How do you like being robbed by social workers? I am disgusted with the NASW. There are many great people very qualified to do social work and who have done social work for many years. Some of these people I have trained and are some of the best in the field. Yet, the NASW in order to protect it?s turf has taken credentialing to a ridiculous bureaucratic high that prevents people from getting the help they need and prevents sociologists, psychologists and others from practicing without their redundant credentials. They are counterproductive and unnecessary. Stop trying to pretend social workers are more they they are. I taught social work and worked as a social worker for 20 years but I would advice any new social work major to bypass this field because of the NASW and go into psychology if they want to do counseling, or grief counseling, or marriage and family. The NASW is a bureaucratic entity with no merit. Do not join. Do not pay any dues to this sham of an organization. If they call again I'm not answering.

Receive call from 202 204 9251 frequently, usually don't answer but today I did. There was no one there.

Looks like it's NASW calling about membership renewal....  Never leaves a message.. quite annoying especially since I renewed on line!

I keep getting calls from here regarding my re-instating my membership in NASW.  I was going to, but since I have been getting these calls so much, I think I will just chill out for awhile with my membership.

Read the posts for this phone number that calls that hangs up when I answer. I am a NASW member but I find this tactic to be rude and counter-productive.

They called me REPEATEDLY and never left a message.  I finally called them back and was told that it was a "courtesy call" because my membership is due in three weeks.  I was told that I could ask to have my number removed from their list but that it is an automated system so they do not know when the calls will stop.

Thanks so much for posting this!  I was getting really upset.  They have been calling for over a week.  3-4 times daily.  I am sorry to hear at the NASW has taken to such negative measures .

Got a call from them, I could not hear what they were saying, and they hung up on me.

thanks for posting this- I was a member of NASW but yeah...they need to quit calling and not leaving a message- that is just not very professional SW behavior.

I was quite concerned about the frequent calls from this unknown number.  No message was ever left. Reading some of the other posts it may be NASW as I have been a member in the past. Very odd however not to simply leave a message.  I find it hard to believe they expect individuals to pick up unknown numbers these days.

I returned the call and it's the NASW, National Association of Social Workers, of which I am a member.  They called me daily, never leaving a message.  The time I caught the call in time to answer, they hung up on me.  I finally had to call back.  They were bugging me about membership dues that were already paid.
