I had one of them call me and when I tried working with them and ask for more info the guy got real nasty with me. He ended up saying there would be a sheriff officer at my door the next day, then he hung up. A sheriff officer never showed up.

We received 4 calls from this number in 20 minutes! Every time I answered, an automated woman's voice told me they had a call for my number, please wait while I transfer you. Ok, I waited, and "she " told me I was to keep holding. I did, only to be told that the transfer couldn't be completed, "she" would call back! If it calls back, there better be a live person on the other end!

I have gotten calls from 905 and 201-735-0577.  I have a Samsung phone that can block phone numbers even if they come across as 905.

Just got one. Barely left a message. Just a half word. No idea.

I received several calls for somebody else from this number.  
When I called back, I found out that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection.  
I found there website ( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number.
They told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

Don't these people have anything better to do than harrass people

Cathy just proved herself to be immature and uneducated, therefore completely invalidating her post.  Who goes around swearing at people and calling them names ??  Especially while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet?  Well, besides high school kids who just don't know any better that is.  The funniest thing is, she has no idea as to the circumstances of each case, or even as to the identity of the other posters, thereby making us wonder as to what grounds she is basing her accusations of the posters being "stupid" and "retards".

To Cathy:  If you wish to make a point, and have it actually listened to, and not just have people laugh at you in return, study up on grammar, ethics, and... well, there's not really a course for wisdom or maturity, but perhaps your parents can help you in that matter.  If not, I'm sure you will gain wisdom and maturity as you grow up.  In the meantime, a good trick I always tell my students, stop and think, and observe your point from all points of view, before expressing your opinions.  Especially if you're opinions are expressed in writing!

If you're actually a grown-up, then that's just sad as it expresses potential flaws with the Canadian education system.  If you happen to work for one of these firms, as some suspect you do, then you've just under-minded your whole organization!  Not to mention the potential liability of calling people "retards", as that could be interpreted as grounds for a lawsuit by members of our mentally handicapped society. (Hence why it is important to think before you speak!)  However, on that note, I suspect you don't work for a collection agency, since you don't seem to grasp the legalities and regulations with credit, as regulated by our government (in regards to your comment about "buying the debt off before it's directly placed on your credit score".)  

On a side-note, to anyone reading, a debt cannot be "bought off", since the original agreement is signed between the debtor and the debtee, and cannot be transferred by either parties without the expressed consent from both parties, under Canadian law.  Yes, companies do "buy off" debts from creditors, at a discount, since they hope that the debtee will not be aware of his or her rights, and will end up paying the face value of the debt to the third-party.  If you have a debt that has been "bought off", just send a cease and desist order by registered mail to the company in question, clearly explaining that there is no binding agreement between you and that company, and they will have no choice but to stop calling.  If they persist, you can then seek legal action against them.

Good luck in life!  And Cathy... if you've read this, I hope it taught you a little wisdom.

aka cibc, td, canadian tire, rogers, fido, capital one, scotiabank etc
and the letters from global or natale arent anything false - it says POTENTIAL law suits it doesnt threaten u s***

Asked to confirm he was talking to the correct person by asking for my date of birth. I would not answer any of his confirmation questions which are what credit card companies or your bank ask when you call them.

Am getting harrassing phone calls from 201-735-0577.

Got a call from this number on Jan. 4, 2011.  I am a member of a congregation of Catholic women--a vowed religious. The number they are calling is the vocation office of my religious community. Luckily, I have Caller ID and do not pick up the phone. I turned off my answering machine because of the harassing, angry and threatening messages.

Dont know why they are calling.  I have arrangements set up with all creditors and not behind.  I have been phone scammed before.  Will not fall for it again.  Do not give out personal information of any kind.  If they claim it is a legal debt they need to send certified information to the address they have on file.

Left no message,  Called back and Said looking for Tina, and or a Patrick.  Removing the numbers supposedly

These numbers are all from Global Collections in Markham.  They are also conected to Natale Law Firm, who regularly send out false court documents to threaten you under the name of the company they bought the debt from.  Both Natale and Global have over 30 unresolved complaints against them with the BBB and they refuse to address them.  Both have an F rating.

I just got a call from this number and they left no message but 30 seconds later I get another call that came in as 905 and they left a message.  Something about an Urgent Business matter that they have on their desk that needs to be resolved.  They never say what company they are calling from so I have no clue if this is a scam or what.  And I definitely don't know anyone from a 201 or a 905 area code.

I received a message on my cell phone today from a Peter Zontoss (sp?).  Said he had an urgent business decision he needed to make and left the number 866-350-4275.  I was assuming it was some sort of credit company.

It's from Global Credit & Collections.  Looks like they are using different phone numbers from around the country to harass people.
I'm also getting calls from 866-350-4275.  Same idiots.
