recieved a call every day since buying my phone from the number 1300368012  and i answer it and they ask for a person and i say who and they hang up ...some times indian accents ... why are they calling are they scammers or something ????

Call me 100 time already stating he's from City Bank Australia. I called City bank Australia back 3 time to confirm and its confirmed that i've got nothing to do with them. Dodgy.

Getting these calls every day on my private number.

All Indians with names like "Kevin McDonald" attempting to put on American accents. All of them calling for my uncle (who doesnt even know this number) claiming its for a business issue.

How they got my uncles real birth name and my number is very odd. Nobody even knows we are related (different surname) and my number is private and unlisted and has never been given to anyone but immediate family, yet they call every day without fail.

Yeah same we have had 4 calls in the last 2 days saying the same thing asking to speak to my husband when i said i could help they told me to get written authorization with my husbands signature and then they could talk to me sounds like a big scam as they couldn't even say what it was to do with only that is was a personal business matter very very frustrating wish they would go annoy someone else...

I received a call from this number yesterday afternoon.  An indian man whom I could not understand aside from the phone number as he read it out 5 times!  Sounded like he was from Global Vantage & said he needed to speak to me about a 'personal business matter'.  Like I'm going to call back.

"various financial business matters"  - I don't have a business
"give me all your details including bank details and I will find the problem for you" - sounds like a nigerian scam

The above are two very often said quotes to me.  
They also refused to give their first name, their business name and what they do.

"We're Americans, but we're based in India" - another brilliant piece of work by these pixies!

Needless to say I've been spinning them some bullsh*t, but ringing the Federal Police was NOT a lie! :)

My friend received a call from AEGIS BPO Services Limited Mike Dawson 1300 368 012 last night asking to speak with me. They knew his name & number and they knew my name but not my number. I have contacted there Sydney Australia office and they don't have anyone by that name. Also there is nothing linking myself with my friend.

wouldn't say the name of the business again after she mumbled it horribly,

she said that she called the other day and no one called her back,
I work in a b2b capacity and its annoying spammers like this that make work hard for people who do this job with integrity.

Call from "Austin" at Global Vantage (or GlobalVantedge) - asking to speak to me about confidential financial business (dodgy sounding so I said I wasn't home). Google search reveals Global Vantage may be financial scammers.

I get the same call EVERY DAY on my mobile. It's always from a private number, it takes them 5-10 seconds to say anything after I say hello. Often they hang up before speaking. Either indian accents or very bad american accents. They have my name and number and i refuse to give them date of birth or any other private info. When I asked last time for their number they gave 1300368012 and said from Aegis in financial services. The nsw police have been informed that i've been getting nuisance calls. They are investigating.

I work at an accounting firm and have had a call from a Michael Phillips from Aegis BPO Services Limited asking for a client. I only write this company name as I've seen it in a previous post. He rattled it off so fast and with an accent I could barely understand (sorry to say, Indian). I asked him to repeat it and spell it (as I have to with most people with an accent) but he never slowed nor spelt it.  I was skeptical about the phone call so I googled the phone number left - 1300 368 012 and it came up with this site.  Definitely sounds dodgy, I will not be passing along this one to my boss.

Received call from Shelley Lawrence of Asia's AEGIS claiming 'confidential business to discuss from a past matter'.  Seriously dodgy.  I asked for her to prove her identity and suggested she write a letter detailing the issue.  She declined!

Had a message left on my phone today regarding a private business matter for someone with the same surname as myself but a different christian name ( coincidentally one of my uncles names). He said his name was Marcus Miller and he had a heavy accent. He left a reference number and told me not to ignore the phone call as it was a documented attempt to contact me and to contact him asap. I originally received similar phone calls just over a year ago but ignored them. I will be reporting this to scamwatch.  I know that i have no outstanding debts so it sounds like a scam. Beware.

got a call the other day from "Brandon" with a crap American accent. They got my mobile number by tricking my elderly and very sick mother on her home number. I haven't lived at home for over 10 years!!!. These guys are dogs!! They call me all the time between 2.30 and 5.30 pm. calling the police won't work, I am a policeman and the mobile phone number they call me on is a police owned number, doesn't stop these scumbags from calling back. Tip to everyone on here, get a whistle, and blow it when you know its them. I did that about a week ago and the calls have slowed down from daily to first one in a fortnight. I gave Brandon a dose of the Whistle the other day. Only found out about this web page today, Anyone had any success in screwing with these guys. Maybe start posting their 1300 368012  for people to start pranking them.

same as everyone else.. they called my mobile and my mother's in a different state looking for me. have done for the last 3 months, every day. HAD ENOUGH!!! can't get rid of them..something isn't right about their  accents, and the so called information of mine they need to get confirmation of.. NOT A CHANCE...i hope these people get shut down, they are driving us crazy..

