My phone kept dialing this number. Is this an alarm monitoring service?

We are apparently making 10-15 8 second calls to these people a month, at all hours! But when we dialled it to find out who they were we could only hear computer noises! Who are they?

I spoke to my phone provider and they said that it is part of my alarm monitoring service, but just to check that it was my security company and exactly how they use the calls. You can then turn it off if is not a valuable service for you.

Chubb tell me it is my alarm unit calling in once a week to confirm it is in working order. This can be reset to daily, weekly, fortnightly or even monthly, by the installer.
