This guy called me today . He could barely speak English and he started accusing me of all the fraud etc. (there was background noise of a call center) He also gave me some phony Case ID.  I called back from two different phones just to check...In one of them I got the voice mail box of Office of David Miller...and on the other I got a voice mail box of some Criminal department of IRS.

Wish the smart guys at NSA and FBI catch these crooks and put them behind bars for life?

>>> ... if i dont want to be charge nor go to court i have to pay $2,0000 in 45 mins or IRS will send an arrest warrant out for my arrest. <<<

Here's something posted on the IRS web site just today from:
http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Releases- ... Scams-Lead-List
"IRS Releases the ?Dirty Dozen? Tax Scams for 2014; Identity Theft, Phone Scams Lead List
"IR-2014-16, Feb. 19, 2014
"WASHINGTON ? The Internal Revenue Service today issued its annual ?Dirty Dozen? list of tax scams, reminding taxpayers to use caution during tax season to protect themselves against a wide range of schemes ranging from identity theft to return preparer fraud.
"The Dirty Dozen listing, compiled by the IRS each year, lists a variety of common scams taxpayers can encounter at any point during the year. But many of these schemes peak during filing season as people prepare their tax returns.
"Taxpayers should be on the lookout for tax scams using the IRS name,? said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. ?These schemes jump every year at tax time. Scams can be sophisticated and take many different forms. We urge people to protect themselves and use caution when viewing e-mails, receiving telephone calls or getting advice on tax issues.?
...

Here is #2 on the dirty dozen list in that news release:

"Pervasive Telephone Scams
"The IRS has seen a recent increase in local phone scams across the country, with callers pretending to be from the IRS in hopes of stealing money or identities from victims.
"These phone scams include many variations, ranging from instances from where callers say the victims owe money or are entitled to a huge refund. Some calls can threaten arrest and threaten a driver?s license revocation. Sometimes these calls are paired with follow-up calls from people saying they are from the local police department or the state motor vehicle department.
"Characteristics of these scams can include:
"Scammers use fake names and IRS badge numbers. They generally use common names and surnames to identify themselves.
"Scammers may be able to recite the last four digits of a victim?s Social Security Number.
"Scammers ?spoof? or imitate the IRS toll-free number on caller ID to make it appear that it?s the IRS calling.
"Scammers sometimes send bogus IRS emails to some victims to support their bogus calls.
"Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site.
"After threatening victims with jail time or a driver?s license revocation, scammers hang up and others soon call back pretending to be from the local police or DMV, and the caller ID supports their claim.
"In another variation, one sophisticated phone scam has targeted taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country. Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver?s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.
"If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here?s what you should do: If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 800-829-1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue ? if there really is such an issue.
"If you know you don?t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you?ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
"If you?ve been targeted by these scams, you should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their ?FTC Complaint Assistant? at FTC.gov.  Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint."

I suggest that you follow the instructions in the article and call the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484 to report the incident.  Of course, if the caller is out of the country, it might be hard for them to find, extradite, and prosecute him.

Another lying scammer hiding behind an untraceable magicJack number trying to scare you into paying right away without having a chance to verify his threats.  Here's a link to a simple way to check for magicJack numbers:
www.phonevalidator.com

He could be calling from anywhere in the world, but he picked a 202 area code number for his magicJack because he wants you to think he is calling from the IRS.

All you can do is report them to the real IRS, FTC and also tell the caller you know they're scammers, you've reported them and they will not see a dime from you.  The real IRS also doesn't operate like this - if you owe taxes or backtaxes and penalties, they mail you a letter asking you to either pay the balance in full or set up a payment plan.

A lot of these groups are criminal extortionists running of out India and Pakistan.  Not much you can do except complain to authorities and maybe get a call-blocker.  These people are terrorists and should be treated as such.

Caller says he is from the Criminal Investigation Department of the IRS. Says there are serious financial accusations made against me. I called back in the evening. Voice mail says it is the desk of Jason Fletcher. The voice on the original voicemail was obviously a non-native english speaker sounded like some Polish / East Block accent.

This guy called about a money laundaring case against me. There is no prove of transaction or letter stating to address the issue. He wanted me to call that number to see the case details. Mind you the call came on phone as a washington DC call. These people should be stopped from making such accusations over the phone. It is not appropriate to involve innocent ppl in such a thing over these herandous calls.
