They called at 8 pm, asked for me by first name. When asked what this was about, they self id'd as Russell Research (as did the caller ID) and was paying to participate in a focus group in Rutherford NJ paying $100 for a 2 hour group, opposite Giants Stadium. I don't know how they associated my first name with this unlisted, restricted, not in my name, DO NOT CALL LIST number. Unfortunately, although I would normally demand to know all this, I had been interrupted in something and hung up before finding out.

Here is how to handle their calls. Whenever I get a call from a telemarketer, I always say,"Thank you for calling  "whatever town" police/fire/hospital. What is your emergency?" They always hang up and I never get a call back - our number is taken off their list.

I never heard of the irs having a company do cold calls for them for info.  First off if somebody wants your ssn/birth date then that should send a red flag right up.

Second why is the caller id not saying it is russell research.

So yes they called me too.  I stopped them at birth date and said that is none of your business.

Be carefull who you give your info to, this sounds like what they call phising tryingg to get the little bits of info so they can steal you tax return.

Called today at 12:38 pm.  Claimed to be called on behalf of the IRS, wanting business owners to participate in a survey so the IRS could use the results to provide better service.  Asked for both of us by name.  I said we don't own a business.  She asked if we filed a Schedule C or a 1099 -- I did not answer, as it's not her business.  She then said she'd remove our names from their list.

I call BS.  If the IRS really and truly wants to contact business owners to provide better services, it had bloody well better do so via something far more believable than a cold call.

The IRS site does turn up Russell Research in a site search, but cold calls are not how I will participate.

Russell Research, President John Debiasio. We don't really care why you're calling, What irritates us is the way you call and don't leave a name or message and then keep calling. It's rude, intrusive and abusive... and whether you represent the IRS or not, it's no way to do business. As usual, you do it because you can and because it puts a buck in YOUR pocket, not because it's the right way to do things. POS.

You can stop calling. No one is going to fall for your stupid tricks. You ARE trying to scam people. Even if you are not taking info for the purpose of identity theft/fraud you are gathering information to me used to "market" to us. That is just a fancy word that means you are trying to trick us into buying inferior products that we neither want nor need.

These idiots called us once each weekday from 8/18 until 8/25 (but missed 8/24, somehow), and never left a message.

I answered on 8/25 and the woman asked if she could speak with my husband.  I told her "No."  She said that she was calling on behalf of the IRS about ::blah blah:: and we would be compensated for our time.  I told her that we were on the DNC list, and she said that it didn't matter.  Bull---t.  I also said that we weren't interested in their research, and she said "How do I know that your husband isn't interested?"  I said, "Because I TOLD you so," just before I hung up.

Survey claiming to represent the IRS. What does asking if I use the Internet to buy products have to do with the IRS?  What does asking if I used social websites such as Facebook have to do with the IRS?  Sure they threw in a couple of questions like did you file a tax return last year?  Since they knew my name before they called, they knew that I did.  I am suspicious as to the real reason behind this call.

received a call from this number at my office.  "Tasha from Russel Research officially hired by the IRS and featured on the IRS website". She introduced herself and then said "I'm sorry, I have another call coming in. Is it okay if I give you a call back?"  I hung up.  She called back and asked to be transferred to our Executive Vice President in charge of farming.

So we're supposed to feel more comfortable knowing that the IRS is paying clowns like you to invade our privacy? Damn, that sure is "interesting" to see how our own tax money is being used against us and enriching professional privacy invaders like you. "Sickening" is a better word for it than "interesting".

Ever get a loud whistle in your ear? It means STOP CALLING FOREVER.

Look I was only trying to make people feel more comfortable.  I know that I would also feel uncomfortable is someone said that they were calling me on behalf of the IRS.  If you go to www.irs.gov and type in Russell Research into the search bar on the upper right corner you will see our name come up as well as full reports on the various surveys that we have done for them.  It's actually pretty interesting.

Sure, You would say they are OK.  If you work for them of course you want us to answer the phone,
I get these calls on a daily basis and even if you talk to them, they never quit.  One lady asked me for my birth date. I hung up. Now they claim to be working for the IRS, That should scare me into telling my life history... Not
Of course if you work for these ppl you would want us to think their are ok, even if they are not

Not a scam.  I actually work for this company and we have been conducting surveys for the IRS for over ten years atleast.   We conducts surveys for many large corporations and well known products.  Just recently our facility has expanded to conducting in-house focus groups which pay very well.  Anyway, I just wanted to put your mind at ease that no one was trying to scam you.
