I received the same scam phone call about windows needing a cleanup.  I just hung-up the phone, but thought to myself what a odd phone call. While trying to trace back where they could of gotten my number i remembered an order I placed through an amazon seller that went sour and left me with a feeling of foreboding about being scammed in some way.  The seller was also from India and I definitely think these two issues are related.  I have never had a bad experience through Amazon but I was forced to make a claim with amazon about this seller and I told amazon that I felt like I was being scammed in some way, even though I didn't have proof of that at that moment.  Now I feel like my my private information has been invaded in some way to allow these people access to it.  Lovely to say the least, and now I will be holding my breath and wondering what else will come of this?  Hopefully nothing, but wondered if anybody else feels like maybe having ordered through amazon has anything to do with having received a call from this scammer?

I received a call from this number from Joe with a  heavy Indian accent and was barely able to understand him telling me my computer had a virus and he was with windows. When I asked him which computer he was unable to provide me with any information and kept saying I had viruses on all my computers (yeah right) when asked where he was calling from he replied Seattle I then asked to speak to a supervisor or someone else who I could perhaps  understand better, another Indian fellow came on the line when I ? him as to where he got this number from and exactly what computer were they referring to he also  was unable to answer so I persisting in questioning him and he hung up!

Just got a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from One Stop BC Solutions telling me that they have been monitoring my internet/computer and we have been compromised.

Knowing full well this is a scam I asked him for his name, phone # (which he gave me a fake name) and where he was calling from. He said he was calling from Canada, I asked where from in Canada......he says Florida! I say to him 'Dude, Florida is not in Canada and your phone number is not a Canadian #.' He says oh, the main office is in Florida, it's close to Canada but he was still calling from Canada.

So now I tell him this is a scam and do not call here again I am reporting him to the police. He gets mad and wants to know how i know it's a scam, I told him I no longer wish to talk to him and that I was reporting it to the police. He hangs up. The phone # he gave me was 1-201-338-6148.

They will ask you to download a program and charge you for it, which will hack your computer and your personal information. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!! HANG UP THE PHONE!!!

I received a call from this number today.  The person on the other line told me that I had dangerous/infected files on my computer and they were calling from windows.  I merely even heard what he said, but I knew it sounded odd.  I quickly said i'm not interested,  and he responds "You don't have to be interested.." I just hung up.  It's irritating that they got my number somewhere, even called me by my name.  I think I'm going to report it to the police, the man on the line was not professional at all and it is clearly a scam to try to get your personal information.  DON'T GIVE IT.

Received a call from a heavy accented Indian person claiming to be representing a Microsoft  windows security problem I had.And  that if I didn't let them access my computer through their technician my computers would slow down and eventually not start up. Couldn't understand him and then was passed to his supervisor who basically told me the same story in the same accent.

got a call from one stop pc solutions. they said they represented windows and that my warranty had expired and they were contacting me to renew it. they explained the situation being that many error messages had been recieved and that they were able to clean them up for me. they had explained this to my wife who had allowed them access to our computer. they charged me $ usd 129 for the fix up which required their going into my computer and installing their software which diod nothing to solve the problem, which incidently did not exist before the phone call, but a regeistry of these error messages magically appeared. my computer has since been cleaned and cleared by a reputablle computer repair company. i have contacted them by e mail and phone requesting a refund, but as of yet none has appeared.BEWARE these people who prey upon others!!!!!

April 2/12 - just got a call from the above number by a foreign accent person, difficult to make out what he was talking about.   Heard in the background the voice of another person, sounded like a call pool.  Told me that they had repeated rerports of errors on my windows.  Asked how he got my tel.#, replied they had the tel.#s from all windows users.  Told him that I would consult with my tech. assistant person and determine whether there was any validity to his concerns.

My parents received a call from someone calling from 201-338-6148 offering to fix their computer cause they can see there are "lots of problems with it".  They asked for the IP address adn then a credit card number to which they needed to charge $120 to fix "the problem". They said they're calling from TechBudda and the person's name is Arer or something like that.

This is a complete scam. There is nothing wrong with my parent's computer and especially not someting someone cuold see over the phone without ever seeing the computer. They're praying on unsuspecting elderly people.

The key to this message at any time is that the caller will tell you that the Windows servers are in danger due to a virus on your computer.  Windows is a program, and the servers would be Microsoft.  I explained this logic error with the caller to see what he would say, but he ignored my comment and simply repeated himself until I hung up.

Yep....they are still calling around identifying themselves as text2text support for Windows. Telling me that I have bad files that have viruses, etc. and wanting access to my computer directly. Asked them if they were associated with Microsoft and all I got was we are an independant tech support.Very persistant but so was I :)- telling them that if its that bad go through my ISP....as if!!!

This is a totaly scam, what they will do is try to get you to go to a website, and download a program  that will allow them access to your computer. once they have access they will hang up and download any files they find interesting ie they are looking for banking information credit statements etc. anything with which to steal your ID.
They go by various names, the one that called me said he was from the world security office (yeah right)
other names they go by are microsoft security team, windows security, AVG security, Norton Security, etc.

They have been very active calling Canadian numbers lin the past couple of weeks, I work in a call center for an ISP and I am getting 4 or 5 people a day calling to ask me about this.

my advise is to just hang up, then report the number to your local law enforcement agency .
