Received a call from this number this morning, wouldn't tell me what it was about, but knew my street address as well as my place of employment.  I called the phone company and they put a block on this number, they thought it was a scam.  When I told the caller that I knew it was a scam or some sort of fraud he laughed.  Scary, but know some people will be scared enough that they will send money.  This needs to be STOPPED!!!!!!!!!

I woke up to this Lawsuit threatening to take me to jail if I didn't pay this loan I had out. It turns out that its all a fraud. I did my research n found several complaints. seriously who doesn't take credit or debit, this lady wants a Money Pack voucher  and when I asked for their info she gave me an attitude then hang up. Well 'Im here to tell you  that she goes by Kelly Smith and all shes doing is to take your money. I called a lawyer and the police and they both told me the same thing, DO NOT PAY THEM.. There is many things that have to happen before they can try and do what they claim.....

I got many calls also.  What I'm worried about is they had my name and social security number.  They also said there was a warrant out for my arrest.  Couldn't hardly understand them.  I wish I lived near by, I would go pay them a visit.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

This will give everyone a good laugh - so I got a call from these scammers and I tried to talk to them the first time they called and they were rude and made me scared!  I thought I was going to jail for something I didn't do by the way they were talking.  But something in my gut kept telling me this wasn't right.  So, I didn't give and eventually they hung up and then I got  call from the same number only the guy said he was Mike Anders - a detective from the LAPD (this guy sounded just like the guy I was talking to before...hummm...not to mention he had a terrible accent)....So, I asked Mike for his badge number and his sargents name...which he gave me (badge number something like B29 and some name like Joe Brown)....and then he told me to wait at work because the LAPD were coming to pick me up.  I said "okay"....being is I live in another state 1,000 of miles away...I guess I would be waiting for a long time!!  I'm sure the LAPD has the funds to fly out and pick me up for the $300 loan I guess I didn't pay back (which I did)...I'm sure I am at the top of their list of criminals.  Makes me kind of chuckle thinking about it!!  Now, I do not answer my phone when they call!!

This same number called me as well telling me somebody has a lawsuit against me andif i dont pay somebody will show up at my door to arrest me...is this true,should i be worried at all because they had my address and my social?

Called and had all my personnal information. Called numerous times and was treated like trash---who are these people and how do they stay in operation??

Yep - just got about 7 calls in a row on my cell phone from them.....I never answer!  I also made the mistake of getting a payday loan (and yes I paid them back)....I know it is un-nearving...but try not to answer the phone and never give them money.  If you really do owe on a loan it is within your rights to have paperwork sent out to you - you are not going to be arrested at home or at work - it doesn't work that way!!  The truth is - if you were really being sued you would have received paperwork regarding the lawsuit either by certified mail or hand delivered by a messenger!!

Yep, I got a call just like what you see in the letters above, a guy who can't speak English properly -- threatening a lawsuit and arrest and all of that -- the same idiot called me a few weeks ago from a 770 number.  I made the mistake of getting a payday loan through the internet  -- I got the loan, but my SSN leaked out -- I called the cops, but unless the person makes a death threat, there's not much they can do about it -- but take careful notes of when he calls you and what he says,  There are phone harrassment laws.   Watch your Caller ID when someone calls, and have your answering machine take care of the call if it's "out of state" or "uniknown caller".

A MAN CALLED ME FROM THIS NUM WITH SEXUAL HARRASMENTS.

I have gotten these types of calls for over 4 years, ever since I applied for a payday loan on the internet.  These people are scammers and they are a large telephone banks in India trying to steal your money.  Remember, you cannot be arrested for failure to pay your bills.  I wish our government would apply some political pressure on India to close up this dishonest industry which seems to be flourishing and is hurting many American citizens.

they called me, then transferred me to the "state attorneys office" - they told me i was going to have papers served to me tomorrow at work if i didnt pay, and they wouldn't explain what the bill actually was- someone with indian accent though.  i lied and said i was married to a cop and this sounded like fraud.  they immediately hung up.  total scam.

This has been an issue for me for over 2 yrs. this is 3rd time these scammers keep calling me on my personal phone and every day at work. I have reported in past obviously nothing is being done. It started with a scam connected to Advance America though I didnt have any loans or outstanding loans. It was a payday loan I had with CashNetUsa/leaked info from online application. Advance America and CashNetusa have been aware of issue but this has gone on for way to long. They are barely understandable and middle eastern accents, always different names. They say they are with federal Investigation department. I have reported to athorities and the FEDERAL TRADE REGULATION. Its humiliating and I cant bare it anymore that I have to deal with this just cause my information was leaked from the internet for applying for something I needed do at that time. I need my same number because of my job and business cards,etc. And something needs to be done. there are different numbers and most you cannot call back, another number is415-952-5630

They have been trying this scam for some time.  They called me last year from a different number and I called them and told them that I knew it was a scam and to stop calling me.  They continued to call me and I reported them to the NYS Attorney General's Office as well as the BBB, that finally got them to stop calling me.  They even started calling my job.  The funniest of it all was when the first person called she didn't even leave a phone number and I couldn't even understand what she was trying to say.

Call states that his name is something Johnson, talked to fast, states that he is calling from a law firm and that some loan company has filled a lawsuit against me. I tell him that I don't know what he is talking about and that he won't stop talking so I hang up. He calls back and tells me that I need to listen to him I tell him no that he needs to listen that I don't know how he got my information and that if he doesn't leave me alone that I am going to file a report on him, he then asks to speak with my surpervisor, I ask him what for and hang up on him again. He calls back again I hang up on him..how can people do this something needs to be done about this.

I recieved a call from them today and they couldn't even pronounce my last name so they didn't even bother to say it or attempt to sya it.  I could barely understand a word he said that I my attorney needs to contact them or I am going to be in big trouble.  I have been sued before and I know how the process goes.  You have to recieve a certified letter that you have to sign for or be served in person.  you will also get a letter in the mail and it will be legit. Stupid people

God DAMIT !!! I receiving the call every time.They ask for my attorney name and telling me I getting sue for fraud from a loan company.That I didn't got money from !!! Bubble, its a scam, I blew up there phone and herass them and they kept telling me f you add whole, and I threatened legal action on them and they stopped. I continue to recieve phone calls on my mobile from this number saying it was Mark Johnson who had a strong Indian accent calling from the Legal Investigation Department and I am being sued.

I continue to receive calls from this number stating I owe money to us cash advance and I will be arrested for non payment. Well I've never received aloan from the company. Not only that, but whoever the foreignere are they are calling me all kinds of names and rude and disrespectful...I want this to stop

This number is connected to overseas, Someone named Marc Johnson with an Indian accent called and said he was from a Law Firm and has a case pending in my name. This is a scam to collect money from you so don't answer or reply.

unknown investigator call my daughter and scared her into believing she would be going to jail and loose her job if she didnt pay an unidentified debt she owed, debtor was a "client." and she only had a few hours to get them the money before warrant of arrest would be presented.  un- fortunately my daughter pd them some money, so scared she forgot i was a government law enforcement officer.   so now its my turn to collect a owed debt
