The Job is Urgent probably in a months it all depends on the studio agent so you got much time to prepare for it, we would be handling the wardrobe and MUA, no nudity, fetish, bondage, escort and other adult content stuff.

Same story, it seems, as the first two comments on here. I was skeptical because of the grammar in the message so I decided to Google the number...good thing I did.

Wow, my husband just rec'd the same modeling crap from someone who calls himself John Ambruz.  He was told he'd receive over $1200 to model some clothing. All of a sudden, we get a check in the mail for over $2800 asking us to deposit this crap in our bank, take out what's owed and send the rest to shoot supervisor via western union. I found it funny in the letter that at one point the pronoun used for the superviser was"her" and later on they said "his." Come on people which is it if you're going to run a scam you'd better proofread. The check was also listed in with the names of a married couple who were supposedly so called sponsors from IL, but when I google their name the city the was correct but the state was FL.  If they were legit they would have the bank list the correct state on their check. Please don't fall for this mess.  God bless all of you who made comments about this fraud, thank you so much!

Please don't put those checks into your accounts!!!They are most likely fraudulent(even though they may look real).My husband almost made the same mistake while trying to sell a stroller on Craigslist a supposed "buyer" sent a check in the amount that was WELL over the amount he listed the stroller for.The person also asked him to deduct the money for the stroller and send the balance via Western Union.In the end it was a fraud...google western union/check frauds and you will see for yourself!

I just received a check for 2895.80 and I was told to deposit the check into my account. I also was told to deduct the amount that was owed to me and then send a western union amount to some other person.

They emailed me as well... I gave them my name and address and I got a check delivered from UPS in the amount of $2,981.81... I tried calling them this afternoon and it says the number is disconnected. I don't know what I should do. Any suggestions?

The gimic is exaty what the poster before you explained.

The postal orders are fake.  They may look good, but they are fake.  If you cash them they will bounce.  It may take several weeks or months, but eventually they will bounce and the bank will come back to you to get the cash.

While those fake checks are floating through the check clearing system the scammers who sent them to you will find some way to get you to give them money or something else valuable.  Maybe they'll claim they overpaid you.  Or they'll pick up the valuable furnature you are selling.  Then they will vanish.

By the time their checks come back as fake the scammers will be long gone, along with the money or goods you "sold" them.  The bank will get their money back from you, and you'll be out the value of whatever you gave the scammers.

well I got a letter from 1-201-984-7445 with two USPS postal money orders in it that look good to me. So whats the gimic here it ask me to send an email but there was to email addresses

Variations on this scam have been plaguing the industry for the last year or so. The scammers go to modeling and actor websites and then contact everyone with these bogus modeling and acting job offers; after they get your contact information, they probably won?t steal your identity, but they will try to trick you out of your money using a convoluted check-fraud and wire-transfer scheme.

Although these particular form-letter ?modeling job? emails are used for people found on acting and modeling websites, they have other versions of the same email for other types of people ? for instance, after some research we found out that websites for people that have Pets for sale are having similar problems (the scammers send an email saying, ?I?d like to buy your pet, please email me your address so I can send you a check?) and many users of sites like Craiglist are running into very similar scams (the wording in the emails is often nearly identical to the modeling-scam emails you received ? they just switch out ?Back Stage? with ?Craiglist? and ?Modeling job? with ?I want to buy the product you have,? etc.).

The con artists will send you a check for a ton of money, and then they?ll say, ?Oh, we accidentally overpaid you, but go ahead and deposit the money in your bank. But please send us some of the overpayment amount back by Western Union wire-transfer.? If you hesitate, they then get really nasty and insistent. Soon after you end up wiring them the money via Western Union, you?ll get a call from your bank informing you that the check you deposited in the bank has turned out to be fake or stolen. The scammers end up with the money you wired them; and you end up with negative dollars in your account and your bank investigating why you?re depositing bad checks. And Western Union will say they can?t track down where the money really went to without a court order; although the scammers will give you a U.S. address to wire the money to, wired money can actually be picked up anywhere in the world.

The scammers constantly change their names, email addresses, and the company names they use in their emails, in order to avoid detection.

I'm a certified nurse.  He was going to be on vacation, supposedly, here in hawaii and needed me to watch his dad for him.  He doesn't return phone calls and his writing in his email is that of a 7 year old. I will like to inform you that Swipha company deals with different brands of art and painting.We are using this means to inform you that the image company Works intend to spread its campaign in art and painting to other European countries such as Germany and Poland, and you have been invited to come work with us on a photo shooting and the shoots would be used for our catalog and billboards that would be placed in various cities of Europe and here in the States.

The company management would provide you with a make-up artist, hair stylist, photographer, attire (clothing), a studio would be rented by the project supervisor in your city and an appointment would be set-up for the shoot prior to the shooting date, so that you can both meet up at the location and have the shoot done, all shoots would hold in your city meaning no need for you to travel.

 The project supervisor travels from one city to another for photo shoots(take note), and as soon as you are booked he will be coming down for the shoots. I have received several emails all from different people.  They are praying on gullible models just starting out that may not know any better.  They have found me on several modeling sites & the emails are from different people, but the same type email.  When they told me they would send me the studio fee to pay the studio & that they would provide the address where to send the fee, I knew right then it was a scam.  They want you to deposit a bad check & then immediately send payment to the "studio".  I pretended to be dumb & told them I don't use checks, onle debit cards & why couldn't they pay the studio direct. I never heard back from them.  The best thing to do I mark these emails as spam.  No one makes an offer like this without meeting you first or asking for resumes or additional photos.  I even asked for their website address to check them out & it was no surprise their site was down for improvements.  How convenient.  They still could have given me the address if it existed.  If you are a model & they say they saw you on one of the sites you are a member of, immediately send a copy of the email to that website to advise them of this fraudulent act so they can send out emials to the members warning them of this scam.  I also forward the emails to spamcop.  If you get duped, go to the FBI web scam site & make a complaint online.
