It *IS NOT* a common practice of recruiting firms or any company that randomly contacts by phone or email to request any part of your social.    Only companies that place NO VALUE on financial security hire IT people dumb enough to think this information should be asked for in email and over the phone.

ANY strange company that asks for any part of your social should be assumed to be a scam or so incompetent you should not give them any information.

I worked at a company that would ask for SS#s when issuing parking permits for the campus.  I wrote a fake one down.  In the months that followed I was able to use my mouse and find over 40,000 ss#, names, phone addresses, driver license #s left unsecured for years on shares.  Everything needed to destroy people's lives.  If a real company's IT dept is dumb enough to use any part of social as an ID, they are dumb enough to risk your financial security..  I know if ID theft ever happens to me, that company will be my #1 suspect.

Indian recruiters(not real recruiters, just telemarketers), most of them call/E-mail from New jersey (actually from India), don't give your info.
When you see Indian name/accent just hit Ignore button.

I just got the same person, Anjali.  She has a 18 month position in a neighboring city.  Wanted my SSN, DL and address.  Well first off, I have a job and second no job would ask for your SSN or DL number unless you were getting hired, and then it would be in person.
A new way to scam and/or steal your identity...

I received a call from Anjali Verma, Recruiter, from this number this morning, followed by an email. She asked me for my birth month and year and the last four numbers of my SSN, which other staffing agencies have done, but I wanted to confirm with Honeywell that the job she called about was really available. They don't have it listed on their website, but it's supposedly for a nine month contract for three days a week, so maybe Honeywell isn't listing temp positions. What troubled me more than anything was that the Right to Represent form was not on letterhead, that it had some glaring typos, and a completely wrong word usage. I find it hard to accept that this could be from a legitimate staffing agency.

They called me today and offered me a position.  The lady Heather asked me to call her back.  I left a message on her voicemail.  She called me five minutes later and I could barely understand her with her thick accent.  She offered me a position to a city where I never heard of.  I live in San Diego, CA and she offered me a position in Pennsylvania!  She said, "Sorry, let me call you back in five minutes."  She called back in five minutes and said, "Yes, you called?  Who is this?"  These people are whacked!

Called today, left message in mostly unintelligible Indian accent (the #1 indicator of a scam call). They obviously mined my data from a job board and are looking for more information. Be a cold day in hell before I'll ever talk to them. Added them to call block, the best innovation since Alexander Graham Bell invented the phone.

You have to be prepared for these kinds of scumbags whenever you make a resume public on any major job board. Just block 'em and move on.

US Tech Solutions is a staffing agency.  If your resume is out on Monster, Career or any site like this they run web crawlers looking for key words in your resume that match posted job positions and try to place you there.  Obviously, they work on some kind of commission so they continue to call for that one in a million placement.  The problem with all of this is: if you have them submit your resume and then a reputable staffing agency who is working directly with a hiring company calls and wants to place your resume for consideration, with both of them submitting you could kick you completely out of the pool of candidates for consideration and hire for the position (assuming it is a really position to begin with).

Received a call from this number as they wanted to offer me a job said we pulled up your resume this morning on CareerBuilder and found you're a good fit for the position being offered. I mentioned that I was already employed and that I don't know how they got my resume if it is set to private, to where no employers can see it. I questioned him on this and he said "Thank you" and hung up.

I didn't get a phone call but an email, on an old account I don't use.  Its from US Tech Solutions  the persons name I got was Komal Khurana 201-524-9600 ext 255  I called and asked her about the job posting they sent me for HR person for Honeywell.  It was strange that they emailed me on an the email I haven't used in 3-4 years, she told me that they had my resume on file and thought I would be interested in the job.  I had put resumes out 3-4 years ago but  it was for engineering jobs,  I never heard back from anyone, so I don't remember if I sent US Tech solutions a resume or not.

Well, I ended up brushing up my resume since I still need a job and sent it in, but never got a confirmation it was received.  SO doing some research on the company I couldn't find it listed under the NEw Jersey corporate division of records, but a company of a slightly different name TECH SOLUTIONS INSTITUTE, INC.  filed 6/2000 which is the date that USTech Solutions mentions it got its start.

