I get this call several times a week.
Ladeebug 2014-01-08 18:25:34 Unknown
Well, I do agree with what you say in part, but I am not the one who owes the money so therefore, once that is established with these folks then should leave me alone...not continue to harass me all day ever day for weeks on end. They are aggressive, nasty and go well over the line of professional. And for those of us who do unfortunately get someone's old phone number or contacted in error for what ever reason and are not the dead beats that are not paying what they owe, should not have to pay the consequences and deal with the horrible insulting way these unmentionable ignorant lowlifes speak to us & harass us over what is not our debt to begin with.

Only problem is they call from various numbers around the US so you can't ID their number to report, and they do call over and over and over and over....

What Ever 2011-11-02 02:31:01 Unknown
I just bought a car in September from a dealership that told me the first bank i signed papers for ended up denying my loan and had me sign loan papers for a second bank (whom I am Paying early and extra). Now i am receiving collection calls from this company. The dealership got paid twice for the same car and I am being held accountable for it??????? Good thing I have pre-paid legal!!!!!!!!!!!
You obviously know nothing about this 2011-11-02 02:26:02 Unknown
it isn't that simple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been back and forth with this company for ages. I don't owe them a dime and have never heard of who they are calling for. I have told them that numerous times. They say they will take my number out of their system but NEVER do. This is standard practice for these vultures. I even got some consultation from a lawyer who told me exactly what to say but still NO result from the b*****ds.

I also have been receiving calls from this number and finally called them back. They are debt collecters.
wow 2011-10-18 18:17:41 Unknown
AMEN, finally a normal human who can speak and type in a civilized capacity. thank you. Yes there are scammers and horriable collectors out there. However if you are getting calls from a fully accredited collection agency it is because you have defaulted on a loan (unless of course they have an old phone number and the person who actually owes has changed their number). PI has the gist of it. Know your rights, make sure they have the correct info, do not give up info freely, and always ask for proof of debt in writing. They have to send it to you. You can also ask who the original debtor is and contact them directly.
wow 2011-10-18 18:13:17 Unknown
WOW arnt you just the literary genius!!!. How old are you 14?? Did your parents teach you nothing or were you just to rude to listen. Yes because being a waitor (as you so wonderfully spell it) washing cars or working in a beerstore (liquior store maybe??) will pay the bills these days. People actually have bills and some actually pay them. Pampered??? Welcome to the real world?? Odds are I have more experiance with the real world then you do sunshine!!!! Seems like you are just one of thoes people that gets online and tries to start fights. UMMMM tough arn't you.....ohhhh im hurt and terrified. hahahahahahaha IDIOT.
wow 2011-10-18 18:07:48 Unknown
How is that people cannot be polite anymore. If you do not owe anything to a bank or car company then ask what company the collector is calling on behalf of and call that company yourself. Unless you have had the same phone number for 20 years, collectors just call the number that is on the record they are given by the companies that contract them to collect their debts. Have you ever had someone call for someone else and then told the person they got the wrong number?? This is the same thing that happens with collectors. Personally I work for a phone company and often the number on a persons account does not always match their actual working phone number, this is because they have changed their number and have not updated their account, it can be a headach to find out why Mr. Smiths internet is not working when you can't find their account by the phone number they are giveing you. I know how annoying wrong numbers can be, but my parents taught me to be polite. There is also a thing called a DNC list incase you did not know. I received a call from this collection agency, they were looking for someone who had my phone number before I did, I let them know this and asked who the debtor was, they told me and I called the company, I let that company know that the person who defaulted on the loan was not me and that I had this phone number for over a year. I have never received another phone call from this collection agency or the original debtor. You attract more flies with honey then vinegar.
hahahahaha 2011-10-18 17:59:23 Unknown
Arnt you funny. A tool?? First off I know for a fact that the person you responded to is not a tool, nor do they work for a collection agency. Second off your telling people not to listen to someone who tells them to pay thier bills, wow you must be a collection agencys dream. How many bad debts do you have out there?? Yes everyone gets an opinion, however the law states that if you do not pay your loans, debts and car payments that the company you get your loan from can contract your information to whowever they use to collect thier debts, if you don't want collectors calling you then its very simple, dont overspend, don't over buy and pay your debts!! But don't listen to me, I am just one of thoes people who actually knows their limits, has a good credit score and have never been called by a collection agency because I defaulted on a loan.
ooo 2011-10-18 17:52:43 Unknown
How hard would it be for you to tell these people that you do not own a debt and since you just got the phone number that they are probably trying to call the person that had it last. You do know that numbers are recycled?? You don't get a brand spanking new number that has never been used. There for tell them to take you off their calling list. This will stop the calls and stop wasting everyones time.
kkkkiii 2011-10-18 17:49:18 Unknown
They are allowed to call before 9 pm your local time, they are not bottom feeders. The people that get large loans for cars or other things they cannot afford are the bottom feeders when they stop paying on the loan and expect to get away with it. This would be why they are calling, so here is a clue, pay your debts and stop the calls, hello
jjjjjjjj 2011-10-18 17:46:59 Unknown
Guess what if you own money to a company then they are going to keep calling you.
hahahah 2011-10-18 17:46:07 Unknown
Your father apparently barrowed some money to get a car, a bank loan or other FDIC regulated money and then defaulted on that loan. This is why he was called. The company contracted this number to collect or make arrangements to collect this debt. I dout there was any threatening going on as I have delt with this company and never had a problem with them. Call back, speak nicely and they will tell you what the reason is they are calling.
