I was billed for $6.95 by Byersbooks in NJ. I phoned the number, got a woman answering who certainly was NOT legit as she sounded as though she was reading the message. She said to email Support by E books.com or leave a message and she would get back ASAP.  I am going to report this to Bank of America. What's going on???

11Apr08, $6.95 from ByersEbooks.com out of NJ.  Called, left NUMEROUS messages, no response.  Let it slide...BAD IDEA.  Led to other transactions from DEN Enterprises and DM Nelson Enterprises.

CANCEL YOUR CARD AND DO NOT USE IT ONLINE ANYMORE!  If you must pay online, use a charge card, NOT a debit card.  I'm going psycho crazy from now on, I'm paying cash for most things and using the ATM only.  I've lost $50 this year in BS like this...thank God it wasn't more

i had a charge to my debit card 4/16, never heard of them.  reporting as fraud.  does anyone know where they're getting our debit #'s????  what scammers!!!!

I also found a charge from this company on 4/07/08.  Looks like they're still at.  Reporting fraud to bank, as they used my debit card for this.

Also found a charge from Byerse Books in NJ on 03/12/2008. Reported as fraud to card company.

Also found charge on my debit card from Byerse Books in Ramsey NJ on 3/31.  Called the number and they asked that I e-mail my request.  I reported fraud on my card and blocked by debit card immediately.

This company no longer owns this number.  I own it.  It's for my business, and I am not a book company.

Another unauthorized charge - $4.95 this time in June 2008 - These folks have been running this ring for at least 8 months now it seems...

I also have an unauthorized charge, $2.95.  I have called and emailed the company with no response.  I don't recall receiving a phone call or anything from this company.  I already disputed the charge with my credit card company.

I received a charge on my debit card.  I have never heard of this company at all.  After seaching Google using BYERSEBOOKS, I was directed to this website & appalled.  So many others have had the same happen to them.  Sent an e-mail to the company & awaiting their response.

Im so sorry this has happened to everybody, but...I have been charged $4.95 as well.  On the phone with the bank now.  What friggin scam artists, thanks for all the information.  Filling out the forms to cancel my debit card.  Luckily I noticed the charge right away.  Looks like others didnt get so lucky.

Same here-- got a 4.95 charge from Byersebooks. My bank had to re-issue a new debit card for me, but they also refunded the 4.95 charge. I too am glad this site is here. I buy a lot of books and would have been wondering who Byersebooks was until they emptied my account. Hope the financial institutions will chase these jerks down since it is costing THEM money now.

I got charged $4.95...still pending but it is from BYERSEBOOK. And to think I just got a call yesterday from my bank verifying my most recent 3 transactions! I think I will need to call in and request for a change of acct number.

I just got charged $6.95 this past weekend. the charge is still pending and my bank said they can't do nothing until it posts. I'm rather peeved about the situation. I'm glad I googled the company and came across this site.

Beware of Byersebooks, they keep charging my account and I never ordered anything from them nor did I authorize any charges against my credit card from them. I keep having to dispute the charges. That account will be closed soon and just because of this problem.

I have an unathorized charge for $2.95 on my credit card from Byersbooks. It was the same day as I travelled and charged a meal on the plane to this credit card.  I seldom make small purchases on my credit card. When I called the number 201-258-5600 the messaage said the mailbox was full

i had an unauthorized charge from Equifax for $99.95 for one years service i never ordered. It caused my checking account to be overdrawn 9 times to a total of $351.00. The customer service refunded my $99.95 and told me to send in the documentation of the overdrafts and it would be taken care of. In no way did this happen. They denied ever saying they would pay the over draft fees, gave me false phone numbers to call. this has been a disaster. I hate to do this but now i need to call the attorney general or a lawyer about this matter

I ALSO have had services with Equifax. If this is related, why weren't we warned? If this keeps happening I will have to change my card.

I also got an unauthorized charge to my credit card by this company. This is the SECOND time it has happened. I had the first charged reversed. Looks like I will have to do it again

I got a charge from Byersebooks, too.  I am glad these sites are here so I knew it was fraud right away and could contact my bank.  Turns out that the charge was made on a debit card number that I thought had been canceled.  Thanks to everyone for doing their homework.

The leak is, I think, at Equifax.  We had subscribed to a credit protection deal with them and started getting 4.95 charges on one of our credit cards.  Had to cancel the card. So, it is fraud and Equifax is the suspected leak.

They got your number from some place. It is fraud.

It is indeed fraud. Please report it to your bank. I actually got a new debit card. They got my number as well as a company called Search management. They are both fraudulent companies. I just got my money back from the bank today. I urge you to get another bank card because they charge small amounts first to see if the number works then they go big.  I hope this helps.
