A call blocker might be your best bet.  Digitone makes on which they say is pretty good.

Several calls over last two weeks leaves no message,today I was home Indian voice starts the Im from Windows to save your computer,I said your a rip off from Kolkata India,I got tricked on 10/23 and had to have everything repaired,so I was ready,he got mouthy and hung up

Pakistani/Indian accent man said that he was calling from "windows" about my computer.  

I said exactly what computer are you talking about?  He started laughing.

Told him to put me on the do not call list.  He cut the call.

Is there any way to stop these calls?

I received a call from this number today and fell for message, opened my computer and now infected with malware...beware, don't be as stupid as me!

Multiple calls and no message left. Another type of scam or nuisance call.

several calls with hang up so  finally answered and foreign sounding man said he was calling from Windows service center and there was a report of an issue with my computer. When I questioned him he said hold on and put a foreign sounding woman on the line and she was pushing for the hard sell. I was in no mood and pushed back - I was on the computer at the time and she took over my mouse activity. I immediatley turned off my computer and shut everything down. When I tried to turn it back on it was frozen. I turned it off and called the guys who work on my computer. They knew the scam immediatley said the scammers want 300.00 to 500.00 after they screw around with you and try to scare you into paying. The woman was a real b**** and she didn't mince anywords about what was wrong with my computer. When I started to shut it down she tried to move the curser to block me. They are ugly. The same guy has called several times since and if I am home I answer so I can suggest what he can do and where he can go.  

I have been getting calls from this number several times a day for the past week or so. When I answer, they remain on the line for a few seconds, then hang up. I've never heard a voice. They never leave a message. What can the scammers be getting out of this, other than information that I'm (possibly) not home? I say 'possibly', because most of the time I don't answer when this number calls. I don't understand the motive, unless it's simple harassment. Anyone have any ideas?

Called once, I didn't answer & didn't leave a message.  Called again a few hours later, I answered & a woman with an Indian accent asked for me by name.  I asked who was calling, she replied that she was from Windows.  I waited a few seconds, & she hung up on me.

Number is now added to my telemarketer/political call blocker. Calls from this caller ID will now receive a 'number disconnected' tone and error message.

Got two calls from this number tonight within 3 minutes of each other. First call I answered and said hello. As usual I wait after the first hello to get a response and heard nothing. I then said " That was your chance to say something" and waited about three more seconds and hung up. The second came  and I said the "Hello" knowing the same number was calling. The voice on the other end was an West Indian accent said "what were you saying and then you hung up ? I asked him to repeat his statement and he said. "You said something and hung up". I told him he had had his chance to speak to me and he did not, so I hung up. I followed by telling him. This is harassment and I would report him. Knowing full well there is not much I could do. He then said "Go ahead and report me". He has not called back.

Multiple calls. Hangs up. No message left. Can't look up number reverse phone says invalid number. Also can't block number with my phone carrier as it says invalid number. Please stop these people!

This is a DANGEROUS scam to fall for!  These people have you download fake Windows repair software that is really a virus.  Leo LaPorte has reported this on his nationally-syndicated show.

This number was spoofed (faked).  North American area codes do not start with a "0" or a "1."

Received a few minutes ago and did not answer.  Thought 1st three digits were transposed, but see that others have received it the way I did.  Sure looks like an error, and if it can't be blocked, how does someone get away with that?

Same as above, said they were from Windows service center. I just hung up. Cannot block through Comcast, says unregistered.

I have gotten calls from this number once a day for the past 3 days. I don't answer because I don't know 'em.

Started getting these today, second call after a wait a male foreigner came on and said something was wrong with windows and someone was trying to hack my computer. I asked him who he was with, he said windows, I hung up.

I just got the same thing- when I questioned them- they hung up.

I got a call this morning. The guy said there was a bad virus on my windows computer. He asked if it was on. I said no. He then asked me to turn it on. I rudely told him no because I'm not stupid. and    Irefuse to get fooled by some hacker identy theif and so on. Then I hung up on him

Called claiming that something was wrong with my windows software.  I told him I had an Apple computer then hung up on me.

I happened to be home when they called... The guy asked for me by name, I said "what do you want?" he again asked for me by name. I said "yes, what do you want?" and then he hung up. Annoying!!

I have gotten many calls from this number and they allways hang up. Today some male answered and told me his name which was unintelligible and then stated he was calling from Windows and there is something wrong with my computer. I laughed and said windows hugh. He responded by saying ya ya ya. I said my computer hugh. He then hung up like he knew I was not buying his bull s***!

I got this caller 1st time this morning and am unable to block it thru Comcast because I'm being told it's an invalid number. It shouldn't matter whether it's invalid or not if they can use it as a caller id!!

Calls over and over and over.  Never anyone on the line and they hang up as soon as I answer.  IS THIS AT&T DOING THIS?
