Got a call from someone claiming to be an Agent Frank Llewinsky from the FDA.  They were looking for the former owner of my cell phone number, not me.  I called back and left a message that they had a wrong number if trying to reach that person (did not leave my name, but probably wouldn't have bothered returning the call if I had read this info first).  If they call again I'll file a complaint with the police or FBI, whichever makes the most sense.  I'm pretty sure "Impersonating a Federal Agent" is a federal level criminal offense, and that the FBI would want to be shutting down scammers like this.

I received a voicemail message from an individual calling himself  "Agent Ron Belitzki" of the FDA and asking for a call back to discuss a joint FDA-DEA investigation.

@john Are you kidding?  They couldn't have arrested your son because it's a scam. Or did they arrest him because he is running the scam? I ordered some allergy medication over the internet once and that's how they got my number.  It was 8 years ago and they still call and tell me there is a package addressed to me with narcotics in it that they confiscated at customs.  The guy that called me was from a different number but i also got a call from this number ( older gentleman no accent. ) The other guy had a mexican accent said he was agent martinez and a package with oxycontin was addressed to me and he accidentally said he was with the FDA tho he meant DEA.  he said there are alot of americans sitting in Dominican prisons right now and the Dominican Republic is going to have me arrested and deported (the americans don't want me) but he can help me get out of it if I send him money.  If you call the number back it sounds very professional, they answer DEA or FDA and have a menu of agents.  It seems legit except for the fact that police don't take bribes over the phone and if you were caught smuggling drugs into the US, the US would want you, not the country that sent you the drugs.
