"not available" listed on caller ID.  Like some others posting here, I am Comcast subscriber and am increasingly disgusted with that company's (I'm sure Verizon and others aren't that different) lack of proactivity in helping consumers - that is to say CUSTOMERS - reduce the number of annoyance calls.  I'm sure there are FCC and other agency regs they will cite in claiming limitations, but c'mon, fake incoming area codes could be filtered and they could give us more than 12 numbers to block before PAYING for the privilege of adding more!  Like that's a massive technological leap requiring huge investments in infrastructure!  I get 12 new marketing numbers a week, what a joke.

Caller trying to sell a chimney sweep service.  Told them I was on the do not call list and he said he didn't have to abide by that.  I explained it was an unsolicited call, to which he screamed that he was doing me a favor and it was not an unsolicited call.  I explained I never did business with them before and never requested they call me, that's unsolicited.  He called me a f**got and hung up.

This number called several times. I finally picked up and they were offering a chimney sweep deal. I asked whether they had heard of the do not call list and they said they would put me on their do not call list. Caller was surprisingly polite and didn't hang up.

This number, 178-739-3444 calls at least once per week. I try calling back and I get  a busy signal or a message:, that this number is not valid. Then how did this caller get this ID number and who is servicing this bogus phone. This recent call I heard a womans voice and hung up .

I finally picked up. Some chimney service.

Just received a call from 187-739-3444, but did not answer it. No name came up on my caller ID, so I have no idea who is calling. I get this type of call from different numbers everyday. I am also a Comcast customer, and not a very happy one today. They had an appointment with me yesterday, 3/4/2014, between 3 and 5, and no one showed up, and no one called. They need to improve their subpar service. Unfortunately, where I live, they're the only cable company available.

Keep getting these calls...never answer or pick up.....comcast customer....who are these scammers i feel like calling comcast and requesting a phone number change

this number just startd today..I did NOT answer...felt like if I report it, maybe someone will stop them. I am also a Comcast customer....

I spoke with Comcast today regarding this problem - they suggested I block the calls. Attempted to do this but since it is a fictitious area code it doesn't work.  I noted all the comments are coming from Comcast customers.  Not sure if this is strictly a Comcast problem or not, but I intend to pursue this further. It is totally out of control and getting progressively worse.

They just keep on calling and calling. Curious as I am, I'm not going to pick it up, since I refuse to be placed on a "sucker list".

After several calls from this number I finally answered it and they asked for someone who apparently had this number several years ago.  I keep getting calls for the former "owner" of our number from various callers?    He apparently had lots of debt or bought a lot on line.  I advised caller to remove our number form their calling list - next thing I know he was gone - hung up on me.  Sneaky tele-marketers are using this technique with fictitious area codes.  This is becoming increasingly concerning.

This is ridiculous!!!  This number calls my home at least 4-5 times a day.  Comcast.....STOP THIS S***!!!   Enough is enough!  It makes everyone concerned that you are not doing your jobs!!  You may lose customers if you do not get this under control!!!  FIX IT!

this phone number keeps calling me and asking for a generic last name i.e., Smith.  I have been receiving a lot of suspect calls lately.  Thanks Comcast.

Pretty sick of comcast allowing a call to reach me that is not even from a legitimate source! This area code is bs and we keep getting calls from these telephone terrorists!

They said nothing. Then after my wife said hello 4 times the caller asked "am I speaking to Mrs smith" answer.. no. "is there no Mrs Smith there or is Mrs Smith just not home right now?"
My wife said she's not here right now. She should have said there is no Mrs Smith, cause there isn't.
So now I expect many more bogus calls from God knows who is forging their number

Have had two calls from this number in recent weeks. We have call block service but can not block this number because our service views it as an invalid number, due to the fake area code. That may be why they spoofed a nonexistent area code -- to keep innocent people from blocking their spam, or phishing, or whatever their purpose is. Guess we have to inform all our phone providers to reprogram their call-block services, to allow any and all numbers to be entered in those fields.

Answered call said hello several times, no one answered.  Got a dial tone after a few seconds.

I answered the call...had to say Hello 3 times then 'hey a**hole' before a women asked for a Mr. Jenkins.... would not give me any info but i had this number for 35 years so far and never anyone by that name here.... she sounded like she was stunned and pulled a name out of the air

Machine picked up, some unintelligible background mumbling, after a few seconds they hung up.

Third call this month from the fictitious 187 area code.  Second one from this number

Received a call from this number, answered the call, but only silence. I waited, and then heard a break in the silence with white noise in the background and someone chomping on food. Then silence again. I said, "hello?" (waited) I said, "Are you deaf?" (waited) "or are you just stupid!???" I hung up.

I'm glad they just addressed the robo calls issue, and hope it becomes law soon!

FYI....When I receive spam calls or political calls, I simply begin trying to recruit/sell them to the opposite side of what ever their position happens to be! They hang up and insure that my number is taken off their call list immediately! (hehe!) ;)

spoofed called id.  Getting more and more of these calls recently from make-believe area codes.

8/5/13 - rec'd call from 187-739-3444 - let answering machine pic-up - they hung up. caller ID said "Not Available" - who are these people that are constantly calling? 187 isn't even a valid area code.
