I just got off the phone with them and they told me to go to the nearest Walgreens and purchase a green dot card money pack or something like that and put $99 on it or go to Western Union if I wanted to and he will give me more details on where to send $200 for state taxes and fees so I asked  why can't you just mail the check to me and he got an attitude with me and said ma'am I can tell that you're not serious about this so if you don't want your grant money  there's other people that can use this money so we can mail it to you but it will take like 45 days so you should really go to Western Union.I already knew it was a scam and I'm just having fun with him so I just went back and forth with him about why he can't mail me the check because I'm not giving you my bank information and I'm not going to deposit $99 on a card..just mail the check to me. so he got an attitude with me and told me that he would take me off the list and if I want to go through Western Union to give him a call back and he gave me his extension (1004) his name is James Hardy...lol.Total Scam. I thought it was hilarious!

So i got a call yesturday and like a single mother needing money to support her childen i got as much as i needed after they said something about a last 499$ for another grenn dot money pak i told my mom and she said scam then i told them i wanted my money back but then they said it was a 99$ charge that i had to pay to get my money back. they had gave me a fake number to a "federal bank" the guy who i first spoke to said his name was alex spencer and so now im broie i fell for it. but its wrong what they do! please get them.

IJUST GOT THIS CALL FROM 202-470-6103. TELLING ME I WILL GET 9,000FROM THE FEDERAL GOV. BUT IN ORDER TO GET IT I NEED TO SEND 199.00 I TOLD THEM I DIDNT HAVE THAT AMOUNT ALL I HAD WAS 75.00HE SAID SEND THAT. IT WOULD BE OK. BUT WHEN I GET MY MONEY TO SEND THEM THE BALANCE OF THE 199.00. GO TO WALGREENS AND PURCHASE A GREEN DOT PAPER VOUCHER FOR 75.00. THEN GO TO WESTERN UNION AND A CHECK WILL BE THERE WAITING ON ME. I IMMEDIATELY WENT ON LINE TO SEE IF THIS WAS A SCAM. AND LOOKIE HERE BIG AS CHIT A BIG FAT SCAM.

I just got scamed and lost $300.00 got a phone call from 202 area code claiming to be from Washington DC student grant department offering $7500 in grant money I believed it because I recently applied for a couple of grants. don't let this happen to you.

Kept getting calls for 2 weeks from this unknown caller never answered because I thought it was someone ignorant playing on my phone . . . I finally answer it was this guy with a weird accent saying he's calling from Washington and I've been selected for grant money . . Pls be aware Its a SCAM !

I received a phone call from 202-680-9875 that 1500 people in my area was receiving grant money because they had not filed bankruptcy. The amount to recieve is $10,500 , need $280 on new money pack green dot card for fees. I told "Allen Carter" that I did not have it, he said he would leave the file open until called back.

I just got a call from a no caller ID number. I was told I had just won a grant of $8,300. All I had to do was show proof of ID and buy a green dot money card and put $149 on it and I could have my money in a cashiers check. The number I was told to call when I had the money for it was 7869912744.

numbet they use is 202 407 ?9711 guy name mark told me to go to nearest bank wit id and a greendot.card wit 210.00 to open up limtiion amount...let him know when i get to back so he call them...and they put put 9400.00 on  card and i dont have pay money bac

I got a call yesterday please dont belived them they just want to still your money his name was gorge wilson and he was  calling from a private number but after everyhing he gived this number for me to called to confirm my 7000 thousand grands  from the us government it was a llady who answer this was th number e number 201 6160043 and she was telling meto go to the  near Moneyram around me but she told me I need tocall  whenever i get there Bit was not true so dont believe them is all fake

They said same thing here. Funny accient and they were a lot of them(could hear office background). They said go to closest Walmart and deposite $280 and buy a vocher for $5 . I told them i didnt have the money so then they told me to borrow money from family and friends. And they also said dont tell anyone about the information that was given to you.

Total scam.  Operated out of India.  They are trying to get your money.

Ignore them this is a total scam being run out of India.   Nobody in India is going to send you anything, but they will try to get you to give them money.

I could be wrong but I think these people are buying lists from companies we deal with, like insurance companies, loans, mortgages, etc.

When receiving calls, emails  or letters that sound too good to be true, please, don't believe them. Think Maria... why would someone just give money away? Nowadays, nothing is really free unless it's not worth anything to begin with. If someone says they need you to pay to get something you didn't ask for, or they want bank information or other sensitive information, don't believe them. No one gives anything anymore except for advice. Don't believe in the free money scams not the instant winner scams. No one gives anything for nothing. I just received a call 10 mins ago. Saying I was getting $7500 in government grants because I hadn't filed bankruptcy, I haven't been in jail, I had paid my taxes; all I have to do is go to my closest Walmart put a $300 deposit down and I would get $7800 back. That would include my deposit, I started laughing and told them this was a scam.
