I've also been scammed by apply club. Also don't believe anything Vodafone say. An article in the Herald Sun on April 6 2014 had Vodafone spokesperson, Karina Keisler, saying that thaey had asked Appy club to stop marketing to Vodafone customers. I've just noticed that I'm still getting billed from them. Vodafone, Telstra, Optus and other providers, take a cut from these low-lifes. That's why it"s on your Bill! If you want to find these scumbags, it's easy. The company trades as - 8Z PTY LIMITED. Go to ASIC home Page - choose - Organisation Business search. Choose - Current Company Information - and there you have it. It's a $9 but worth it , as it gives you all the info on the scumbags ripping you off!!

My number is with tpg. This scam is still happening as of 12/4/14. I cant believe no one has been able to stop this daylight robbery from happening. Never clicked on any ad or subscribed. when i emailed them, they provided some bogus ip address they claim i was signed up from, no where near me. Still receiving fees after unsubscription (they even sent a sms saying i was unsubscribed). Not seeing much recourse apart from changing numbers.

Telstra won't refund appy club charges but took responsibility to call them and disengage us from their parasitic billing. They get you with games like Edu Room on ipad (apple is at fault in this scam too) and I couldn't believe it when I saw an uncoil cited full screen "click here" come up during the game, if you inadvertently press again it says telstra will bill you, and they do... This is such a scam and the scam artists behind it are mo club or something, don't download eduroom it is the catalyst which gets this started...

Call 1300 886 534 for a full refund. They said they would refund me within 21 working days. They have been scamming me for 4 months now.
DANIEL 2013-11-25 02:55:56 Unknown
If this 1300886534 number steal $50 each from everyone per month and get away,
they will get rich in no time. Where is the legal system?????

Same proble as everyone else.
My question is: Why doesn't all the phone companies put a stop to this SCAM.
Alex 2013-11-09 00:23:37 Unknown
$30 credit disappeared from my mobile and I've not even used it once. I called Optus, they told me some 1900 advertizing company stealing credits. Optus refunded the credit but I hold Optus responsible for such fraud as they must provide security with products they sell.
lakeman 2013-11-06 11:44:58 Unknown
I used an android app called flashlight HD LED
If you mistakenly click on the adds you get subscribed to premium sms at $5 per month without a confirmation sms because you are doing it throgh the app store.
Sharp practice but fraudulent in my view.
Be warned
I solved it by calling my provider who instantly reversed the charges!
They must be sick of this companies practices

I received charges of $45.50, $36.40 & $55 over 3 months. I have never subscribed to this and having unsubscribed online and spoken to them, they promised to refund the money within 21 days. I have still received nothing. When I try to call them, they say all operators are busy and I have to leave a voicemail. They never call me back. I am reporting to Fair Trading now.

Just got off the phone to Optus in regard to this dodgy operation of MobileActive.
Had been charged for a service i have no knowledge of subscribing to.
Optus was left with no misunderstanding of how i feel about these underhanded operations.
The fellow at Optus asked me to hold the line while he contacted MobilActive and as a consequence all related charges were refunded.
I sensed the Optus assistant was not too supportive of my mention of reporting this mob to a higher authority.
Nevertheless I think we all need to make a lot of "noise" about this sort of stuff as no doubt there are many who pay their phone bill without to much checking.
I have since lodged an online complaint to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman

Just got the message at 3am last night that I had been subscribed to AppyClub. I have no knowledge of authorising this. The only thing I can think of is accidentally bumping an ad while using the iTorch app on my phone. Have used the unsubscribe function and received a text saying I am unsubscribed now, but am not sure I will still not be charged the initial $5 for 'signing up'. I do not understand how these sort of scamers keep getting away with it.

Hi,
Billed 45$ every month.Paid 164$ already vodafone said to call that 13oo number if they dont give refund then they will escalate it. Rip off and also think the service providers have a commission in it.

I just noticed that my wife's bill had all these extra charges on it . Same story no reply to phone calls to the 1300 number but I will call Vodafone and let them know about this crap in the morning . This is illegal ,as my wife closed the pop up and it still charged us . I'm not happy . Scam scam scam ..... That's all I can say.

8Z Pty Ltd are scammers and fraudsters. I have never contacted them or sent them any kind of text message, nor have I subscribed to any of their products. They billed me a total of $28.00 in August 2013. I queried this with Optus. They were nice enough to cancel the $28.00 fees and have now blocked this criminal organisation from debiting my Post Paid mobile account.
If you do not complain, they will keep on ripping you off.

Get your facts right! This scam is not through anyone entering their phone number on 'win a free ipad' or the like. These are through accidental clicking on ads on apps, just clicking, not entering anything or subscribing. As many have said - an advertisement on a flashlight app for example! pretty easy to accidently click an ad bar! it's dark for petes sake! Yes, I agree, anyone who enters their mobile number on those enter to win sites is darn silly and deserves the first charge as a wake up! However, this is a whole new way of mobile scamming, you don't do anything! a swipe in the wrong area on certain apps and poof SUBSCRIBED!

Hi Chuck;
I agree with your comments on 'responsible behavior'. However, scammers like MobilAppyClub don't give you an option to choose. This one just pops on your screen and does not give you an option to dis-agree with the offer from the club. Only option is to agree or close the pop-up. Either way, your subscription goes on and you start getting charges.
This is criminal and syphoning of money. There is nothing like responsible behavior in this. However, I appreciate help from Mehq to resolve this subject.
Varun 2013-08-12 02:33:55 Unknown
I fully agree with Mahq. You need a complaint reference number from service provider to lodge a complaint with Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman. I called my service provider to get a complaint number. In response, they agreed to waive off any charges from 19SMS Premium Services and also barred the numbers from calling/ texting my phone number.
Great help Mehq.

I called this number: there are 2 options. 1- All our operators are busy. leave your name and number and we will call you back. [Of course no one calls back]. 2- Enter the phone number to un-subscribe.
Tell me which part helps you or refunds your siphoned money?
Cheers

Mr Chuck,
I don't agree, I have never given permission for appy club or Vodafone to charge my account for something I didn't request. Vodafone charged my account, when I complained I was told they needed my password, which I couldn't remember so they said they couldn't deal with me, but they allowed some company to charge me money with out a password.
