My husband got a call while I was out of town advising I had agreed to a meeting. I had NOT!  Had done the phone survey over 12 months previously regarding income etc,  had them been bombarded with calls which we basically told to get lost.  Anyway hubby forgot this and believed I had agreed, and set up a meeting.
A guy came to the house last week, I advised had not agreed.  We went through with the meeting.  Company was called WIT, he put the pressure on and became very pissed off when we wouldn't agree there and then to a further meeting in the city.  They would come and pick us up and drop us back home.  Cost of $275 for day.  Even if legit the pressure was disgusting, condescending and rude!!! When we said would need time to think the guy made remarks like
If I told you I could give you $250000 cash would you make a commitment to an appt?  You may get turned down!  They deal in investment property and when I asked questions and gave a senario of tennant issues he said we don't deal in properties in your area!  Really nice!  I hot a pic of his car including registration number

Had the same call as soon I said I want their phone number and information so I could investigate them he wouldn't  give it to me. He lied about the date he said I spoke to them as I was out of the country. I ended up hanging up on them. Scam I suspect.

Called by "Information management services"  You completed a survey some time ago .....  Are you and your partner under 59 ?  Combined income around $80,000 ?  I am eligible for Government tax incentives.  When I asked what the incentives were they kept going on about someone coming to see me and giving me the information.  I hung up soon after.

I have just had a phone call from overseas no from a accented male of indian background I believe he was very pushy in telling me that they are not trying to sell anything or ask me to sign any documents. They are offering Tax savings and when i asked how he gets his income. he said he was paid by payless solutions in south melbourne. I then asked how do the staff from payless get paid he replied that i was 1 of 10 people selected for a free service to show how to pay of our home quicker with out increasing our income or repyments and people i refered to them would incurr a fee to recieve the same benifits that i was getting for free. I asked for the web address he gave me 2 and neither appeared on google which i told him he then replied that the web site is under repair. i told him to call back after the web site was working. will see what happens. These anoying companies need to be stopped.

Just had a call from Payless Solutions in South Melbourne. She claimed to be doing research that they do only every five years. She didn't get past the first question which was "Do you currently work?". I wanted to know who was conducting the survey. She got irate and said "I just told you I work for Payless Solutions - did you hear me say that?". Then I asked who hired them to do the survey. She asked me the survey question again. Very pushy! She hung up on me.

The guy who called me today said he was calling from Information Management Solutions in Albert St South Melbourne. In December 2013 they said they were Information Management Services. Fake business names and addresses. I told him to stop lying and stop scamming people and then hung up. I am also on the DoNotCall register.
Apparently they are affiliated with Infotronics Communication Private Limited in Chennai India, and ACMA has given this business warning notices. Does not do any good, they still keep at it. They appear to be attempting to generate leads for businesses in Australia. They are doing a poor job of it.
I had a similar call in February from a Phillipines call centre attempting to generate solar leads for Australia. They called themselves Solar Solutions. Fake name as it does not exist. I worked out this call centre got the contract from LogixPlus Consulting in India. I am not 100% sure. If they call again I might have to complain to them further.
These silly overseas call centres  now think they get around the Australian regulations with regards to telemarketing by attempting to generate leads for businesses in Australia.

I had a call from this person with the same story tonight.28/3/14. I'm also on the DNCR. I asked her what company she was from and she told me the Australian Information Research Centre. I asked her where the centre was based and who funded it and she avoided answering by saying she would only take 30 seconds of my time so I said "are you government funded" and she said we provide information to the government so I asked which government and she hung up.

Oh, I wish I'd been quick enough to read this site while "Tina" was on the phone just a few minutes ago. Yes, same deal as all the above. The two second delay at the start of the call is a giveaway. I told them I'd paid off my home loan (as if!) maybe that will get us off the hook.

My experience matches "VFR Boy".

The hook was that the company runs a survey every five years. Clearly a lie and deception.

I suspected it was a scam when Google returned nothing definite about such a company or its address. When the caller asked the value of my house and what mortgage I was paying was the point I told him no more questions and hung up.

I have a very good financial planner and accountant. These clowns can talk to the answering machine.

They are still at it.. when I answer the phone there is a second or two of silence then a ringing sound. Indian accent guy then starts with the super pushy spiel "20 seconds of your time" and straight in to "So are you employed full time?"

Hold on mate, who are you?

Any way, it's all in the posts above. I baited him for a while for the sport of it, eventually he got angry and started getting smartarsy with me. Baited him a bit more then hung up on him.

