I received a text from 0400991963 saying to quote ref no DN102290729. I won't be calling them.

Mine was an "important message" but the quoted name wasn't me.  Probably a wrong number - I get a few of those.

Strange....I called the 1300 number back and they said they were a technology company????

Yeah ARL a debt collection place, same thing, very rude and wanting personal details before they will tell me anything. Finally got out of them after the 5th call that it was regarding lumo energy so I called them and turned out they had sent my final bill to the wrong address. Still getting calls from them weeks later though.

Yeah idk about you guys, but I am literally sick to death of this un-profession outdated, harrassing credit collection process here in Australia, now if a bill isn't paid, usually its because things are bad and the company in Question didnt offer a payment plan or similar, Receiving 46 calls in a month asking for  sometimes 100-200 worth of debt that was most likely purchased dubiously .. is a crime in itself, these callers are invasive, rude and sometimes Quite suprisingly self-righteous, the ironic thing is I personally know people in the D&B call center that actually owe money to the company they work for!

And the other sad thing is the fact that the collection agency only pays 10c/$ for debt ... so therefore the 150$ they are demanding from you .... they purchased off the retailer for 15$, how many people out there would hand over 20$ to a creditor in order to forgo a barrage of harassing phone calls?

Yet this never seems to be an option .... companies in australia would rather cause a storm that creates a negative image against themselves.

I received an SMS from +61409371003 and it goes as follows
ARL; Pplease contact Australian Receivables Ltd regarding an urgent business matter on 1300 303 856 quote Ref BLABLABLABLA.

When i try to call this number all i get is 2 rings and then it hangs up!

I thought it was suss also,all i wanted was for them to tell me something about me before i would give them my details, no,no,no,no i got their number and phd them back.As soon as i told them my name and new address they told me the rest of my details. A $50 unpaid bill sent to the wrong address.

According to my internet research, they are a debt collection agency.....suspect it relates to an unpaid utility bill....that was only unpaid as they never sent it to the correct address. So to those that have also received calls, may be worth you investigating further.

Got a call from this number, claiming to be "Australian Receivables Limited", were incredibly rude. i wouldn't provide my details, and I explained why - I wasn't expecting their call, and they called me on an unlisted number, so I had no way of knowing who they said they were. She said she had my personal information in front of her, so I needed to give it to her to proceed, that she needed it under the privacy act. I explained that for my security and privacy reasons....blah blah. She said there was no other way to proceed. I said "no, the alternative is for you to provide me with your contact number, after I perform research to verify your legitimacy I call YOU back and then I will be willing to release my private information". To which she responded "or I could give you a number to call us on". "Yes, that's exactly what I just suggested to you"  SHEESH!!!!

They called and asked to call back at this with a reference. wtf? they looking for the guy who i got the phone from. i ask for any details and they say they are bound by the privacy act. I tell them the guy is gone but they have to keep calling me.

I got a call from this number, they didnt leave a message just a number and reference number.....no idea who it even was...

i have been receiving calls from this number randomly for almost 2 years. they leave a reference number and tell me to call back on this number. they also say that they have sent me letters and also that i have left a message on there answering machine last year ago! bull s**t.
