Had wrong name. Wanted to know about websites in a thick Punjabi accent.

I have received one call every day from that number. He claims he wants a Web site. He has a Indian accent and is difficult to understand. I asked him several times to stop calling and to take me off his list. However, he continues to call.

I had the same situation. He called three times after I told him not to. I told him his calls were harrassing and that I was going to report him. He just continued to read his script. When I hung up he called back. I tried to call the number that comes up on caller id, but the call doesn't go through.

same thing--I just programmed it in my phone as "Website Scam" so that whenever that number rings--that's what my window displays.

Here i got the call from the same number. I don't care from where they are calling. But I got the best deal. They create a fantastic website for my business. And i am getting the business. I really appreciate.......

Looks like this person has got hold of registered small businesses and giving cold calls.
They seem to give it a few weeks break between calls.
If I get my hands on this person or company, god save them.
*** The previous post by the so called ALLEN seems to be the just the person I am lookng for --- I wish whocallsme.com could disclose us the IP address of this post***

I got the exact same thing as Denise did...noise and poor English.
| Larry 2011-06-06 20:41:14 Unknown |
Says he is in New Jersey. Terrible English. Web-Site design. What a Tax...

Just received a call from this # and he claimed to be from a Web design company called "CompuMax" (i think). Had an East Indian accent and said he was calling for "John Dunn" which is not my name. Aggressive and not a good listener.
| Denise 2011-06-06 20:41:14 Unknown |
Said they were a "web designing company." Lots of background noise and English definitely not the first language of the caller.

Same as you all. Called our business looking for my husband (the owner). When I told him he isn't here and may I take a message, I was asked repeatedly "WHEN he will be in?" (nice grammar) I pressed and asked him where he was calling from and what this was in regard to. He responded that his name is "Jack" (doubt it) and the company is Compumax. They offer website services. I told him thank you very much but all of our web design needs are being met within the company - to which he persisted in asking when my husband will be in the office. We're a mobile PC company, so his presence really depends on his schedule. The man THEN began flirting with me asking me if I'd had lunch yet (It was 4:30 pm). I ended up telling him I had to go, have a nice day and hanging up.
Thanks for the heads up, Max. If he calls back I am definitely going to ask him to remove me from their list.

Got a call from the same number that led me here.
but... for all you folks trying to file complaints with FTC... if you have a business registered with that phone number, the DNC does not apply to you.
They can cold call any business all day long.
All you can do is politely ask them to take you off their list. Most will.

Received a call from this number asking if my massage practice would do "special requests" after explaining that we are a therapeutic massage practitioners and not a massage parlor, he wanted to know if I could refer him to another local business that would do it. I told him I didn't know of anyone and that prostitution was illegal. He responded by saying that he has a male friend who does massage for women in that type of business and it was legal. I again told him we were not in that line of business and could not offer any more information. Then he said " Whats your name honey ?" and I hung up. The voice was an Indian man with a heavy accent. I thought it was a prank but when he called me honey it freaked me out and I hung up. He hasn't called back since, that was 2 weeks ago

Same deal with me. Website design. Says in New Jersey. Connection quality put him closer to Burma.

Called looking for someone who was not present. When I asked to take a message they hung up on me! Someday, somehow, we might be able to make the FTC actually take action against these fools.

Same as all of you. Only difference is I file a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission. Not that it does any good. But I do it for the same phone number every time it appears on my caller ID. Generally after a month I no longer see that number. Something must be working. Although, there are still plenty of telemarketers calling here violating the DNC registry. So far none of them have called my cell phone which is also listed with the DNC. Someday, somehow, we might be able to make the FTC actually take action against these fools. I know for a fact that they will get action if the telemarketers call them. That just happened this last year. One of those telemarketers informing him that his automobile warranty was about to or has expired and wanted to sell him an extended policy. That group got charges brought up against them by the FTC in federal court this year. Oh if only us peons had that much authority. I would be front and center in the court room ready to testify and voice my opinion on telemarketing in general.

An Indian with a horrible accent asked to speak to the owner. I said no and they started up reading a script. I put the phone on hold and walked away. Am reporting to the FTC since I am on the No-Call List.

I had the same call. A man called and said he was interested in web design. I could barely understand what he was saying and had to ask him to try and speak more clearly, to which he only raised his voice and seemed to get ruder as the call went on. I asked him to fax me his details on a fax system I have set up and he said that he would. Nothing has been sent but he still keeps calling me, so I have now said I am not interested but he will keep calling, sometimes as midnight. This person must be very sad to call throughout the night, so he's probably abroad where the times are different.
I will be blocking him from calling me soon.

I got the same call, same person can barely speak english. I told him to fax over his info regarding website design. He never did, but called back 3 times. I told him all 3 times that I was not interested. The line was very crackly and you could hear people on the same phone line, not in the same room.