Made my night really :-)

I actually did business with  Reventon a couple of years ago. We purchased a property in QLD through them which at the time seemed like a great idea as the numbers just looked so good and the sales guys were super slick.  We recently tried to refinance the mortgage on it and the bank valued it $90,000 less than what we bought it for 2 YEARS AGO!  KEEP AWAY!!   If I had read this blog back then, this wouldn't have happened.

For six months from June 2013, I have received many calls from numbers that seem to be overseas, and the caller often did not come on the line, but eventually I received one from a man who actually spoke.  I have an unlisted number so I asked how he got my number but he couldn't say.  He said he was from a Government organisation doing market research, but his questions quite quickly confirmed this was not true. This became clearer when I found out from him that his organistion is based in SOUTH MELBOURNE.  I only persisted with his questions because I had tried to get my telco to find out who these harassing calls were coming from.  I gave the man all the answers I thought would be necessary for the company to want to call me back. The caller concluded by saying it looked like I qualified for some Tax Concessions .........

Last week, January 2014, I received a call from a female with a 'private' number showing in my Caller ID.  She said she was calling from Pay Less Solutions, a South Melbourne company, and it looked as if I had qualified for considerable tax concessions that they would like to speak with me about.  To be brief, I told her I didn't want a consultant to call, and would call them back, and she hesitantly gave me the following phone number:-  1800 360 252   I have called it and it is disconnected.

This is a sham company, and a sham practice.  AT BEST, it involves finding out if people earn just enough money to 'push' them into investing in property in Australia.  People who come to see you are paid hefty commissions, even if you don't buy anything, but they do all they can to cajole you into buying.  The company that sources the unlucky punters is paid a hefty commission, which is scaled up for those who eventually buy a property.

There has to be a way to stop these unethical people.  And I hope the poor hapless telemarketers in the Sub Continent go to bed each night dreaming about their deceit with regret, whilst I hope the Aussie sharks who prey on people who don't want to be disturbed, fail and go broke.

Just had a call from Payless Solutions. Similar story as others. As I do sometimes participate in genuine market research I sometimes am not sure who I am talking to. Was quite suspicious of this caller, also Indian accent, and kept asking who he is and where he is calling from. Gave some information or rather sort of confirmed information he had and then arranged to meet with one of their representatives on Monday night. Will see what happens. Am happy to call the police if they do turn up. I also had the manager come to the phone and like others before was surprised to hear this man, also with an Indian accent with the name Kevin Woods - Hmmm??? When I asked for a number I could contact them on they gave me 9001 0036. Not even happy to call it on the off chance that it will cost me a packet as I have heard some numbers are set up to do. Thanks to all of you for sharing your information.

2 December 2013.  Call from Information Contact Services in South Melbourne.  I did not give any information to them and the caller hung up on me when he realised I was googling the business name he had given me and that I wasn't going to be giving him any information.  My gosh these people have been running this scam for 2 years - Can't anything be done to shut these pests down?

I have had 2 calls from India saying that they are collecting Information for Info Marketing. I wasn't asked to meet any one the first time, the second time I wouldn't give any Information which really  upset the caller and she hung up.
I was concerned if they were fishing for who is home during the day as they asked me for my address and post code.

Just to alert people in WA - just had a second call today and I think one yesterday, Information(or Income) Management Services is what they are calling themselves at the moment.   I am always totally skeptical about these types of calls, but try to get as much information about them as I can. I absolutely never give them any information about me - neither confirm or deny anything that they may say.  They certainly get very agitated when you don't give them the answers they want and when you expect answers to your questions. (Can't cope going outside their script/idiot sheet). The intention is to imply that you  are the rude person, not them.  I work on the basis of trying to keep them on the line as long as possible - that way they have less opportunity of scamming someone else.  Unfortunately some of these people are getting wise and they hang up sooner rather than later.  My suggestion, if you don't know the person on the end of the phone line, then treat them like a total stranger that you randomly meet in the street - would you tell him all your financial and family details? Don't think so - so don't do it on the phone either - 100% chance that these people are out to rob you blind any way they can. Tell all your friends and family and make sure no one gets caught (especially the older people and the vulnerable people).  I loathe this sort of low life even more than the common garden type burglar - at least you know what you are dealing with.

Hello Julie here on 30/10/13. I wanted to confirm that the earlier post identifying these people as Infotronics with a Melbourne phone number of +61 03 9001.0036 is absolutely correct.

I received a call from "Mark" this afternoon, who claimed that he was from a company called "Payless Solutions". He claimed that had spoken to my husband about our financial situation - income and mortgage. He knew my husband's name and claimed to have spoke to him as in a survey. I thought this was all rather strange, as my husband hates surveys and never does them. I listened to "Mark" tell me about government tax incentives and how this could be used to our benefit to pay off our mortgage more quickly - in fact "Mark" said we could pay off the mortgage in half the time - utter garbage. Then he started talking about the Australian Bureau of Statistics information about people struggling on pensions in retirement.

