The National Do Not Call Registry is bogus.  It does nothing.  In my opinon it's just a bogus number setup by whomever to appease people, when in fact it just peeves people, cuz we are still unindated with mindless telemarketing calls.

It's DIAL AMERICA again and again and again. Thank goodness for caller ID. Don't even answer.

You need to tell your caller that when they call.  This is a discussion board,  not a call blocking service.

Called This number 800.318.6611 and asked to be removed from their calling list.  I will see if it works.

Unless you removed yourself from the Do Not Call list, re-adding your number opens you up to sales calls for 30 days.  Being on the list is permanent once you register your number. You also must understand that only callers attempting to sell you goods or services from companies you do not have a business relationship with are covered.  Since you need to be a day sleeper the best suggestion is to turn off the ringer on your phone and let your answering machine handle calls unless you need to answer important calls while you sleep.  Friends and family should be aware of your schedule and know not to call during your normal sleep times.

I called the number and it tells me it is a Non Profit Organization. So that is great. The DNC won't work. So I called the 800 number and a lady answered and I asked her to remove me from their contact list. Lets see if it works as I would like some freaking sleep. Turning my ringer off is not an option in case there is an emergency and I would like my line open. -_-

Called me this morning waking me up after I went to bed at 6 AM. I didn't answer. They call again and wake me up again. Did this for a week now. When I do answer I am asked about health care but it is a machine talking to me. Just added myself to the DNC list again. I am sick and tired of being called and being woken up. I hadn't had any sleep because of this.

These people call my home every day at least once. Caller ID shows Dial America Mkt. I let the call go to my answering machine and they hang up - never leave a message. Their web site brags about how they "comply with federal regs" and never receive complaints. Yeah, right.

I am not interested in magazine subscriptions  which is what this company is selling.  I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST but that does not prevent telemarketers from calling.

Technology can track these people or call centers, I suggest that laws be written to shut them down, obviously they have obtained private unlisted numbers through illicit means, adding to the suspicion, that they are acting with illicit intent.

The callers have no idea if the company donates money to the cause, nor do they know how much the call center takes out of the donation for their time.

I never give to charity from a cold call, the call centers usually get more than 50% of the money raised.  If you want to donate to a charity, call that charity personally or go to their website to donate.

These call centers are for hire, they make calls for thousands of different companies or charities, it isn't just a call center for one business.

This is a call center, they may have been hired by a company you do business with such as a bank  (wanting to offer insurance on your card or one of their (business associates like insurance companies ) a charity or political group, all of these are not covered by the do not call list.  If you do business with a company or given them permission to share your information with their business partners, unless you chose the no option if offered, it is not covered by the DNC list.

If you read the website for the do not call list, it tells you what is not covered.

I got a call from DialAmerica mkt. 201-373-8321 this was a very nice man who ask things like how is the weather where you are, and I told him so I ask what kind of weather do you have?  Hoping he would reveal where he is, we had a very nice civil conversation then he hit me up for a magazine I am not sure I think it was guide post, anyway after I hung up I was angry with myself for falling for it, I did get the magazines but I send payments for 8 times mailing them 1 week before due date and numbering each in the memo with balance due, to make a long story short I was in the garage painting and I am glad I did not hear the phone, especially when you are painting, left no message, but it looked familiar to me. Now I will be prepared for him/her  when they call again and I am certain they will.

get at least 1 or 2 calls from this number when i answer i get dead air i just wish they would stop i am on the do not call list

This is certainly DialAmerica. If you have magazine subscriptions that have expired the companies turn it over to them to solicite you to renew. Occassionally they try to sell you some other subscription instead. They bug me all the time. Unfortunately I think they can call you because of your affiliation with a magazine.

PLEASE stop this number from calling.  I am 70 and dont need to be running to get a phone call that is harassing me.    I cannot afford anything being on SS.  Thank you

I dont mind Dial America calls. In my opinion, they are a reputable organization... They hire people with disabilities and they support charitable fundraising for The American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, etc... But they always call multiple times EARLY in the morning. We work late and this has proven to be a real pain in the butt.  I've had to ask them to remove my phone number... too bad.

This marketing group says they got my name from a magazine I subscribe to, and named the magazine. That is very odd because I never put my actual phone number on anything like that-- I use an online VM at k7.net.

They claimed they were "helping out" Mothers Against Drunk Driving by raising money for them. when I asked how much their company was going to donate, the rep corrected my misunderstanding: THEY weren't giving any money, they wanted ME to give it. Since they aren't "helping" and are getting paid for their "help," I declined to participate until they do.

To be absolutely fair, the rep NEVER tried to pull anything like the frequent scammers I get calls from. This is a legit marketing group.

This one called.. and was breathing on the phone, like she was a telemartketer, and didn't want to make the next call.  Google search said it was Dial america.. telemarketers for magazines

These morons call every three to four days, occasionally twice a day.  I pickup the phone, then hang up on them immediately - they aren't good with hints.

I, too have been getting these calls.  I hesitate to email them or call in case it just adds to their information.  I am also on the Do Not Call list.

frequent calls. no message. no answer.  Just want them to stop. We are no longer going to answer any number we do not recognize.

they just called me for the millionth time. I have been polite in the past, and advised them I am on the do not call list. my home phone and all cell numbers are also on the do-not call list. I have politely reminded them I am on the no call list, pls stop calling me. well, that doesn't work, cuz the same gal that I spoke to  yesterday, just called me again. I told her to stop effing calling us, that I was on the do-not call list, and that if they kept calling me, I was gonna track them down, get in my car, and visit them and nobody would be making no damn calls after my visit. and I hung up.

Not saying this works for everyone, but my home phone has auto forward featured enabled to my cell phone.  Caller ID displays the number, I don't answer the phone, I go to this website and enter it, and see information.  Go to my cell phone website (Verizon) and enter the number into the blocked calls section of my account.  This does work.  

Again, not for everyone, but I too have used the "do not call registry" and other companies from all over the US continue to call.  My cell phone blocked numbers feature does work.  Only for 3 months, but I just re-enter numbers every 3 months.

They kept calling.  I finally picked up and they are using MADD charity to sell u magazines.  Don't fall for it.  I am on the do not call list but maybe because they give a small % to MADD they are allowed 2 call.  They wanted $ 50 for 21 issues of Martha stewart not sure if that is good or bad.  I told them no and hung up.
