They have called my phone about 20 times without leaving a message.  Number is 614-300-5233, I traced it to 201-203-9999 to which I called and the VM comes and says "sorry, busy" and than a hang-up.

Has anyone reported this number?

I think you are getting wrong. I got a call from iFixo and a boy asked me whether I was having any trouble with my computer. I did have some trouble with it and this computer problem was constantly delaying my work. I was really frustrated with the whole situation and thought of sharing my problem with him. This person said that they were Microsoft certified and I thought why not give them a chance. I told him about the issues I was facing. He listened attentively and he did understand the trouble I was going through because he told me about some symptoms that I was facing and this made me feel that yes this guy did recognise the trouble. He explained to me what the problem was and told me about some charges to fix it and it was a reasonable one. He said that he will do it remotely and I just need to co-operate. I did and this problem was solved efficiently within a few minutes. I never thought it can be such a hassle-free job. I just explained to them my situation and I simply relaxed and it was done. I think they did a great job for me and I am happy.

The last post was over 6 months ago so I thought it was worth saying that they are back at it.  I was on the other line, luckily, so I didn't answer it.  Looked up the number and found all these posts.  Good gracious!

A young man with a very thick foreign accent calls my office today telling me he's calling about needing to fix the error message that giving me problems on my computer. I told him I did not have any problems, and I don't know what you're talking about. He insisted and said my computer prompted him a message telling him my exactly what my problem was and he was calling from Microsoft Windows to help me find fix it. I asked him how he got my number and, he said your computer sent it along with the solution to fix the error messages. He then asked if my computer was turned on, to which I reply, You tell me genius! He said, You don't want to fix you computer problems so you don't get virus (not viruses...virus!). I said, If I should have any problems with my PC concerning Windows I will call them. Not sure why he chose not to hear me or may have also been the HUGE language barrier, but he proceeded to ask me again if my computer was on and if I was ready to fix it. I said, "Did you hear anything I just said F***er?"  In a tone of defeat he said, "Yes, sorry". I said, "Good, NOW. Don't ever call me again!." Ya know...I try to be nice to people because they obviously need the money and are willing to do whatever it takes but, MY GOD....find another profession....because scamming obviously is not getting him paid today.

Telemarketer
Just had a call from these "cowboys" and thought I would look up about the company and found this page.  I am a computer technician by trade and I'm stunned so many people on here willingly hand over their cash to this company and are encouraging others to do the same.

I was at first intrigued about what they were offering.  The guy had me going into event viewer to check for errors etc.  Of course I found some and they then tried to get me to allow their technician to remote login to my pc to solve the problems.

Thing is there are no problems,  at least I knew that because I have sound computer knowledge and knew what had caused the errors.

So from what i'm reading here is the next step would be me handing over X amount to "fix" my problem.

Now If I didnt know about computers I might have handed over the cash and be saying "yes they are great" etc

But because I work with computers on a day to day basis I know they were going to charge me for fixing something that wasn't broken.

And sounds like many other people have fallen for it.  Why pay XX money when most issues can be solved by using google and there are hundreds of help sites that show you various ways to easily maintain your pc and most fixes only take a couple of minutes and not worth £5 of anyones money.

I received a phone call from Indian male who keeps telling me that my computer has problems.

He told me he works at Microsoft. I didn't buy it. Why the hell Microsoft would make this guy to call?

I could understand only the half of what he was talking about.

A very, very, very difficult to understand man says he works for Microsoft and they have received a lot of error messages from my computer recently.  I told him he was violating Federal Law by calling this number which is on the Federal Do Not Call List. Then I told him to remove my number from his list and never to bother me again.  He got very flustered(as if he wasn't already) and then I slammed the receiver down on him.  Man, that felt good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"why not make return calls to them, if they receive incoming calls! Badger back!"

The number itself is invalid.  They have spoofed a number that would never actually be given out.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  I did not know so I answered it.  Man with very strong accent hard to understand.  Told me I was going to be receiving a $400 gift card because my number was selected. I don't shop at Wal-Mart so no way they would have my number, especially my cell phone number!  I hung up, we will see if I get anymore calls from this number.

Keep on callin' idiot...
I don't answer numbers that don't show BOTH name and number.
After reading some of these posts, I guess it's good I don't.

FWIW:
They NEVER leave a message, but they do stay on the line for a short time while the voicemail is recording. They are in a somewhat noisy room, sounds like a call center because you hear other people talking on the phone in the backround.

Looks like a a scam maybe phishing for info from verison customers. The number links back to "Verizon New Jersey, Inc." The website it sends you to is not secure, if it were the url would have https in the address.

My visiting nephew answered the phone: I don't answer it when the name/number on Caller ID is blocked or unfamiliar..  He said the caller wanted to ask about my computer.  I recently had it serviced so I took the phone.  The caller wasn't from Best Buy; it was a person with a heavy accent who said that Windows on my computer was trying contact a "dangerous site" & Microsoft wanted to fix the virus..  I knew it was a scam immediately; my computer runs Linux. I told him I don't use crap from Windows & to try his scam on someone else & hung up.  I haven't had any return calls from this number.  Yet.

Person with strong accent asked if he was talking with some name, not mine.  I said it was a wrong number and then he wanted to talk with the person  responsible for my computer.  He said that he had been affected by some type of very serious problem, and implied he was calling from Microsoft.  He asked me to turn on my computer, at which point I told him not to call again and hung up.  I've received one more call that I did not answer.

I've been getting calls from this # for about 2 weeks. Today is Saturday and they have been calling every half-hour since 8am. When I pick up the phone, it just disconnects. When I call it back, it says the # is no longer in service.
They have been calling both my cell phone and my home phone.
This should be illegal!!!!!
