call.  so your company must be posing as alot of other businesses if you all have the same phone number. I disputed this with my credit card company and got my money back

I also had the same thing happen to me. I have no idea what this intercollect inc is. They charged my account for 139.99. I disputed it with my bank, The same phone reference was there and when I called the number, the telephone automatically hung up.
This has got to be a scam. I am terribly sorry for anyone that has to deal with this. It is a pain!  Not only that, I have to now change all of my account numbers. ARGH!!!
All I have to say is STOP IT, whoever you are, go get a real job and quit leeching off of hard working americans! I have two children who rely on me for support and I cannot afford to be waisting my time disputing fraud.

Reading through the complaints I saw a reference to an article in the Press of Atlantic City... although the link came up '404 not found', I did find it and posted below.. FYI.

Wondering though how this OAN/ILD scam is still in business... may be that's how this other scammer Patrick J Hines came into the picture.

http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/settleme ... ne-charges.html

Atlantic City, NJ: (Mar-16-08) The Federal Trade Commission brought a lawsuit against BSG Clearing Solutions North America LLC, ACI Billing Services Inc. doing business as OAN, and Billing Concepts Inc., alleging that they charged their customers unauthorized charges on their phone bills. FTC sources stated that the three related companies control more than 85% of the billing aggregation market, in which aggregators liaise with local telephone companies to bill on behalf of third parties. The suit was filed after the commission received scores of complaints from customers who accused OAN, and other billers, of defrauding consumers of more than $30 million in bogus collect call charges.

As part of a settlement reached, the FTC announced that OAN and the two other companies agreed to $1.9 million for consumer redress, resolving allegations. Additionally, as per the terms of the agreement, Willoughby Farr, the owner of the Nationwide companies, which used OAN and other billers to bilk consumers, agreed to a lifetime ban on telephone billing. I mistakenly called 800-832-2414 from my cell phone and a recording said I would get a text message... oops.. I did get the text, immediately figured something was wrong.

Rechecking my numbers, figured out that I was one number off. However, I called 2414 back on my land line to see what the text reply to the phone call was all about, blocking my number, as I figured my earlier mistake has now given these characters my cell number. I got a different recording that gave another number to call, strange they break it up unlike a telephone number 10-15-15-8000.

I googled that number to find these scamerama reports from January 2011 going back to 2007. Every one of them complaining about fraudulent or otherwise  unauthorized charges to their phone bill.

Attempted to call AOL at 1-800-827-6364 to take care of a billing problem.  On dialing that number, I was met by a recording saying that I should call 101-515-8000, which I have since discovered is a scammer number,  I talked to no one at that number and my next call to AOL was sucessful.  I attempted to call my phone provider but, this being Saturday, I was unsucessful.  I will try that call again on monday but, ultimately, I suppose I can only wait to see what my next billing says.

Fraudulant "ILD Teleservices" billing received on my Oct. 17, 2009 AT&T phone bill for "DIR ASSIST" call to 101 515-8000 "on Behalf of CALLING 10 15 15 800."  Interesting that a former employee of the scam company "ILD" wrote in to this site the (only 'supporting') comment for the scam company--Please, sir (Joe, Aug. 14, 2008 entry on pg. 1) dare to report the whereabouts/information on this 'company' to the authorities--or better yet, also on this site.  I suspect you got ripped off as an employee of such a rip off company as that--why don't you get back at them!

The thing to know is that this scam uses (and abuses) legitimate 800 numbers.  Somehow it hijacks them.  I got through to the desired 800 number the third time I dialed it.  The businesses are as much a victim as the callers.
