This number has been calling me 10 times a day!!!!!! Starting at 7 am...who the hell are they????

This company has been calling non-stop for 3 days starting at 7 am and ending around 7 pm!!!!!! It is quite annoying and i want it to stop!!!!!

For the last two days this number has been calling me persistently at around the same time. Yesterday i finally decided to answer and a lady says to me "i know you're 18 i just need to know what your family income is" so i tell her im actually 17 and she asks if she can speak to a parent or guardian over 18 and i lie and say im alone so she says "ill call back tomorrow" and hangs up instantly.

i think its a scam. If they call me back today ill answer and ask them if they're a scam and just mess with them

Yup, they've been calling my cell phone at least 10 times a day for the past week. Only once have I answered the call. I heard a very "foreign-sounding" accent on the other end (so heavy was the accent that I couldn't really understand what she was pitching), hung up immediately and have not answered any calls with the 201 area code. Is there a way to block this particular number if I have Verizon cell service?

Beginning 9/2/10 and up to today I have been bugged by calls from the above # between 30&40 calls .I would Like to know how to stop the caller short of driving to N.J. the place they appear to be coming from and having a get togather with the ---------.

I also have been getting 3 - 5 calls a day from this number.  Same scenario as others, press 1 for representative ... States call volume too high try another option.  Have tried option #2 which is supposed to put you on Do Not Call List.  Calls still persist daily.  Very annoying!

Any idea who this company / person is?  White Pages shows UNKNOWN.

I've tried "0" out option, only to be disconnected.  They never leave a message & don't even identify who they are other than "A Survey Company".

How do I get rid of this pest????  Block them from my cell/home numbers?

Same here, this number has called me about twice an hour at first I ignored it because I know no one in NJ but they kept calling so I finally answered to say I wasn't interested and not to call anymore and they hang up.....waited a little while knowing well they'd call back and sure enough 15  min later they did same thing happened.  When I tried calling back it gave me the option to talk to a representative or be put on the do not call list (which I chose)........low and behold 20 min after their recording said I was on do not call list THEY CALL AGAIN!!!  By now I'm frustrated and call back to speak with rep to see who they are and what they want....I dial 1 for representative then get recording saying due to volume they can't take my call to pick another option from menu........WHAT OTHER OPTION!! the one I already did and obviously doesn't work?  Tried to get through a few more times before giving up and just calling my cell carrier to have the number blocked, whose system just happened to be down at the moment ( of all the luck) so after explaining to them what was going on they tell me they will call me when systems are up to block number (now I'm feeling better) As soon as I get off the phone with my carrier, and I mean like instantaneously, who calls but the NJ number again ( now I'm pissed) this time I get an actual person who I proceed to rip a new one for continuously calling and for all the BS I've had to put up with and that I know they are scammers and take a page from their book and hang up on them before they can get another word in..........no calls since, apparently they got the message

they call 8-10 times aday ,leave no message,wont answer if you pick up,they hang up, you call back,cannot get no information,wait to talk yo a rep. almost an hour no response,thats ridiculast,rude and uncalled for NO RESPECT FOR INDIVIDUALS.

Yes, I too have received calls from this number telling me that I can apply for government grants and I have to pay this small fee to get on their system.  They have a caller ID as Cigna so people think that this insurance company is calling and they answer it.  They called me about 5 times in two days. I asked if they are with the government but she said no that they are a private company working for the government and they are called Grants Director I have to pay by credit or debit only to get on they system.  I did not believe her and told her I am not interested and hung up.  They did not call me back.  This is definitely a scam!

this number 201-282-6499 has called my number 6 times in the past 30 minutes and hasnt left a message. i dont know who or what company it is.

It happened to me too. Just the same thing. About the grants from government and she asked my debit or credit card for those $2.89 fee. I told her I don't trust anyone calling me and wanting me to give them my credit card. It's too risky, she could take all the money I have, not just $2 as they say.

I strongly think that this is a SCAM..... you should not have to pay to get information on how to get FREE gov grant money!!!  If anyone is trying to get help for going to school the school will give you info on how to get grant money for FREE! Or you can check out the DWS in your area and they can also help you.

