I got a text from 1 (410) 000-003 telling me to call 1 (866) 206-1602 to verify information about my Capital One account. (I do not have any accounts with them). This is clearly a phishing attack. Beware!

this number came up on my husbands att bill.

these people texted me at 4:30 in the morning.. twice!

Just received a text from this number this morning saying that "Your Federal C.U. Balance fell to $-187.98 on 12/1/2012 at 4:32 PM ET.  Please contact us (Con't) 2 of 2 immeadiately 1.646.524.1304."  This has got to be a scam.  I don't belong to a credit union.

It is a total scam.

Saw a solution to this.  I am getting this crap too on my Iphone.  It's from Windows Live.  
Go to Settings > General>Reset>Reset All Settings.  Resets your settings.  Also might try turning phone off completely, then back on.

Their scam is to make you reply to the text message which then gives them permission to bill your cellphone monthly for whatever they want.

Usually when you signup for a service they will send you a text to confirm your signup.

This company is just sending the confirmation text for something you've never signed up for. They've gotten your login and password from some place. Once you click to tell them you never signed up, you've confirmed their email.

When you get something like this one of your logins somewhere has been compromised. Best thing to do to get these people to stop is go and change ALL your email and online logins. That's the only way to protect yourself.

You should change ALL your emails and logins once a month. Do it on the first so it becomes a habit. No pet's names. No kid's names. Use random words with at least one Capital Letter, two numbers spread throughout, and a punctuation mark (&%{}[], etc). Makes you pretty spam proof. But change the first day of each month.

Start checking your cellphone bill. By replying you gave them permission to charge you for lots of downloads. Report them to AT&T.

These numbers seem to be numbers a few email providers use to text you when the sender, send their message to your phone.  If you're getting spammed by this number, you need to be more protective with your number.  I know a lot of web sites have a spot for your number in their new account worksheets, MOST of the time that will be an optional field.  Never give your number to anything you don't trust

This text came in at 5 minutes to midnight. It's the same every time. I tried to block it with Smart Limits at AT&T, but it is not a complete phone number. I added a 0, I'll let you know if it works.
