Bwarharhar!  Got that guy today.  Was unfamiliar with this scam but had recently shut down two online pharmacy's websites with long blasts from my Low Orbit Ion Cannon (DDos attack tool).  I guess they finally decided to stop harassing me that way and passed my number to this a**-hat.  Just called him back to mock him about what crappy money he must be making.  Really, this is why (and I told him so) most people shouldn't be criminals, they're just so bad at it.  Well, back to trashing phony online pharmacy sites.  I highly recommend it, it's very satisfying and oh so easy.

Third time I've received a call like this. Ordered ambien online WITH A PRESCRIPTION about 13 years ago. I missed the first two calls and they left the same general message regarding DEA investigation. First time was Special Agent Jimmy Fox, forget the second guys name.

Knowing it was a scam, I recognized the Washington DC 202 area code and figured it was them when they called today. Decided to have a little fun. Today the guy was Robin Williams, so I asked him how Mindy was doing and when his last trip to Ork was.

Gave me the whole schpeel as everyone else has said, I just laughed my way through it. Said, sure, send the cops to arrest me, I'll have coffee ready for them. Said they'll be there in 10 minutes, I said, ooh, ok, I better do my hair. I'm a guy, but this guy had a very sweet, feminine voice. He either has a feminine gene or he's gay, one of the two. So I started calling him sweetie. Oh no problem sweetie, I'll be right hear, come on over. You sound so nice, I hope you're be accompanying them!! I think I heard him laugh on his own, trying to hold it in.

Finally I got bored with it and said, I hope you can sleep well at night, knowing that you are scaring people and stealing from hard working, law abiding citizens. Karma always has a way of coming around, so I'll pray for you, you're going to need it. I read where your threats scared someone so much it gave him a heart attack and killed him and they are now prosecuting that person for murder, so enjoy your days behind bars!! He was speechless, I said have nice day and hung up.

I was called yesterday March 4th, and totally fell for it. I am retired and not very scam savy. I was told I would be going to prison for 5 yrs. for buying medication online 15 yrs. ago. He had me going for 30 minutes.  I called our local police dept. after we googled his #.  When they called DEA agent Paul Davis hung up. He even went so far as identifying my home. What a creep.

Had the same profile of a call on a Friday evening...special agent Frank Thomas, and Paul Davis and Jamie Bush were referenced.  Stated it was a joint op with FBI and CIA, and I could be taken to NY federal building.  Lot's of indicators of a scam, last was stating that I had to pay that night at a Federal Office location inside of a Walmart, and was to call him when I get there, but it had to give him a time.   REALLY?

when I called this number back the guy that called me answered the phone ( I guess the DEA can't afford a receptionist) He asked my name I gave it to him. He asked me to get a piece of paper and pen and write down the information that gave me. he gave me his badge number and name ( Jamie Bush DEA Badge Number3349 ). then he asked why I called and I said " You called ME."  He hung up. This is a scam.

This man said his name was Officer Frank Thomas, DEA agent with District 38. He said it was ongoing criminal investigation and said my nickname. My wallet and contents were stolen 2 years ago. Someone probably has my information. I have never committed a crime or done anything against the law. I did receive scam money orders from on online secret shopper network and took them to the post office immediately. Scammers beware, we are on to you!

Agent "Mark Anderson" called my house claiming that he was from the DEA and conducting a criminal investigation, and that my mother was wanted for questioning. It seemed really bizarre and when I googled the phone number I found that it was a scam. As others have mentioned he called back 10 minutes later (from the same number) claiming to be Officer Frank. When I started asking questions he cursed in another language, asked if I knew what it meant, and then hung up. It was all very strange.
After this happened I called my mom and she said that this same man has been randomly calling our home with the same story and when she confronted him he threatened her.

Money.  He is trying to get money from you.  If you believed the nonsense he was spewing he would give you a chance to avoid arrest by paying the fine now.  That fine would have to be paid by Western Union or Green Dot and sent to someone in the Dominican Republic.

Congratulations for not falling for it.

I've been receiving calls from "DEA agent Tomas Allen" from this number for two years.  He leaves messages that they have a search warrant for my home and a warrant for my arrest.  Once when I answered the call and told him to go ahead and execute the warrants, he said, "Oh, we will."  I called the number back two days ago and heard a message about making and receiving calls anywhere in the US for free by visiting magicjack.com.  I then heard, "The magicjack number you have called has not yet been assigned to a customer.  Please check the number you dialed and try again."  This is obviously a scam of some sort, but I can't figure out what he hopes to get from me.

As a follow-up, my comment today on Intellius is dated. They used to list the number "Agent Thomas" called from as a Drug Enforcement line when I checked over a year ago and then called the real DEA to discover the scam. But Intellius no longer lists that number. They still list this number as a land line. I ponied up about ten dollars to discover that the number is supposedly owned by Elaine Simmons Macmahon with three addresses, two of which are in the general DC area of VA and one of which is in Kansas.  The carrier is listed as YMax Communications Corporation - DC. Either the phone number has been hijacked, or those associated with doing this scamming are about to get identified.

It wouldn't surprise me if these horror stories were not being fabricated by the same SCUM who are trying to extort money from this phone number. The fact "Agent Thomas" has not been handcuffed and imprisoned shows how ineffective the NSA is in being able to halt crime. If this man has a pattern replicated enough to merit all the web postings about this sick creep, the NSA should have spotted him long ago.

These people use disposable phones and fabricated numbers. If you look them up on Intellius (YES- Intellius is a collaborator in this scam) it will show up as a DEA Office. Well, Intellius, it is not a DEA Office, and you ought to be charged with aiding and collaborating when these sickos finally get caught. I hope the feds fine you into next week for helping them look legitimate by posting a fake affiliation with their number.

A number of people order doctor-prescribed prescription drugs through online sources to save money after they learn that they can purchase the prescriptions at rates they can afford. They are not ordering controlled substances and they are not being charged by DEA. Good God. Don't you think that the real DEA has better things to do than to entrap old men who purchase online Viagra?  Give us a break.

The next time "Agent Thomas" calls just tell him that he is a creep, and you will be glad to testify when they catch him.

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT
DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

Perhaps your cousin did get arrested - if he ordered a CONTROLLED substance online with no doctor's prescription.  However, NO ONE is being arrested for ordering non-narcotic prescription drugs online!
