This is a call from the FCC (yes - he claimed to be from the Federal Communications Commission) to tell me they are putting my number on the do not call list.  He seemed to already know my name somehow.  After I told him I didn't believe he was from the FCC, he said he would prove it by buying my phone number - that's when I hung up.

Got a call from 1052508075.  The initially spoke with my kid and asked for some verification code. They called 10 times, first it was a lady with a strong Indian accent, I told her that I am on the FCC list and not to bother us, she kept calling us and I kept hagging up.  Next it was her Supervisor "Richard"  asked him for his last name he then said his last name was Richard and first name was John, he then spelled it and could not spell Richard correctly - he spelled it as Reachered.  I asked him to give me a number and will call back.  He said his number was 1 888 225 5322.  The number is the FCC number, however does not go to Richard or anyone.
Minutes later got the call from Richard again , this time he was angry and started shouting at me saying "How dare you hang up a call from Government .. Blah Blah"  I shouted back and told him to stop calling else will call the cops on him. He never called back.  Not sure what the code was and why they need to it to be verified.

I got call from "Jack" 105-250-8075. Same script. Next I got call from CraigsList with some code. Next "Jack" called me 5 times and asked me for code. I did not give him and I suggest you do not pickup call in the first place. How to block 105 numbers? Do not know where is this area code.

Do not Fall for this.

They trick you in to giving 5 digit code for their craigslist posting.

These people are NOT FCC, Bunch of scammers.

I received a similar call from 105-250-6832. He identified himself as Wilson Robert from FCC and used almost the script. Sensing a scam in the making, I hung-up.
The perpretrator had the audacity to call right back and tell me that i've an attitude. Is there anyway to stop these scamsters?

Claims to be from FCC to add to the do not call list. To verify this he claimed his supervisor will call me and give a code. He would then call later and retrieve the code. I decided to play along to see what this was about.

Sure enough received a call - not from an FCC supervisor - but from Craigslist with a code. And shortly thereafter he called again to retrieve the number from me.

craigslist now has added a telephone call and a code to accept postings. His number was probably black listed and therefore was trying to get his posting through  a white listed number such as mine.

Filed a complaint with FCC. For verification, the numbers he gave matched the FCC main number (1-888-225-5322) and FCC address. The name he gave was "Jackson Eric" with "OIG" as his operator identification.

This is a call apparently from Craig's List to tell me they are putting my number on a do not call list.
Guaranteed scam.
Craig's List uses phone callbacks to verify postings - and this guy is trying to get a posting in - using my phone number as the verification!
