I can't really block incoming phone calls... my Samsung cell phone cost only $29.99 at Target. But it does allow me to silence the ring of selected phone numbers. So now these idiots can call me around the clock, and my phone will not make a sound. Any other phone number still rings merrily and loudly. It is a simple and - to my mind - elegant solution to an annoying problem

i get a call from this # (or variations of it multiple times a day, sometimes after 8-8:30pm and on weekends. it is really frustrating and they never leave a message. my number is registered with the do not call registry, please get them to stop calling

I have no debts.  I have an excellent credit rating.  Beginning June 21, 2013 I began receiving calls from this phone # (201) 942-4418.  On several sites on the internet this number is labeled for what it is -- a scam.  The caller never leaves a message.  Many have sent comments describing how, if one does answer the phone when this caller calls the caller takes one of a number of actions: the caller disconnects, the caller claims they are a debt collector and if the person they have called claims they do not have any debt the caller claims they do and if the person does not "pay" they will double the number of times they will call.  The phone of mine which they call is on the Do Not Call Registry.  And the calls being placed by this number to my number are thus illegal as the number does not fall under any category that allows for an exception to the rule of law established by the Do Not Call Registry.  Thus, these actions are illegal and fraudulent on both a State and Federal level.  In addition such efforts constitute harassment.  I have contacted the FTC.  Several people have noted online that they intend to pursue any and all legal action to stop this, pursue criminal charges and compensation.  Certain websites claim they will provide the callers name and address but only for a fee.  This may be part of the scam.  I have been a loyal Verizon customer for many years.  I ask that you please do everything you can to stop this unwarranted and unjustifiable harassment and illegal action.  Thank you in advance for your efforts.

They have many different numbers all starting with the (201) area code. I will report all of their numbers. This harassers will continue to call multiple times a day every day, when you answer you will hear music and a recording asking you to please hold, when someone finally answers they yell "hello" as if you just called them, then a rude ignorant trashy sounding female will proceed to pretend she's looking for someone at your number by a fake name or by various fake names whenever you answer the call. She will yell at you and try to argue with you when you tell her that she has the wrong number-to take your name off their calling list and do not call back. They harass and keep calling. Here are some other numbers:201-499-7970, 201-942-4418, 201-942-4414.

Been receiving calls from them 2 to 5 times a day. I usually don't answer anymore but when I do they hang up or ask for the same person that I have been telling them for months doesn't live here. So today I decided  to redial them at least 50 times. I waited for them to pick up and kept hanging up on them or I told them that I'm just wasting there time like they do to me. Got a couple of nasty remarks but at least I know I'm pissing them off. Tomorrow another 50.

I called and asked they remove my number from their system.  They asked if I was an individual and I replied with "No".  Hopefully this will resolve the issue. But my guess is they are a collection agency with fancy titles "Diversified Consultant"  These are BLOOD hounds like any other.

Holy crap!!! These people are killing me! Even on the rare occassion that I answer- they still don't speak! Never, ever leave a message. Get on average of 4-6 calls a day.  In fact, I called my phone co., and they have put this number on block- so, they can't/won't call anymore. However, for some odd reason- will take up to 30 business days! Something I don't understand........to be continued

These people call me at least 3 times every day. For what I have no idea, because I refuse to answer the phone. This is just plain harassment. I dont know if anyone else is experiencing this as well, but this number  1(866)-720-1471 will call me twice first, and then (201)-942-4418 will call me soon after. I just turned 18. I dont owe anybody anything. Especially since I dont have a job yet lol. Why someone would harass another human being like this (because thats what this is in my opinion) is beyond me! Its gotten to the point where if they dont stop, Im going to have to go with my parents to get a lawyer to see what my options are. And that really isnt worth all the annoyance and frustration :/

These people call my house 6-8 times a day 7 days a week. Caller ID display reads SPAM sometimes, occasionally it will read DITCH, but most often it's just the phone number. Why on earth would I answer a call that tells me it's "SPAM"or "Ditch"?? Seriously annoying.

These scumbags somehow set their phone so caller id reflects a permutation of my son's name with a slight misspelling as if to give the impression he's calling.  This is frightening on a number of levels and I'll be reporting them to every resource I can find.  If they do it again, my lawyer will be after whomever they are.

Learn to stop calling strangers and get a real job, otherwise get used to the abuse, you deserve every bit of it and more.

If you can't take the heat get out of the boiler room. You talk and act liek a scammer, and your so-called jobs reeks of scam. You will be dealt with accordingly. Your mom must be sooooo proud LOL.

all you have to do is call the number back and ask them nicely to remove your number off their call list
they arent rude, unless you have an attitude, learn how to speak to people inorder to get what you want, otherwise all youll have is two angry people.

I receive a call from this number once or twice a day. I answered once and a machine just said, "hello." I realized it's a spam call...so I just silence it. It's really annoying!!

Yup, it's a collection agency apparently using college level kids to do phone collections.
And when they call to collect and you tell them to go screw they program their little
advertising machine to just call you. Apparently this tactic is suppose to drive you insane
after a few weeks and then when they call and you actually speak to someone, you're suppose to pay them.

I told the kid on the phone "You and (insert company name here) aren't getting a dime...Not a dime"
The Child-like voice on the other end: "Oh ya, we'll see about that"

These people keep calling to find some person that doesn't even live here. They've probably been doing it over a year. I've told them but they don't seem to.. care.

They are persistent enough I believe they are debt collectors.
