I have been recieving multiple calls from these trolls, They claim to be the IRS and threaten to bring down the wraith of the IRS on my head and Ruin my life.  First thin I noticed,  they always identify themselves as someone from the IRS.  I have had contact with the IRS before when they call they identify themselfs as "Robert Smith from the Internal Revenue Department"  not Bob Smith form the IRS.    Also when the IRS calls looking for you they know who to ask for they already have all your information.   Lastly the IRS usually sends a Certified letter for first contact thier contact information.   Usually that contact is the regional office or the closest city office.   Very rarely will you get a call from the DC office about piddling taxes of fines we may owe.  The DC office has bigger fish to fry.. They also never ask for bank information ovet the phone and any information they may ask for would be income verification or maybe clairying deductables or investments.  

If you give more information than is asked for on you taxes, which they should already have over the phone you are asking for trouble.

Haha I got the same call twice this week and one today so I'm keep calling him also and now he keeps hanging up on me

Please send an email to ReportAbuse@magicjack.com! I did this for the sam type call from 201-241-0617 and they shut that number down. I know that these scammers will keep getting new numbers, but at least it will slow them down a little.

I got a call from this number today. Supposedly an Officer from IRS was calling. I said I would call IRS on Monday and he responded that someone from IRS would come by and arrest me and imprison me for 5 years. Today is Saturday. I will call IRS on Monday and report this call.

I got a call from this 202-241-4918 today, 5/16/2014 and left a message on my voicemail to call this number which is supposedly an IRS number. As I communicated with IRS with a letter last week to settle an underpayment of tax  and wrote on the letter my phone number where I could be reached, I thought the call was really from  the IRS. When I called the number the same guy which sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent. At first he sounded legit but when he demanded payment right away and threatened me and my wife with arrest I realized he was a scammer.  I played along for a few minutes but when he got frustrated that he could not get any money from me he just called me a mother f^$%er! After a few minutes I called the number again with a different phone and the same guy answered and said it was the IRS ligitigation department.

Caller states he is from the IRS.

A David Miller with Indian accent called saying That there were miscalculations in my last year taxes.Just a scam.

Total scam and sounds really scary.  Automated call claiming to be the IRS.  They're not!  If you call back, they Threaten to send the sheriff to your house and arrest you if you don't drive to the bank and get cash immediatelyand have an "IRS agent" come to your house to pick it up!

I just called them back and asked to speak to the guy that called me. It was another Indian man and I could hear other foreign voices in the back ground. I'm pretty sure the calls are coming from India. I asked to speak to Director Miller that called me, and they said that he is not the director. The guy on the phone said that Miller was just joking around. I then asked to speak to the real director because I didn't think it was right for someone on official IRS business to be joking around about their identity. They hung up on me.

I got a call from this number telling me to call another number. I knew it couldn't be the IRS because the two men i spoke with could barley speak broken English. Its a scam

Received call today...dude stated in thick accent..Agent John..blah blah blah...arrest... IRS...ect...
like everyone here I paid my taxes and was annoyed at receiving this call on my day off and from a deep sleep...I call back an sorry peace of ..well you know...answered in that same thick Indian accent...and trust me i am Indian so I know how that accent sound...He then stated he was agent Sam from the IRS...I pretended to be concern and ask if everything was OK he stated that i was dued to pay back taxes and blah blah..he even stated that I must pay now or I will be arrested..again entertaining this lifeless soul I ask for his ID and he blurted out 123467....Really...WOW I taught... Now I'm pissed...   I went on a tryranical rage..and told him that i was going to report him for posing as an agent ...need less to say he hung up .. since I am pissed off an now fully awake...I will call him and harass him ..so I set my phone to auto dail this Jack*** every 15 minutes... ( I have unlimited minutes and block my number),Now agent poor excuse for a life Sam is hanging up on me and telling me not to call...This moron messed with the wrong guy on his day off... Get a life you idiot.....by the way this pimple face d$%& plays the same recording of what is somepose to sound like a busy IRS office every time you call ...so beaware..we need to do something.. I hope this guy burns in the fiery pits of hell.....

Recieved call today from Indian dude with accent... Left message stated his name was john..IRS ....call now...arrest...ect..ect..I was very angry because I pay my taxes on time and like the everyone here I am tired of these Jokers calling.. I decided to call back ..another or same person answer this time he said he was agent same...from IRS I ask for his ID and Location since I have friends who currently are in the Internal revenue servc..he hesitated and then blurted out numbers 123467 ...WoW!!! I told him that he was a scam...and some other choice words...including he was going to be reported to the actual Internal revenue service for posing as an agent. ...Needless the say the SOB hung up...I called again no answer..I figure hey these a***oles wanted call and prank someone so i call them back over and over again  until Agent Sam no hangs up on me...I am tired of these a***oles ...I now setting my phone to call his every 15 minutes on Auto ..hell I have unlimited minutes.. Heather Gray from IRS Office, important legal matter, do not dismiss this call.  Called back threaten to arrest me criminal jail time.  I think its a scam, called the local IRS office, they said they don't arrest for money owed.

I have had two calls. It made no sense at all, but at least the guy on the other didn't threaten me with more than a lawsuit from the IRS.

I got a call from this number 202-241-4918, with A computerized auto message saying that I'll money to the IRS for  taxes and to call back and not disregard this message otherwise they will take legal action.  This is definitely a scam because I've work with the IRS before and this is not how IRS would operate. IRS would always SENDS official letter in the mail in regarding to the matters and in the letter will have a phone number for you to call directly to the IRS to discuss.

And, the IRS never calls but sends a snail mail if there is a problem with your returns.

Got a call from 202-241-4918, it was a recorded message using a female voice.  At the end of the message I pressed " 1 " and a guy came on the line, I told him he would have to wait for just a minute.  Then I checked the phone number on this web-site and saw it's a scam.  I told him I checked his phone number and it's a scam so I asked him for his full name so I could report him to the real IRS, he quickly hung-up on me.

We've gotten two calls from this number (202-241-4918).  I knew it was a scam, as I used to work for IRS and they NEVER call you first about stuff like this.  I just wish the FCC or IRS could find these folks and shut them down.  I think they prey upon older folks.  Kinda stupid,though that they don't answer return calls or allow you to leave a message.  That makes it sound like they are just out to harass people.  That's criminal in my book.

Called and left a message regarding taxes. Called back and the guy could barely speak english said I owe taxes and they are going to sue me. ITS A SCAM!

Update...the guy I talked with said his name is Mark Everson, google it,he's a former IRS commissioner.

We also received calls from 202-241-0617 and 202-241-4918 both caiming to be IRS. One was from India and the other from China. They are apparently using a magic jack registered in DC. Please report to FTC, Treasury Dept., FBI and magic jack. They all have a link to make a report on their websites.

CALLED SAYING I OWED OVER $3000 FROM 2011 AND 2012 TAXES.  MY PROPERTY WOULD BE SEIZED, BANK ACCOUNTS AND CREDI CARDS FROZEN, ARREST WARRANT ISSUED.  THEY STATED SOMEONE CAME TO MY HOUSE IN MARCH AND ATTEMPT PHONE CONTACT BUT NO ANSWER.  IT WAS CLEAR THAT I WAS AVOIDING THE IRS AND INTENTIONALLY DEFRAUDING THEM.

I got the same foreign guy.....had to listen to the message about 10 times and all I ever understood was the phone number,IRS, and.legal action .....I think if it is that important that the IRS in the USA speak with me they would put an understandable person on the line!

Because they don't!  If they had problems, they would snail mail you.
