I have no idea who this is.

I got the same call.  Claimed he was with Microsoft Certified Support and asked me to go to ammyy.com as my computer was infected with some virus.  He had the computer name.  I updated my antivirus software and hung up on the guy.  Sounded like he was calling from a large call center.  I could hear several others with Indian accents giving the same pitch.

Same as the others. He stated that I had problems in my files. He said I had a virous and he was
with Microsoft provideing a service call. There was such a loud ecko of feedback of my voice that ,
he got upset and hung up after I told him I thought he was full of crap.

By the by if your phone is on the donotcall.gov list file a complaint. It should get back to Microsoft and this scam should eventually be put down. But then another will rise in its stead.

Got a call this morning from 105-214-7252 man with heavy India accent said he was Microsoft Certification something. Was half asleep. Said my computer was reported spewing virus all over the Internet and was I aware. I asked which computer, he couldn't tell me. I asked which version of the OS was the computer running, being Microsoft he should know, he couldn't tell me. He said he had the IP address, and gave me some bogus 198.68 number. So I asked who's the provider for that IP address. He couldn't tell me, kept saying was I aware. Well after over 30 years in the computer industry and having been around at the birth of PCs & Macs of course I'm aware of the protections set up for our inhome network. Duh! So I said you know I don't believe you and I think this is a scam.... *click* he hung up. I thought so.

I answered the call and heard someone say hello, but he didn't seem to hear me.  There was a lot of background noise that sounded like kids.  With calls like this I enjoy asking the person to hold and see how long it takes for him/her to hang up.

Same number as others reported, however, I did not answer the call since area code 105 is not a valid area code. Looks like another scam to me.

I received the exact (verbatim of the above post) same call this moring and the man had a heavy accent and was demanding that I go directly to my computer and he would lead me through the steps to show me the virus' and then get rid of them.  I immediately hung up.

A man called me purporting to be from Microsoft Tech support, saying they were receiving reports I had a virus.  The man wanted me to go to a specific website which they could then help me.  I asked him for his number & he gave me a phone number that actually belongs to the California Dept of Health Services.  After putting him on hold several times, he hung up.  BUT, my caller ID picked up his number as (105) 214-7252.
