there should be a law against them lying.  my person said she was an investigator and I was a link in her investigation and needed to call back today or i would go to jail.  I said thank you 3 squares and a private bathroom have a nice day.

I reported these folks to the Attorney Generals Office in Austin, they are investigating them, I spoke to my attorney and he said that they should not be harrassing people at work, they should never ask you for money if they introduce themselves as an "investigator" because they would never ask for money to be sent and then lastly, you should never be threatened that you are going to be taken to jail.....so please report this to the BBB or the Attorney General's Office so the more complaints they get, the more they have on them........so help me out by turning these folks in

I have received several calls of the same nature over the past six weeks.  My feeling is that if it was legit, I would be in jail by now. It's just a scam using scare tactics to make you pay them. They even called me at my job harassing me. I took out several payday loans that I am paying back through a second party company. I called my company and they assured me that it is a scam since they hung up on them twice.

I have also received calls from this number, they are looking for my brother in law and they state that he is in big trouble and could be arrested for crimes involving drugs. They have also called the rest of his family and his job expecting someone to do something about it. I have called Lomax/Polowski/whatever his name is at the time and left him messages to return my call but he wont. Not sure what the scam is but I plan on reporting this number to whatever government agency he claims to be from at the time.

Your full of s***, because if you talk to a lawyer no one can go to jail for not able to pay debts.  Your probbly working for these scammers.. Get a life

I also received a call today from my family stating that the FBI was looking for me. They asked them if I gave them any money?. When I got to the bottom of it I found that they are a collection agency trying to collect funds. Another incident was the other day. The AAAAhole said that he was William Lunden and investigator for white collor crimes and in order to make a payment arrangement he had to ask me some questions 1. where do you work 2. give me names of some references. I told him hell no. If I don't want you calling my job what would make you think I want you to call my friends. (IDIOT). He said ok hold on a minute while I talk with my attorneys.(YEA RIGHT). He kept telling me to cooperate and that threw me for a loop but was still able to see through the bull of cold calling collectors. I told him since he has a job why don't he pay it for me or take me to court. He said that I will have to pay restitution. I told him that at least they give you time to pay and your not pressured. He said OH Im not pressuring you. (REALLY NOW). I hung up the phone. Don't have time.

well.....i dnt know about u guys but these guys may give certain people chances but they are real....last month they put my first cousin away for 2 yrs.....and i wasnt sure that they were real to....i was the one who told him not to pay thinkin these guyz were a scam....i regret that i told him not to pay these guyz....so everyone out there BE AWARE>>>>THESE GUYZ ARE THE BIG BAD WOLFS>>>>

I recieved a call from someone names Adison Steagall stating they have an investigation going that is naming me as a person of interest in white collar crimes in texas and that they will file charges on me if I do not return the call. I know this is a collection agency trying to collect on an unpaid payday loan from 4 years ago. I do also know that here in texas it is hard to file changes on payday loans. Even the county attorney will not accept checks from payday loan companies.

I just got a call from these clowns...the guy mumbled the name of a person he was looking for...I said he had the wrong number...he called me by a name other than mine...I laughed and repeated that he had the wrong number...he then asked me what was so funny...I told him again he had the wrong number, then he hung up. WTF?

What happened after you told them that? Have they continued to call you? Did they file charges like they said they would?

Are you serious? So what they are saying is not true? They say that they would file charges on me and have me arrested with in a matter of 24hrs or more. This was a internet payday loan I took out over a year ago.

I received a call from them today also, stating that they are investigators and they are filing criminal charges on me about a payday loan saying that if I didnt come up with the money by 7 oclock that they would file charges and I would be arrest overnight for the charge. Does anyone know if they are real or telling the truth?

I've already filed a BK (chptr 7) and was just giving them my attorneys info...  They basically tried the scare tactic of we are filing a criminal case against you... we only talk to criminal attorneys...

This is all a crok....  

1)  if they are going to file criminal charges... they already would have
2)  if you have filed a BK with them on it, the only way they get money is through the BK court or scaming you (which this is)
3)  if you haven't filed a BK and owe them money...  they are going to be hard to deal with (as already you can tell they are trying to scare you into paying them -- typical collector tactics).  My way out of my financial mess was a BK...  there are other options...  When dealing with a collection agency never ever give out CC info or checking account info...  send money via money order, cashiers check (I believe one of them has a tracking option which is the best in these cases) if you do send it.  But I would first get an agreement of what you will pay and when and that should also be certified.  Many times these types of collectors will often try to get much more out of you than the original debt.

My particular debt was from Cash Net USA (named on my BK)...  This is a 3rd party collection agency that likely bought the bad debt and is attempting to collect on it.  They would not provide the actual name of the company or the address.  I was told they would not talk to my attorney (though they really need to if they want any money at all), only a criminal attorney...  I told them to file their case then (it would be much easier to deal with an attorney as they tend to be educated and semi intelligent).  For a debt of $300 it's going to go to a small claims court at best (it won't even go there).
