A suspicous recorded message asking for personal details.  The phone number diclosed was 0477301907 and the number for contact was  1300661114

I've had calls from this number several times in the past few weeks. I've just been on the phone to NAB and it is legitimate!

ITS NOT SO SIMPLE WHEN NAB CANT GET IT RIGHT!!!

THEY SENT ME A TEXT MESSAGE SAYING THAT PAYMENT FOR MY CREDIT CARD IS OVERDUE

NOW I HAD TO MAKE 101 PHONE CALLS TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT A SCAM BECAUSE I DONT EVEN HAVE A CREDIT CARD

NOT EVERYONE THAT HAS TO RING OR GET THIS MESSAGE IS OVERDUE ON BILLS

if the person called your home number, he/she will disclose calling from NAB but won't disclose the reason for the call if u r not the secondary account holder. It is to protect the privacy of the account. The return number is legit.

Had a call from this number this evening (came up as private).  Asked for MR. xxx (my husband), but would not say anything except it was a personal banking matter.  Asked when he would be there, but would not disclose the reason for the call or give me a name or disclose who she is calling on behalf of.  How can we tell if it is a legitimate caller from a bank or similar institution??

I work for the nab department that leaves this return number.

I had this call today, called back this number and the lady did not identify which NAB branch I had reached - only gave her name and said she was from NAB.  She also asked if she could start with my account number, told her I was not happy to give this over the phone, she then asked for the name of the a/c, she was calling for my hubby and refused to discuss details with me.  I told her hubby was away working and was unable to be contacted by phone and if she could post him a letter he could deal with it when he gets back, she would not confirm she would send it but said this was usually what happens when they can't contact people by phone.  She said she would make notes in his file.  I was concerned so I phoned NAB direct and they said this may be a scam, but could also be collections, as far as we are aware we have nothing with NAB in collections so I guess we will await the letter to confirm.

Very suspicious. I took a call from someone looking for my sister about an urgent matter with her bank account, but the person did not identify herself or the company she was calling from.  I called the number back and the first thing was a poorly reproduced message "your call may be recorded...". The person answered "hello?", which was a giveaway because you never get a person when you call a bank and they always answer with the company name before the greeting.  Also, the line was terrible, it sounded like a mobile.  I said I was returning their call and gave the reference number 1 and then they started asking for my details. I asked her to verify that she was from nab and then asked to speak to a manager, but she refused to put me through without taking my details.  I told her she was trying to scam me because I don't even have an account with nab.

the branch was talking s**t - it's a lgitimate nab phone number for collections....you'd be told to quote 1, 2 or 3 depending on the reason they're calling you.  next time, tell the branch to call collections to confirm...

not NAB...got it clarified from the real NAB..and if they say s**t like its something important dw because if it really is important they'll send a letter...b***h was saying we could simply resolve our problem over the phone or ud have to go to the branch...so i said f*** you i'll go to the branch..and when i went to the branch they told me theres no problem and that you should be aware of fruadulent phone calls around
