Harassment! Collection company that doesnt exist

They constantly change numbers.  The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY does not work with them.  They will not remove you from their list and will either hang up on you if you ask or say they will, but won't.  I talked to the NC Attorney General's office and they say they cannot find them since it's all offshore and constantly changing.  They said that these companies will steal your cc numbers and clean you out.  Nothing they can do.  This whole thing drives me nuts.  I have tried the "waste their time" tact and figured out that it only wastes my time.  I have tried yelling, but it only scares my dog.  I have just recently used the most vile epithets that I could imagine with them and it freaked out one of their reps once.  Mostly, it did make me feel better for venting, but now my dog refuses to talk to me until I wash my mouth out with soap.

Don't go to a lot of expense to buy a bull horn or such, just do what the police told my grandmother to do when she was getting obscene phone calls - get a whistle (even a cheap plastic one if it's big enough) and blow it in their ear.  Do it everytime they call.  Bet they won't continue very long.

Too funny

Just called me...Supposedly some unknown (ie they didn't say) credit card company that has tried to contact me "several times" regarding lowering my % rate on all my cards. You could press 1 to speak to an operator...because if it was that important a person just wouldn't call. Hope no one falls for this.

I have recieved many calls from this number. Just as everyone else has said when you ask to be taken off their list they hang up. Next time tehy will get an earful with a whistle.

Etrade on caller ID - Automated call  requesting I  stay on line for a courtesy message from my credit card company - final message, they have been trying to get ahold of me.  For fun I stayed.

African American male came on the line, when pressed by me  if he was from my credit card company, he kept saying he represents all credit cards companies, I asked if he was from MC, he hung up on me.

I also go the recording saying they have been trying to reach me concerning my credit card and that i needed to speak with them before it was discontinued.  I pressed the 1 to speak with someone, told them I didn't want the service and started to tell them to remove my name when they hung up on me.

Got this call May 20th at 3:28 pm.
Didn't answer because of the area code.
Kinda wish I did now so I could mess with them :P

Just got a call from these people, read all this didn't answer, sounds like they are phishing for CC info to use it, total scam, I would recommend filing harassment reports to the police if you get continued calls from them.

File a complaint if you are registered on do not call list.

Someone claiming to be Dexter and William Parker continues to call me from this number. I have asked them to stop calling. I am being harrassed.

I got a call from this number with the same recorded message. I pressed 1 and when the person answered, I asked to be removed from the list and I was hung up on.

On do not call list. Have asked several times to have my nimber removed from their data base. All requests have been ignored.

Ditto - Spam calls

They keep calling me but don't leave a message. When I call the number back, it rings forever & then a message comes on that says "your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and...."

These calls are based and started at India.  One of my friends makes money doing this.  He told me that they called a phone number that automatically dial people's home/cell numbers in US.

I checked yellowpages.com and got "no business listed under this number". This company has been pestering my mom for ages but she does not answer the phone. They call on her cell phone to waste her minutes. All our phones are on the federal Do Not Call registry, but the telemarketers and donation chasers keep calling anyway. Aggravating to say the least!!!

got a call from this number on my cell phone, saying they could lower my credit cards , i hit the 1 to talk to someone about removing my number from  their list and he got really loud and mad and hung up on me.

keep calling my wife answered no reply, if it is some one claiming to lower my credit cards it kinda funny I don't have any. Wish the quit calling called everyday for 5 days now.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  It is "account services" with an offer to lower my credit card interest rates to 4.99%.  I have no credit card balances..... interesting.  Anyway, you can select 1 to talk to a representative, when someone picked up, I told them I wanted my number removed from their call list & she hung up on me.

I too received a call from 201 942-2887 with a hang up once I said I was on the Do Not Call Registry. This has been going on for months from multiple numbers with the same message. What good is Do Not Call if they're not looking into these scams!

Has called my cell several times. Hangs up when I try to answer.

Don't know what's going on, but in the last week, I've received calls from three different unknown numbers, on my cell, which is on the DNC list. I never used to get bogus calls on my cell.  I don't answer unless I can see what company it is. I got software from Verizon called Do Not Disturb, loaded it into the phone, I add each number to it as they come in and then block them.  Works great!