I really think that this is a scam.  After several calls I finally answered it and the lady told me she was calling about government grants also then when she went on to say that there is a $2. fee to get the pass word I told her I was not interested untill I looked into it further cause I have been scamed befor.  She went on to tell me that they are a well know and they help people get free money from the gov and that she would like to help me get that. She them went on to say that they are lagit and if they were to scam people they would get suide. She then again asked me for my card number to pay the $2 so that I could go on my way to getting this free grant money.  I stated very loudly into the phone that i was not going to give her a card number untill I know that this was lagit.  I also asked her that if this is FREE gov grant money why would I have to pay to get it?  I strongly belive that this is a SCAM and you could totally tell she was not English speaking..  I told her if she keeps pushing my to give her my card number that I was going to hang up and report her.  She then said well check us out and we will call back at a later time to see if you are interested.. Just a little note to everyone...... If it was real then the website that she gave me to check out would of ended in  .gov   NOT .com       All government webs sites end in .gov

Call the number back and once the automated message comes on, press 2. It will put your number on their do not call list.

Well I've come back with an update. Apparently pressing 2 doesn't do anything but reduce the number of calls you get from them a day. They just called me again, it's been going on a week now, and I told them I'm going to report their number to the police if they call again. Let's see what they do now.

I just called the number back, and I then got the same automated message... press one for an operator, press two to be put on our DO NOT CALL LIST. I pressed 2... and that's it... it said my number was added to the DNC list and it hung up. It was THAT easy.

FYI, just like most of the people that have posted before me, I have been receiving non stop calls from this number with no message.  The number that they are calling however is a virtual line that I use for business, so when I logged in there was 2 whole pages of nothing but calls from this number, literally every 20 minutes.  I don't know who it is, but if they are calling that often, that is harassment!  I followed the advice of one of the previous posters and called back, then pressed 2 which added my number to the DNC list.  I did notice on the caller ID however that it says "Cigna".  I hope that this helped.

Same story here. 6 to 8 times a day.  I called back twice and pressed #2 to be taken off call list and they still called this morning.  I told the girl that I will report them if they don't start calling.  Haven't received another call since but the day is still young.

I am going through the same thing ! I've asked them not to call my number at least 3 times and they've called me 5 times already.

The area code is actually from New Jersey, not Utah. They're lying to you.

Thank you for the suggestion of pressing 2. The machine said I was taken off their Do Not Call list as well. They've been calling me constantly for the past three days, and I rejected their call every time. Let's hope it goes through and they really do stop calling me. :]

I signed up for some online survey site last week and have been called several time a day from this number ever since. I answered the phone on Saturday morning 8:30 (grrr!) and it was this "government grant" company. They gave me their grant spiel and then asked for $2 to have access to their website which supposedly helps with finding grants and writing the grant applications. I told them I was not interested in giving my credit card info over the phone, could they send me info in the mail? And the caller, following a script I'm sure, wouldn't let me off the phone until I had verbally declined the offer completely.

I wish that was the end of my tale.  4 hours later, I received a call from the same number, and every 15 minutes since then they call again. I haven't answered yet, because I find it less annoying to hit end call than to have to speak to these people again.

I started getting calls from this number a few days ago. For an hour or so I would get a bunch of calls from them and then they would leave me alone for a while only to start up again either later in the day or the next day. Whenever I picked up I would not get any response and if I called the number back nobody would pick up.

I told a friend of mine about it and she called the number with the same results. But I guess she's had more experience with those types of calls than I have and she told me to call the number back and sit through the answering service for a few seconds then press 2. Miracle of miracles after I pressed 2 another automated message said that I had been placed on their do not call list. Hopefully this info helps anyone else that is having trouble with these people.

Over the past two days I have been receiving calls on my cell phone from this number.

i was also called about a grant and got unsure when they asked for the two dollars fee. i donot want to be scammed. can anyone who has got they're grant conferm that this is not a scam????

i have looked this up on better business bearu and they are not located, so that meens they do not have a business licence. wtf

For those of you who have sprint starting August 29th they will be able to start blocking phone numbers. I plan on calling them back on that day and having this numbered block they call all day long its starting to really piss me off!!!

I have receive calls from this number as well and I spoke to a representative who says she is calling about grants from the government. They asked me to apply for an application and said they would charge me a $2 fee, but when I asked her about the location where she is calling from she said she was calling a location from Utah. I didn't believe her based on the area code. Can anyone confirm this?? If anyone else filled out any application online regarding student grants

I receive calls from this number at least 8 times a day it is really getting to be a pain in the A## ! It doesnt let up it is consistant for about and hour then it stops and starts all over again the next day!

Number calls cell phone 6-8 times per day--will not leave a message.  Called number back--system does not identify company...gives you an option to speak with a customer service representative.  When you press 1 for this option, you get another recording "due to the high call volume, there are no representatives to assist you.  Please select another option from our menu."  If you press 1 too many times, it disconnects the call and you get a busy signal.  We are also on the cell phone Do Not Call Registry.  If number keeps harassing us, will file a complaint with FCC.
