Said they were from "Dial America" representing Mothers Against Drunk Driving. When I said I wasn't interested and asked to be removed from their calling list, she kept talking. Apparently a commercial for-profit enterprise trying to sell me something while using the MADD non-profit as a front to try to get around the do-not-call law.

I received a call from 201-257-4099. No message. Researched and brought me to this thread. This is a brand new line/phone that is unlisted so probably means robocalling. Even though this is a "charity" call and exempt, I still see it as robocalling if I got a call. Anyways, I called the 1-800-654-1862 and the lady was very pleasant, added my name to all future do not calls, and apologized in advance if I received any calls until it is processed. Hopefully it works.

well MADD is no longer being used now its HASBRCK HTS NJ  omg they r driving me crazy... they don't leave a message nor do say anything...im going to stop answering and maybe the database will stop dialing my digits..

Excuse me for replying to my own post, but I realize now that 'HASBRCK HTS" was probably a location and not a company name.

I got a message twice from this number on the answering device of my phone. According to my phone, the caller was "HASBRCK HTS" and the message was "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again."

If you are a company representing Mothers AGainst Drunk Drivers, you are going about it the wrong way.  I am sick of getting these phone calls and I wouldn't give a cent to MADD now.  STOP CALL ME!!!

Have received a call from this number over the past several days. Never answer it as have no  idea who it is from. One time a partial message was left on my answering machine. Sounded like someone yelling at someone else and could hear a lot of abnormal noises in the background like papers rustling and glasses clinking. I ran a check on the internet and this Dial America is noted as a scam. If you receive a call from this number ignore it as it could be dangerous.

Go to the post on AUG 7, 2007 by Michelle and try that number to get off their caller list. Also go to the "do not call list" website and read who is allowed to call you and I am sorry but many can call and bother you and it is allowed.  ALSO KNOW that these type of callers get to keep .80 cents plus or minus from each dollar YOU send them, please write a check and send to your favorite charity or cause and NOT funnel it through these bloodsuckers. I checked once and found out that a state troopers caller got .90 cents for each dollar people gave to them and a THIN DIME went to the troopers for each dollar received and they thought that was "FAIR", if you think a dime goes far next time you need a state trooper at 3am on a lonely dark road you better hope that dime comes your way in time before evil arrives.

Everyone Dial America calls is on a do not call list! Supposedly they are allowed to call you UNTILL YOU SAY...PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST NOW! Its all recorded and then and only then will they stop calling you!

I received call from this number twice a day.
At the first time the caller ID was MADD.
The second time was just Incoming Call.Nobody left a message.
Who is it?  Don't call me again.

This number called and NOTHING showed on my Caller ID. They left no message, I never pick up numbers I do not recongnize.

this caller kept harrasing my daughter (10) although she said her father could not come to the phone. they said they were MADD. Shame harrasinga child like that.

Dial America, a telemarketing firm that gives a spiel about calling on behalf of MADD, asks if you are familiar with MADD, and goes into statistics about drunk driving. All well and good. They are not seeking a donation (of course not), but then proceed to try to sell a magazine subscription from which MADD will get a pathetic 12.5%. Told them, "no thanks, I would rather make a direct donation to MADD if I were inclined to do that." Then the spiel went that buying the subscription would support MADD year round. Sure, at about $0.25 a month. My number is unlisted and I do NOT want calls like this.

Received three times in last several days.  No message.  Caller ID "MADD"

True, nonprofits are exempt. But I've worked for a company that made calls on behalf of nonprofits, and they were a for-profit business. So how does the law treat those? Does the for-profit get a loophole because of the organization on whose behalf they're working, or are they still treated the same as they would if they were selling aluminum siding?
