There is no connection between taking a car in for service and receiving these calls.  I do not take my cars in for service because I own a garage.

Have not bought a car in over 15 years due to employer provided.  We get mailings and calls for a car we had 4 years ago.  What I believe triggered it was that I extend the Sirius subscription on only that one car.  All our mailings include a reference to that car, which I believe is why these calls come too.  Sirius says they don't sell or give away your information, but has to be since the cars I have are NEVER registered in my name or address.

I received a call from this number on September 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm.  The recorded message said I should extend my auto warrenty and repairs can cost up to $100 an hour.   My caller ID said " Auto Sales".  I reported the call on donotcall.gov.  I've had several similar calls in the past few months.

Have called many times, and use many many different number ID's.  Have never spoken to these folks, as I know that they are evil bad people.  Have blocked them as often as they call, and it rarely stops the calls, as they keep switching numbers.  This scam is connected to the duct cleaning, carpet cleaning, credit card scams.  EVERY time we get a call for this particular scam, we get calls for other scams within minutes.  Duh, cannot believe that they don't think that folks notice such a pattern.

I just received this call same call; it was indeed someone trying to extend my auto warranty.  When they were all done speaking I told them that I no longer can drive because I have lost my vision due to macular degeneration.  They apologized and said they would remove me from the list.

I hope this lie does not cause me to really lose my vision.  I am at the end of my rope with these calls.

They are now up to about five a day; alarm system due to high crime in my neighborhood, a guy that wants to clean my carpets, a collection agency asking for a name I have never heard of and a credit card company that wants to give me a lower interest rate.

So you can understand why I resorted to the terrible lie.  It is such an invasion of my personal space in a day that could otherwise be so enjoyable.

No, there is no connection between having your vehicle in for service and receiving this type of phone call.  Your dealership or where ever you have your service work done does not approve this type of scam.  I've gotten the same kind of call on a vehicle that was totaled in a accident and another vehicle that I traded in 4 years ago.  Do not answer the call, do not press any number to be "added to their do not call list" as it just doesn't do any good.

Prank Call
Auto sales at 201-243-3414 on my ID. They have called using various numbers with
a warranty renewal sales pitch. Old scam game where people think it is your actual
car warranty from the dealer. Have read about this scam in the news. Some people have
actually bought this from them, but they never pay up when you get the car repair. Big
con game. Be aware.

caller ID reads "AUTO SALES" - they do keep changing their number as I have several blocks for "AUTO SALES" - just created a block for "AUTO SALES" regardless of the number - that should fix that, lol

They waited until the answering machine answered and the recording started, then hung up with out a word.

This is the best thing to do with telemarketers, and it's kind of fun.   Remember, time is money for these guys.   So See how long you can keep them on the phone.   Tell them whatever they want to hear, without actually giving them information.   My favorite is "my wife handles that.   Can you hold for a minute and I'll go get her" .  After a few minutes, pick up and say that she's coming, she was downstairs.   My personal record was 14 minutes!   That one must have been really desperate!!

This is a scam operation to sell over-priced extended warranties for cars and trucks.

They are trolling the phone lines looking for a few bucks from the few who just can't say no.  This is a faked/spoofed number that just goes back to a recording that offers to allow you to put yourself on their Do Not Call List, which doesn't work (surprise, surprise!) since they are still calling me after more than two weeks.

I hope they starve to death in the dark from lack of funds.  I certainly won't be putting any of MY money in their hands.

I don't know how many car warranty calls we get, but it's getting really annoying to say the least. You ask to be removed from their list and they just go ahead and add you to another one, grrrrr...

Another daily call from this number  and the identifier is AUTO SALES.  They are calling about our 2009 car that no longer has service .....I called back and got the prompt to put on number on a do not call.  I did this but all of our phone numbers are on the national DO NOT CALL list so how does this company call us.  Tired of it.

Did anyone else have their car in for service before receiving their first call from these people? I did. I wonder if there's a connection.