I asked "Mark" for a phone number. He reluctantly gave me 1800.509.443 and said that it was usually busy so he would call me again for my convenience. I asked him where his company was based. He gave me this address:
21 Albert Street, South Melbourne.

After checking the blog here I rang the Melbourne number 9001.0036 and asked to be put through to "Mark". The receptionist had an Indian accent, "Mark" does not. "Mark" was there. My husband was home by this stage and we told him never to call again.

We had also received two calls previously from a woman with an Indian accent, saying that she wanted to speak to "working people". Both times I had hung up on this woman without speaking to her. After reading this blog I fell certain it was the same organisation.

"Mark" or who ever he is, had a better pitch, as he claimed to have spoken to my husband and knew his name. I therefore listened for a few minutes before deciding it was rubbish.

I wish the government would do something about shutting these people down, before they take unsuspecting innocents for their lifes' savings.

Had 2 calls so far from Mark from Info Contact Services (so he says).  The first time he asked to speak to my husband and knew his name.  When I replied that my husband wasn't home and asked who was calling, he hung up.  2 nights later the same guy "Mark" called again about the same time (7pm) and asked for my husband by name again.  I asked him why he hung up on me two nights ago?  No answer. This time I didn't say my husband wasn't home, I just asked who was calling and he said we recently took part in a survey we are now entitled to some taxation benefits.  He also knew our professions and guessed that we earned more than $70,000 each.  He then guessed our respective ages which wasn't quite correct.  I knew this was a dishonest attempt to make some money and they had done their homework somehow, so I just offered to get my husband to call him back.  No answer again ..... then he said he'll call back at a better time.  They seemed to have a small amount of information about us and then guessed a bit more.  They would probably be recording every phone call too to get more information.  Don't tell them anything - it's a scam.

Much the same story as everyone else here. Housemate had a call from IMS Research this afternoon 'not selling anything' just a quick survey on 'working families', housemate stopped answering when they asked about financial information and hung up on them. Called back 5 minutes later, my other housemate answered and told them she wasn't home. Ten minutes later another call, I answered, said my housemate was out and could I take a message. Said they just wanted to thank her for her participation in a survey (which she hadn't completed) and they'd call back. 30mins later another call from Lisa at IMS Research told me she was the manager of the company, very reluctant to give me the business name, got increasingly agitated when I kept repeating that she couldn't speak to my housemate but that I would pass the message on, then suddenly a man came on the line, told me he was the manager (how many can there be?), asked me for my friend's mobile number which I refused, then asked me to put the phone on loudspeaker so he could talk to her, was very agitated when I refused and hung up on me. An hour later got a call from Patrick at PLS Solutions from West Perth (again an Indian accent) who firstly tried to convince me we'd spoken on the phone earlier this morning (I was pretending to be my roomate), asked me to confirm whether my income was over $70,000, when I said I'd never heard of him and wouldn't give than info to someone I didn't know he changed his story and said it was his colleague from IMS Research that I'd spoken to and refused to admit that he'd earlier said it was him. Told me he just wanted to thank me for my participation and offer some tax breaks. I hung up on him, hopefully the last time we hear from these guys!!

these guys have been calling us for almost 12 mths

Call and say we answered some questions about our properties and tax implications and they represent Payless solutions in Sth Melbourne

We realised it was a scam and shut down the "question and answer" in first call

They obviously need more information to scam us and so they have called at least 6 or 7 times in the last 12 mths. I have reported they are in breach of the telecommunications act and the of consumer affairs laws and are liable for million dollar fines

Got through to a so called supervisor who said he would remove me from their data base.......

Do I really believe that??

Payless Solutions ..  still calling.  Still fishing for information.  Still wasting our time.
They wanted to set up an appointment with a consultant, who would give me obligation free information on how to "save tax dollars" and "keep .. hard earned money".
Pushy and over-excited..  I pressed them on how they make money.  They said market research that they sell.  And information "to improve service to accountants and financial advisors" ...
What a load of hog-wash!

I complained to the do not call register but they said it was an overseas company.  I agreed to a visit to try to find out who was behind the calls.  We were visited by Steve Hatzolos from WIT Group, who do tax advice, property investment etc.  He said they'd only started using the telemarketing company and we were the first visit he'd done and he was shocked at my complaints about the calls.  However, I note that someone else on this forum had a visit from WIT Group in August 2010 after receiving calls from Infotronics.  WIT Group are either happy about the behaviour of this call centre or they are very slow to learn.
