Over the past several weeks I haven't an enormous amount of texts from this number. The message is just a series of of numbers and letters. I need it to stop. Come through at all and is really and irritating.

Angi S 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
The words STOP, QUIT, CANCEL, and UNSUBSCRIBE, don't work! I've tried them all. I feel pretty helpless with this problem! HELP!!!
Kaysue 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
That may work for those who are having the problem because of getting a new phone and using the old sim card, but I have had my phone now for 2 years and just this week I have been getting these stupid text messages. It is a good thing that I have unlimited texts or I would be angry.
CAM 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
I figured out the problem!!!!!!! Put your SIM CARD BACK IN YOUR OLD PHONE AND CANCEL ALL EMAIL UPDATES OR MMS ACCOUNTS. Then put it back in your new hone. The SIM card is trying to pull you r email message through the old mail system and that's why you get garbled messages.

I just started getting these, I received about 10 of them today. I don't have xpress mail or anything from AT&T, in fact I use a Tracfone. I don't know what to do about this...there should be a law against this or something because it's definitely a form of harassment.
Steven 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
It is AT&T's bu***hit program, Xpress Mail.
jm 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
is this only an at&t thing cuz i noticed alot of people from at&t getting it. im getting it and i have the e71x from at&t as well.

John 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
i'm receiving 10-30 messages from this sender per day! (text messages) with useless text
jeremy 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
i have a nokia e71x with at&t wireless and i started getting these text messages from 111148700 after i had reset my phone. before the reset i was using at&t's xpress mail on the phone. i got these messages between the time of my reset and the time i set my xpress mail service up again on the phone. i think these texts are email notifications that are supposed to be picked up by xpress mail.
i had a similar situation one other time when i was normally using an iphone but put my sim card into another phone. while using a different phone than the iphone, i would get random text messages from a really long number... it was like 100000000 or something. anyway, i figured out those text messages weren't actually text messages, they were related to the iphone's visual voice mail feature and showed up on another phone as text messages instead of as voice mail notifications on the iphone.
hope this helps!

Hey Jeremy,
Your theory is right... I also have a e71x from at&t using xpress mail. The amount of text messages from 1 111-148-7000 reflects the email received after i forced it to sync.
I don't have a fix, but at least i know what the cause of the problem. Thanks for your comments!

when I called tech support, he didn't know what the source was but advised me to reply "stop" or "cancel".
now let"s see what happens...
Jennifer 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
I keep getting text messages from this number. AT&T states it is a third party - whatever that means.
Ben Hines 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
I have been getting large amounts of texts daily for the last 3 weeks.
HandiCripple 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
Same same. Text messages out the a** from the 1111487000 number, the message being a garbled Mesa that I'm only guessing is some sort of malicious hacker/cracker bu***hit. I just got a new sim card for my iPhone 3G. It's actually a loaner from Best Buy, but between the "new" iPhone and the new aim card, something's a bit funky here. And yes, it's pretty f***ing agrivating. I'll post any further info I can find.

I am having the same problem. Today alone I have received 55 of these annoying messages. I p;an on calling AT&T and getting a credit for my text messages.
Arctic 2011-05-31 22:31:53 Unknown
I just started getting them on 10/2/09. I have ATT Wireless and a Samsung Blackjack in which I use XPressmail to sync with phone. Never had this problem before.

I've been receiving them every since I purchased my Nokia E71X. This is crazy!
Cat pee 2010-09-12 09:33:23 Unknown
I work in an animal shelter, and have for some time now, and I never thought that a cat would PEE ON MY PHONE, but they did. Luckily AT&T screwed up in their shipping and sent me two of my phone, so I had a back up. But ever since I switched I keep getting stupid texts from this number. But I have since noticed a correlation between it and my email. The issue I have is that I don'y know how to uninstall xpress mail, and I am trying to install the new email service that is supposed to take over in a month, but their stupid media mall has been "down for maintenance" almost all day so I can't, and it won't let me just update the stupid xpress mail.
I have had at&t for over half a decade, since they were cingular, but this is by far the stupidest function I have ever come across, maybe if the text read somewhat like the email, but I don't speak AT&T EWOK!!! Just make it stop...the incesant beeping...I'm going to give them something to beep about...

I've been getting them for months. I've had the same number for almost a decade and I'm not changing it, and I've been with AT&T since before they were Cingular and I'm not changing THAT. I started getting them on my Nokia E71x, gave that phone to my husband and switched to Pantech Matrix, then HTC Aria, then a replacement for the HTC Aria. You'd think if it was an ExpressMail thing (which I've seen mentioned on the AT&T site) that it wouldn't follow me to phones that don't have Express Mail. Also, I never signed up for that. It can't be a phone thing, because we're all using different phones, and my husband (still using the Nokia) is NOT getting them. I get at least 20 a day. Has anyone figured anything out? I REALLY don't want to sit on the phone with AT&T.

It has everything to do with xpress mail. My nokia e71x broke and I had to reset it and get a new one. The day I got the new one these messages started coming in, 1 every 10 to 15 minutes. What I realized is they were coming in at about the same time I would get an e-mail from work, which in most cases would have gone straight to my xpress e-mail account. The second I set up the e-mail on my new nokia, the messages stopped.

I was getting these random, junk texts from this # (111-148-7000). It stoppped. Later I started getting them again. I didn't realize the correlation between getting and not getting these texts until I read some of the posts here. I believe it has something to do with xpress mail, because after reading some of the posts here I realized that with xpress mail unactivated or uninstalled I don't get these messages.
Sunny 2010-05-26 15:47:29 Unknown
think of all the text as email notifications. when u get the text. check ur email. it matches up... sooo log in and change ur number
Sunny 2010-05-26 15:46:29 Unknown
This happens because you signed up for xpress mail on a past phone that you dont have now. log in to the website look it up and change the phone number settings.
