how does it work? what websites help hide name or real number?

Got a text from same # just out to get your info beware

I just got a call from 1210100001 frmtxt@txtme.com and a bunch of hacker type of code now what

210-100-001 said i and about 20 other numbers they forwarded to me just won a trip for 4 all i have to do is click the link.  Yeah right!

I received an unsolicited text message, as follows, from:  1(210)100-001   (This number shows up
where the sender's/contact's name normally appears on my i-Phone-3. appears on both the Message List screen and the opened message screen, itself.)

(Number copied as shown in the message, except there it is Underlined and Colored Blue, as if it were a Link. When this number/link is touched, my phone automatically goes to the 'calling' screen and dials. I have not allowed the call be completed.)

they apparently want your email addy so they can spam you

I have no friggin idea what this is other than a scam!

Received a 4 page text from this number with nothing readable.  It was full of codes.  No idea how my number was received by the sender.  I keep my alternate number private.  Could be random text, but unsure.

message said you must claim your comp tickets.  

I got a message from this number saying I won a cruise vacation for two people but I'm too young to go anywhere by myself... it gave me another number that has the area code of florida but I dobt believe it.

Because this is not a real number. My Lumia's built in call+SMS blocking software will not let me block it. Why do these people want to annoy us so badly? There has got to be something people can do to fix it.

My kid just got a text from this number with some valentine scam. Calling ATT in the morning. Thankfully she knew to tell me before opening anything.

got a text from this number, I almost never give out this number so now I'm wondering if it was texted randomly or if someone gave my number to this guy.  text says:
"FRM: ReginaldSchafferf@yahoo.com MSG: Sea getaway!! you just won Call: nine=5=4=5=4=1=eight=4=3=three"
Like who in their right mind would think that's legit?  Buzz off and stop wasting my texts. I have an iPhone so I just added the number to my blocked call list.  hopefully that'll take care of it.

I also added a motorcycle along with my camper on craigslist. On April 15th I received few texts from a Gelbieg234@gmail.com asking what my firm price was when it clearly states a price and OBO and tells me couple times to 'Kindly get back to me at:

On craigslist post it asks to check box if want other companies to contact me, I never checked that box so why are these creeps scammers contacting me?

My husband too gets text and calls from numbers like this. To my best knowledge it's a SMS or text letting them know they have a call email or text going straight to their device without having to risk letting others know from where. My experience is dating or craigslist sites. All men are cheating no good pieces of --- you know . Wish they were as honest as us ladies.

This number 1 (210) 100-001 was used by my local grocer (showed their ID) to notify me that my deli meat order was ready for pickup. Not all are scams is my message.
I only found this forum because I have been repeatedly receiving a blank message from +1 (1) (216) 116-11 after I reply to a friend. So I Googled it and found out about this forum among others. So I will do what the other forum consensus suggested. Deleting my contact in total and re-entering the data without a +1 should take care of that issue. I don't usually put in the +1 number so must be my mistake. If it still happens, I will suggest to my friend that she should do it.

This isn't a phone number.  It's the serial number of an evil toaster somewhere that somehow got connected to the Internet instead of the power mains.

Area codes start at 201. 121 is less than 201.  The next three digits start at 200.  010 is less than 200.

Ergo, this is a toaster's serial number, not a phone number.  And it's an evil toaster at that.  Q.E.D.

I just got the same Beer Logo one except mine was $500! Funny thing is that I had just signed up with a legitimate company that actually will pay you for that. Just not that well!
