THE TELEMARKETER TOLD ME THEY WERE FROM ENERGY DISCOUNTERS AKA. HIGH RISE ENERGY. THEY GAVE ME A FAX NUMBER OF 888-744-2450, I TRACED HTE FAX TO LIGERO ENERGY.

THE COMPANY HAS 3 LOCATIONS ONE IN MELVILLE, NY, THE OTHER IN GARDEN CITY AND ONE OTHER IN HAUPPAUGE

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS GETTING THESE CALLS?

I just received a call from these pests again! I tried calling them back to show them I know they are a fraud and to warn them that if they keep harassing  me or any of my household again I am pressing charges. Automated message said "next available representative will take your call" but hang up immediately.

I wish the Police do something about them- seriously!

Message said IDT Energy Enrollment, hold for next available representative.

Now I'm a bit concerned.  I switched to Viridian a month ago. Today I got a call from "Tara" and the Caller ID said Positive Power (224-649-5515).  I told her that I had just recently changed to "Some other Energy supplier" without naming Viridian.
  She didn't know my name, and promised me UN-realistacly huge savings per KWh, PLUS bunches of other savings (RED FLAG) and kept insisting I get my account number so she could get my "Savings started".  Figuring I would just keep an eye on this, I told her I'd have to call her back and needed her number.  I was surprised when she told me 855-572-9374, and that the company was RESCOM. (The RED flag was on fire)
  Are these companies selling their customer lists to each other?
Lucky, what happened to your dad is called 'slamming'. (stealing service from one provider and switching to another without consent. It was quite fashionable in the 80's and into the 90's when long distance phone carrier wars were all the rage)
I'm wondering if going with a "green energy" provider was such a good idea and if I'm going to get slammed too?
The Viridian $ per KWh is good and they promise a blend of 20% "green" energy. The other 80% must be from burning politicians soiled underwear (highly toxic!) and marijuana convicts rowing oars in vats of un-insured - starving babies tears?
So many scams, so little protection. *sigh*

My dad switched his energy 2 mos ago. Some man called him 2 wks ago about an error in his account number. Dad called me to ask if there was a problem with his service. A week later , dad's current energy company was switched to another supplier.Guess who...RESCOM. I had to call pseg to find out who did this to him. My dad gave that caller no information, so i don't know how they were able to switch him and SCAM him.  The number of the caller was 860-548-5671. a land line number. out of Hartford, Conn.  Guess what...no answer.
I switch dad out.  I prefer NAP because of their dynamite fundraising network.

I rec'd a p/c from this number on 1/18/12 and when I told them that I was sorry but I didn't have time to talk with him and he just hung up.  No, I'll call you at a better time or anything.  How rude!!!

Got a call from this number saying that I was only person in this conference call.

Hang-up.  No message

They called my house today - tried calling back, I get disconnected. I can't get anywhere with these people. Wish I could be removed from their do not calll list but I don't think that's going to happen.

I am receiving phone calls from this number and then they hang up when I say hello.
I DO NOT want them to call me ever again.  I have asked them to remove my name and
number from their list. But I still get calls.

Today I called them and held on for the operator then I was disconnected.

They called me twice in a week.  left a message on the answering machine.  they said....your gonna die....scary!

HANG UP - DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO - THIS IS A FRAUDULANT CALL!!!!!

These are telemarketing terrorists. They ignore the Do Not Call list. They call and hang up when the 24/7 answering machine is on. They are just as bad as the MOD that calls constantly.

Person called, and said I am with something like progressive but I suspect that i was suppose to think PGand E was calling.  Said I was entitled to a rate change and ask if I had seen it yet.  I said I did not know.  She then said, first off we are going to see you get those changes in rates immediately and get that changed.   Is that OK?   I
Immediately I suspected a attempt to get me to agree to what I thought was my utility company changing my rates but I believe it was really to agree to a new company.  

I immediately said that if this was PGandE and it wanted to lower my rates, then I would not object and I should not have to agree to this, but if this was an attempt to get me to unknowingly agree to switch from PGE, then I would not agree and if this happen, I would report them.

Beware, the call can be really misleading, and I believe their attempt to hide their real intent represents violation of do not call and fraud.

got a call from this # today, they hung up, but the ID says STARNET PAETE ....don't know them, don't want to know them, they hang up as soon as I pick up I say " WHO IS THIS"... I don't say hello, rude, I know, but so is telemarketing when I've been on the DO NOT CALL list for years, & even re-registered all my phones after the 1st 5 years...you get rid of one, 5 more takes their place... how is this ???
this name & # has come up maybe 10 times in the past 2 months... just yell at them " WHO IS THIS" & they will hang up immediately ... & report them again to the DO NOT CALL list .

Call the NJ Public Utilities Commission to verify or complain...

Report it to the Attorney General's office in NJ and to the NJ Public Utilities Commission.

Even if the caller is NOT representing a utility, NJ has laws about that kind of fraud  (IF Christie "the machete"  didn't get rid of them yet.)

I keep getting these calls 3 to 5 times a week- same story- no one answers when I pick up the phone, I put a call block on my phone. (that is a nice feature on my phone!). Very annoying

These people need to stop calling, they've become a nuisance.

I got a call from this number today and the guy said he was from WestComm and that I could change to
them as my electric supplier. I looked at a list of licensed suppliers for NJ and Westcomm is not on it.

Number just called. Of course they HUNG UP when I answered and said hello. Tried calling back 3x.
"Welcome to Rescon Energy.  If you know your parties extension dial 1 then the extension. If not dial "0" and speak to the next available representative".   Funny each time I tried "0" they DISCONNECTED.

I actually work P/T as an energy broker and the cold calling/telemarketing is frowned upon.  In fact I signed a contractual agreement that if caught marketing like that... I will be terminated.

Just be careful, watch for contracts and ask for a website or something in writing to see what the real quotes are and if there are cancellation fees if you want to switch back.

I got the calls to.  9X's while I was away all week on business and NO messages.

These people call and while I am looking at caller ID it rings for about 3 times and ends. They want to
have me look at my JCP&L bill to tell them what my kw is to show me how I can save on my bills. He was an insistant minority voice that was cracking up and I could not grab my last bill fast enough and I had to just hang up on him.  They have called repeatedly the last several months, then it stopped when I told them they are being blasted on the internet. I tell you, these people belong in jail !!

Said "hello". nothing. said "hello" again and was met with a computer voice saying, "Goodbye"
Kinda creepy if you ask me.
