These guys call about 4 or 5 times a day and never leave a message. My husband donated to special Olympics a few years ago and about 3 months ago talked to theses guys and said quit calling if I talk to them they will not leave a message. They have been calling numerous times a day for months.

It's a spoofed (faked) number, usually in the recipients (your) area code. Calling the number back will not get you to the people who called, it will just call the number on your caller id (which is not who called you, if it's even in service). It is not illegal to spoof numbers yet so there is nothing anyone will check on.

Also, if these people really are non profit (and not just scammers) then they can call people who are on the do not call list until you ask to be taken off of their list when they call.

Was the check made out to cash? Lol. Why send money to a solicitor over the phone? Just give directly to the organization and you won't end up paying a scammer. This is why people get calls all day - because there are people out there who will pay.

Just got a call from this num 2012244368 name is DUMUNT  WHEN I CALLED BACK IT  WAS OUT OF SERVICE  WTF...PLEASE CHECK ON THIS.

I got a call from this number soliciting for the Special Olympics of Alaska.  The call was coming from Dumont, New Jersey so I immediately became suspicious.  I called the FBI but they referred me to the FCC who wanted a filing fee to report a complaint (they also suggested I get a lawyer also).  What the heck is there no one to report this to who will actually take action?

Really annoying - been receiving calls - no person on the other end - evenings, weekends - dozens and dozens of calls - can they stop?

Just got a call at 8:30 am AK time.  Left no message - this is the fourth time this week.  I have now blocked this number.

I have received  calls from this number.  They ask for Namoni,  I have told them several times that they have the wrong number.  This morning they called again and asked for her.  Again I said they have the wrong number.  They asked for a personal manager.  I told them this is a private number.  They asked again to speak a personal manager.  They were mumbling so bad I could not understand them.  They asked if this was some kind of business.  I was getting mad by this time.  I said before this is A PRIVATE NUMBER!  Do not call again! I also live in Alaska.

We get calls from the number every day, morning and night - even Sunday.   Have never answered it.  Very interesting to read the posts above.   I am thinking about having the phone company block the number if that is possible.   We also are in Alaska.

Left no message on my answering machine and i do not know anyone with a New Jersey area code/phone number. Looked up phone number and there are over 70 comments on this number.  Once you donate -  everybody from everywhere starts calling so I have ceased donating to out of state non-profit organizations.

Have received a couple of calls from this number which I let go to voice mail because I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize.  They just hang up without leaving a message.

I live in anchorage ak and have recieved two calls from this number since getting my new phone. the last time they called was 1/31/12 after 6pm my phone sayd i was on the phone with them for 24 seconds i dont remember who called but i am sure i hung up on them. then i got another call today 5/1/12 at 10 am and when i answerd they just hung up.

Called me at work, didn't leave a message. After reading these posts I will be blacklisting this number.

Tis life in the digital age.....the computer that makes the call doesnt ask for  any wages nor workers comp. or time off or overtime......the human element has been removed....now the computer just calls for no apparent reason....is this a glimpse into the future..... is the day coming when all  telemarketing computers go awry and just make silent calls.....will our phones will be ringing off the hook throughout the entire day....

Well, Special Olympics has seen my last dollar....there are many other worthy charities....ones who pay attention and are concerned about the interface between the solicitor and the donor....

I'm awakened many mornings (i work late nights) and disturbed many evenings by this caller. how do you stop them from calling and why isn't it illegal for a company to not identify themselves to SOMEONE and/or, if they have, why isn't the telephone company who provides them service cutting them off, reporting them, etc?

This number calls EVERY day, 'unknown caller - 201-244-4368' never leaves a message.  Since they don't leave a message when I'm not home, I refuse their call when I am home.

I have had at least two from this caller.
2/16 at 6:40pm and 2/19 at 5:22pm
Never leave a message though.
I am on the Do Not Call List and I still get calls

I have received calls from this # every night at 6:30PM. When I answer no one says anything. If caller ID says it is this # again I just won't answer.

These "people" call several times a day, don't talk when you answer or don't leave a message if you let it go to voice mail. I'm already sure it is for Special Olympics and will be letting them know their telemarketer is NOT doing them any favors.

Calls all day & all evening long, every single day. Drives me nuts!

Got one at 6:20 PM in Alaska. Short message on my machine but no voice - just sound like a party or a riot in background.

its the special olympics asking for donations.

Got the call around 1 p.m. CST.  Message was the caller talking to someone else about picking his nose.

I received a call from this number at a couple minutes past 5pm today. When I answered "Hello?" they hung up.

Some called for donation to MS.  I gave last year cause they have a record...sent check.  I'm a little suspicious.