I called the number this morning that I had previously mentioned and got a voicemail, I didn't leave a message, however Komal Khurana just called me back asking who just called her number, so I know that the line is being monitored.

Its all kinda strange, and I am now concerned about what they are doing with my resume information.  This could be some sort of data mining operation.

Spoke with Mansi from US Tech Solutions and I called the # listed on the email.  When I called I got a recording, and then entered ext.  There was no answer and as I was leaving a message I received a call and it was the rep, Mansi.  She asked me for my email and said she could not find it in their system even though I just got an email from her.  Anyway she advised that she would send me a copy of the job description with Honeywell, Job #HONJP00048617-Call Center Specialist.

Debt Collector
Im unemployed and drowning in a sea of red ink. Debt collectors calling in triplicate. This firm contacted me via email offering a line on a job that fits my skill set with a location on the VERY street I live on but WITHOUT an exact address number!!?!!! Really? Yet, this NJ number was attached. The sender had a somewhat uncommon and rather exotic sounding female Indian name. Hmmm. Smells fishy.
I go to their website.  An ambiguous offering of services. But, among the ??Financial Services?? they offer we find ''Credit and Collections??. How very convenient. So, I ?FB' the 'unusual name' of the sender?.Amazing. The name must be the equivalent in India to ?Jane Smith? in the US. From infants to elderly: literally 50 or more. Curiously, EVERY link was to an ambiguous or private posting and by CLEAR deductive logic, unrelated to this firm. Shame on the vultures who prey on bones already picked clean in this economy.
No job here. Just panning for updated info for your creditors. The subject turns to rocks: kick em.

I received a call from this number. They are an employment agency or so it seems. They wanted to send my resume to a company and I asked where they were located and they said N.J. I asked if they had a local office here in Arizona and they said no. I wasn't comfortable with that so I told the lady I would call her back. I then tried to call to make sure my resume was not submitted and no one answers the phone and recording says the mail box is full. I don't want them to submit my resume because I have a local agency that is submitting me, at least I know the local agency is legit because I worked for them before and have met them face to face. Why would someone want to work for an agency that doesn't have any offices in their city and whom you've never had a face to face with. I was just uncorfortable with the whole thing.

It's a recruting firm, and as much as i find it annoying it is common practice for some recruiting firms to ask for the last 4 digits of your ss#.

If you get annoying calls from this number, call it back and use 355 as the extension when the recording asks if you know the party's extension...it will roll over into a voice mailbox.  Threaten having an attorney contacting them if your phone is called from their number again.  I haven't heard a peep since doing that.

My phone rang and an email indicating this number came in simultaneously. I didn't take the call and they didn't leave a message but I read the email. They are offering me a job and I believe they got my info from the resume I posted on Monster.com. But I live in Southern California and the job location is Missouri... Why would I want to move to Missouri? I don't know if it's legit or not but I'm not responding.

They just called me too. I had a real recruiter do the same thing before (minus asking my birth date and last 4 digits of my soc), but he had me sign a release on a job description anyway... what can they do with the last 4 of your soc? Can they do much? I'm not giving them the info because the job description is vague, but I know where they got my resume from (Corp-Corp) as I don't post it all over the internet. In my case, it's not a matter of them just getting my info randomly, unless Corp-Corp is selling my info. I think I'll stay away from both sources now...

They called me and emailed with a job description for a local company that fit my skills. Had me fill out a release that stated I would not use another recruiter for that particular job and I sent them my resume. I can not believe I did this, but I gave her my birth date and last 4 numbers of ssn. What can I do now? She never got back to me, of course. I'm just sick.

I am back out on the job market again and have started getting calls from these people.  Of course I won't call them back as I don't trust them any further then I can throw them.  Don't bother filing a complaint with the DNC people, they don't do anything.  I just don't answer their calls!  yeah it gets annoying but what else can we do right, no one will stand up to protect us.