Had a similar message on my answering machine a few days ago. I was on holidays and didn't want to bother with it. It did sound sus at the time not identifying where they were ringing from ,etc.
Today I actually wrote down the details thinking I'd better through and see what it was about. I thought I'd google the number, and glad I did. I wonder why Telstra have not shut that number down???? Will follow-up on that!!

(Like I'm gonna put my real name here - this site could be from the very guys I'm talking about for all I know!)

I've deduced this is a crap-call because of the same story over and over - I've been receiving calls every weekday between 12-2pm from "Private" according to my phone. The first time was an Indian accent stating info as mentioned in previous posts - he also got my first name wrong and asked me for my date of birth - I said I would not give him any personal details. He said "We have them, I just need to confirm"... NO. Then he stated my date of birth - completely wrong!
Now every day for the last month at least, they ring and I ignore the calls. Today a message was left "Sebastian Forest from Global Vantedge(?), ref number to quote, call back on 1300368012 and this is not a sales call" mmm mmm. Also - he got my first name wrong like the other call. "Sebastian" had an obviously faked American accent and was intently clearly spoken. I recall reading somewhere that these guys do special training for American accents to fool their recipients. An American with an underlying Asian or Emirates accent with an Australian number? Heck of a coincidence.
Anyway, there's no way I'll call back or answer any more of these calls. Apparently 'do not call lists' cannot catch these guys due to changing phone numbers (mainly American numbers from what I gather) and international jurisdiction issues.
If any company wants to legitimately contact me for a legitimate reason, then they can write. Until then, it's a fake as far as I'm concerned. Don't let the "e-age" fool anybody - it's still not legal unless it's in writing!

received a message on my phone from Eric Stiffer from what sounded like "Google Land Page" (very bad accent, possibly Eric was from India), wanting to speak to someone who was not resident at the called number about a confidential financial business.  Left a reference number (CCG2633) for the call and indicated that he would be available until 4.30 pm Sydney time.

Call from a John Watson on the answering machines - his voice was hard to understand - his message was that he needed to speak to us about a confidential business matter.

He didn't leave a organisation name - sounded fishy thought I would check the web and here we are - another scammer and someone who flouts the do not call number service

A man with an Indian accent left a message on my girlfriends answering machine today to call this number. He claimed to be from Global Vantage - which does not exist on Google search - and mumbled his name and gave a reference number to quote. He even got her first name wrong. Correct first letter though. Very dodgy.

This is from Australia, not sure where you fellows are from, but it seems to be a similar situation - a man with an Indian accent called my mobile asking for my Uncle, who is in no way connected to my mobile account, and said it was very important that he call and quote a reference number (24791).

Seems a bit off... Searched the number in google, and all that came up were two sites - this one, and another suggesting the call was a scam.

recieved a call from Glen James, said was from global "collecting agency". left a phone number: 1300 368 012.

suggested that they were collecting debt from another company. (Credit Corp Group). Glen james did not clarify any other details. and wanted to know further personal details.

Is there a service where we could check up on the authentity of such company? or at least let the australian police know of such telephone fraud.

I get the same calls, nearly everyday, did a google search and found all your comments.

Had someone by the name of Lisa Smith call my Auntys house looking for me under my maiden name, she sounded Indian and said she was from Global Vantage and that she needed to speak to me about financial services. I havn't lived with my aunty for the last 5 years, so it sounded very strange. My aunty gave her no information as she was very suspious about the the call but took down a return number including a reference. I called the number back not mentioning who i was or the reference number i had but as someone who had called the wrong number and was wondering who i contacted. The person i spoke to didn't want to give me any information other than they did financial services, i asked if they were home lenders or refinacers and he just kept saying we deal in financial services and wanted my details, i asked if they were debt collectors and he said something along those lines, very very strange, i have no debts to anyone and figured that this is just another scam be very careful with what you say to them they sound very dodgy.

Got a call at my parents place 1pm dec 24th asking for my sister said his name was kevin Taylor wanted to speak about a financial matter had a terrible accent probably indian (sister hasn't lived here for yonks) sounded fishy so I searched the next and found this page thanks to all who submit

Yep same here, my wife received a call from these guys and suggested I call them, quoting a reference number and everything. I Googled the name of the company 'Global Vantage', even tried Yellow Pages, and came up with bagel, so I typed in the phone number and it led me here. I would bet all that these guys are scammers... I'm not giving nuttin
