they have rang me more than once with this scam offer, I respond that I work for the sheriff's office in Australia and we don't have a sucker born every minute, they get angry and tell me I'm not a serious traveller, funny though as I've been around the world, anyway if it sounds too good to be true then it's this yankee bulshit they are flogging

I also think I have been scammed. Nearly £500 has been taken from my account back in Jan 2009 and I was told I had 24 months to travel. Each time I have tried to contact grand vacations to book up the dates thephone number is not recognized and my emails are not replied to. I have sent a letter saying I would like to cancel the holiday which I did within the required time but as there was no reply I kept trying to contact someone.I would either like a refund or if you are legitimate, book up the dates for my holiday. My confirmation number is ST012409102. I am very worried due to the high number or complaints that I have just read when I googled you Please respond. Thankyou

Its amazing as I read through all the bloggs about people not being able to contact you. You still give out the same useless phone numbers and email address. I have tried and tried and tried to call on these numbers and email details and not once in four months have I received a reply. What does that say about your company.

I have been trying to contact 'Tropical Grand Vacations' since February as I have not received the holiday package through the mail as I was promised. I phone the Uk number which is dead, the USA number asks me to call back, then cuts me off and the other numbers for Aus.and Ireland are not recognised. I have sent numerous emails to confirmation5@tropicalgrandvacations.com also to reservations@tropicalgrandvacations.com and have not received a single reply. There is obviously something very fishy with all this. I would love you to prove me wrong and contact me and lets see if I can actually salvage a holiday from this shambles.

Telemarketer
Telephone call received May 2008 on a sunday evening asking me if I had thought about my next holiday, to which my answer was 'no'.I was introduced to what I now understand was a complete 'scam', I was told they were a company who specialised in holidays in America and a number of examples were described to me, including one to Orlando, allowing me to experience all the Theme Parks in and around the area,eg.Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios to name but a few. I had been to the area a number of years previously so knew I would enjoy the much improved facilities once more. Having expressed an interest in the holiday, the 'Rep' proceeded to reel me in with her 'Sales Pitch'. I was assured that I was not commiting myself taking the holiday discussed, the details would be sent to me to peruse, within the following 7-10days, after which if I did not wish to proceed, I was under no obligation to take the matter further. Following this already very long telephone conversation for  which I am just glad it was not my call! The original 'Rep' said she was putting me through to her Supervisor, I cannot remember exactly upon what pretext this transfer was deemed to be necessary, however, I then had to listen to another 'Sales Pitch', why I didn't just put the phone down then and there as I was tired and becoming irritated. During the course of this second encounter I was persuaded to take advantage of some very special 'deals' allowing me upgrades on both the accomodation and the 'Virgin Atlantic'flight. The holiday was purchased using a Credit Card, I felt even if upon receipt of the paper-work I decided not to confirm the holiday, I would be quite safe if I cancelled.  This was definitely as it happened an error I shall live to regret. After a nights sleep and time to reflect upon what I had done, I telephoned the Credit Card Company to advise them that request for payment would be received from Matzos, the holiday company, as the amount was much more than my usual purchases, to alert them. I had by this time already decided that it was not likely that I would be confirming the holiday. To my amazement the payment had already been taken, probably before my telephone call had ended. I explained the situation to the Company but was told that because I had payed with my Credit Card over the phone, they were unable to be of any assistance and I was solely responsible for the debt. Needless to say the information and the Credit Card Company remained intransegent, leaving me owing money for a holiday that I will never enjoy, and as I now  realise never existed any way.How stupid can you feel, yet another gullible idiot caught off guard!

In nov. 2008 I received a phone call and I was told I had won a holiday to Florida including free trip to Disneyland and cruise in the Carribean. As a struggling student and single parent of two young boys I couldn't believe it. As the call progressed I was asked for my bank card details and told the promotional price was £580 and this was for four adults and my two children. I thought that was an amazing deal until it turned out I would have to pay for flights at which point I said I wasn't interested. I was then pressured into agreeing to view the 'package' and was assured I had nothing to lose as it was fully refundable. £580 was taken out of my account ten days later. I received the package and returned it by registered post and waited for my refund. And waited and waited. I have phoned four times and been told 'it's been released' 'it's being processed' and most recently 'you need to be patient , you are not the only customer waiting for a refund!'

Hi Andrew,

Are you from Northern Ireland? Did you recently take part in a door-to-door marketing survey here?  Unlike you, I have fell for this scam and as you can imagine I feel rather stupid now.

However, I don't understand where they got my personal details from, because my home telephone is ex-directory and they also knew that I owned a Visa credit card.  This leads me to believe that the Marketing survey company in NI has sold on the information to Matza Marketing Inc, which is the company responsible for Tropical Grand Vacations.

I would like to know of anyone who took part in this marketing survey here. How do you think they got your information? Please help if you can.

Many thanks

Hey all,

I got a phone call on Monday 19th January 2009 by Tropical Grand Vacations that i had won a holiday for 15 days for £598. I believed them to be genuine and so gave my credit card details over the phone and was excited at the prospect of going on holiday to faraway destinations with family/friends at such a good price.

Like yourself, after hanging up I googled Tropical Grand Vacations and was alarmed by these posts regarding fraud and scams. I immediately rang Tropical Grand Vacations and asked to cancel the package.
At first, I was asked by Karen to give them a chance and that they were aware of these messages and that their lawyers were looking into it. I was initially swayed but then the more messages i read the more i feared that I would loose £598 even if i adhered to their refund within 30 days policy.
I rang them back asking for a refund. Karen said she'd process it immediately. It has taken a couple of days during which i have been in touch with George Adams as well. I received the refund today.

I have read a lot of messages about Tropical Grand Vacations and don't really know how much of what is said is true. Going on my experience only with them, I managed to get hold of them on 0808-234-7528 (UK) the majority of times i called. I got quick responses to emails that i sent them. I have got my refund back for the full amount that the package cost of £598.

I just want to say that I am not one of their employees and i really do hope that everyone else who is in a similar situation gets their problems sorted out quickly.

Good luck.

Indeed. The company is unethical & unprofessional by telling people that

they have "WON" a holiday. If someone has won a prize there should be no

strings attached. Deceptive telemarketing practices are not only

unethical but illegal.

Dear Mr Rice/Mr Caviello/Matza Marketing
I would very much appreciate a refund in regard to the holiday to Florida and Cruise to the value of £249.00 which was recently debited from my Visa account.   I have not received the documents as promised (in 14-16 days) and despite this fact require a refund.
I do not wish to go ahead with the holiday and your marketing salesman Vincent Caviello assured me a refund would be possible if my partner did not wish to go on this holiday.  I have spoken to my partner at length and he is not interested in a holiday to Florida.
I have tried countless times to contact Tropical Grand Vacations on the number given to me, 0808 234 7528, only to be told this number is not in service.  I have ensured I am calling at the appropriate time given the time differences considering where you are based.
I look forward to an early reply to this response.  My telephone number I am willing to supply to you but would prefer to use e-mail in the first instance.

With many thanks
