same thing happened to me today and i got a call from a mr william gardner threatening to pick me up from my work and take me in for 30 days, when i told them to provide me with the documentation proving that this infact judgment is true they said they are paperless and couldnt provide anything. phone number is 2022497541 any suggestions?

I am in the U.S. Army and I was with my friend during lunch when he received a voicemail from a man named Samuel Mitchell saying that"if you, or your attorney on record do not return this phone call, I wish you luck as bad events will befall you." This man had had an Indian accent for amn with a caucasion name(First indicator). He threaten my friend with 30 years in prison for money fraud. My friend was taken by surprise and called them back. He had a 45 minute converstation about what he could do to clear his name. He told him to go to the nearest Wal_mart and pick a green dot card, scratch the number off the back, give them the number and they could get the money. We are stationed in the Midwest and "Sam" said that my buddy was from the Northwest. (Second indicator) My friend put "Sam" on speaker and I took it upon myself to google a few of the firms and finance departments he gave my friend to call and settle this problem. There were no such departments that exist...(Thrid Indicator)
After the call, my buddy called his bank and asked if everything in his account was squared away. The lady on the line confirmed and said that there were no problems. (Fourth indicator)
By now, I was pissed. I called from my phone and was connected to the same man my friend spoke to minute prior. I acted innocent and confused saying  that I received a few calls from my phone and that I wish to speak to whoever called. He asked who I was but I asked who he was. He again, asked who I was but I insisted on knowing who the man calling me was.... He said his name was Kevin Hernandez from Gardner & Douglass law firm.(Fifth Indicator) I told him he was full of it and threaten him with the FBI.
25 minutes later, I called from a different phone, altered my voice and told "Sam/Kevin" that my name was Sarah. He asked who my husband was and I said Mark. I acted nice and polite and when I asked his name, he said Glenn.(Sixth Indicator) Then I changed my voice back to mine, and called him out. "So are you Sam? Kevin? or Glenn? Make up your mind! I will be contacting my military lawyers and FBI." Then I hung up.
He called my buddy again 10 minutes later and he asked if he could speak to him. My buddy freaked out and told this fake to stop calling him. "Sam"/"Kevin"/"Glenn" said that it was the first time he ever called but we have the voicemail from the sleezy b*****d. I took the phone from him and asked him if he remembered me. He said some b***s*** in his Indian language and I hung up. I have set a meeting up with my lawyers.This will get resolved!

I received a call from (202) 249-7541 the gentleman stated that he was calling from a law firm. When I asked what law firm he said Gardner & Douglass. Then when I asked him again he he had an affadavit with ny name on it and I was going to be arrested for breaking the law. He could not tell me what law I broke. BEWARE. The name of the phone carrier: Starpower Communications, LLC. and if you call them for information all they want you to do is put you put your number you are calling from in the system.

stated they where with law office of steven mcdonald. stated i owed them money. at first the man said he was with the FBI. this is a total fraud office. they threaten you with things then expect you to pay them. do not accept thier calls.

I just received the same call...a "Samual" who clearly was NOT a Samual...when I asked him about the "pending lawsuit" he ttransferred me to another jerk, who started telling me that I could be arrested at my work, and I am being charged in a lawsuit for writing bad checks, and causing overdrafts.  He claimed it was from some American loan place (sorry, I was driving and talking through the bluetooth).

Got a call from them. Apparently, they got ahold of my info somehow, and claim I owe them $700 dollars. Never had a loan through them. First call went to voicemail, where a "Johnathan Hand" not only threatened to have a sheriff come to my house on Monday, but then said "if you, or your attorney on record do not return this phone call, I wish you luck as bad events will befall you."

They called again after 9 PM and gave me to a "Craig" from the FBI saying I passed a bad check and that I was going to be arrested if I didn't pay $1000 immediately. (I don't know who the person that transferred me was, they had a very terrible accent.) He also mentioned that he could personally appear at my house and cause extreme discomfort. I stalled him and dialed 911 on another line. I was transferred to the local police, and patched the call through. Apparently, "Craig" hung up as soon as the officer announced his name and precinct.

I will be taking this to the real FBI as soon as I can to see what they can do, if anything. This really has to stop. I'm sure this scam scares people, and something should be done about it.

I called the police station to see if i had a warrant out for my arrest an i didnt i think its a scam and they are just wanting us to pay money they said i owed over 650 and were very rude

Not only left a very rude voicemail but called my work, yelled @ the receptionist, told one of my employees I was going to be arrested and when I got on the phone I hung up.  If any of this was legit no company acts this way or doesn't state who they are. What a load of crap.

I received two calls from 202-249-7657, one on my cell and one at work.  Both times I was unable to answer, so a message was left.  Proceeded to tell me his name was Shawn Gibson and he was from a law firm, that I was named the primary suspect in a legal matter which was to be "downloaded" Monday morning.  He needed to talk to me prior to then or have my lawyer call before then or it will proceed.  No info as to what the matter is at all in the message.  Called back twice, never was able to speak to "Shawn", but operator and guy on both messages honestly sounded same, and foreign.  Both times I was asked to hold, with no hold music, but every so often would hear a cracking or popping sound.  I am thinking not only a scam to get me to pay money over the phone, but by keeping me on hold they are able to charge the line some outrageous amount.  We shall see if they call back.

These b*****ds had called n harrased me n told me i was going to be arrested n speny 7months to 3 yrs in jail for a loan i never took out ....these people need to be stopped ..scare the crap out of us n expect us not to come back at them and hang up on us they got to be kidding me!

Don't worry about the jail threats. If they started locking up people who actually owed money, they'd have to build new jails.

If anyone asks for payment ask them for a debt validation letter. (taken from a previous post)

1.    What is the amount of money you say is owed;
2.    Explain and show me how you calculated what you say is owed;
3.    Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say is owed;
4.    Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;
5.    Identify the original creditor;
6.    Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account;
7.    Show me that you are licensed to collect in (your state);
8.    Provide me with your license numbers and registered agent including your agent for service of process.
They'll probably yell, curse, rant,  but they'll know you're not easy pickings.

I hung up and call back I asked the company name and they gave it to me, then i asked where are u located i got transfer and stayed on hold for a min n they hung up. i just call them periodically and harass them just like they harass everyone else. I'm a voice-over artist, so I use different voices, accents, etc etc. When I ask what their location is and what their website is...the dumb bi*** replies back with "why? why do you want to know this." stupid indian c***

I received a call from these a holes saying I owe a loan and I need to pay $750 today to them or else I would be arrested at home or at my work and the kept repeating my job name and address I asked for the a address of the company to send money after they send paperwork showing me I owe and they became very irate she hung up on me I called back and then a man got on saying if I don't pay today I would be arrested at my job or my home and I would be fined up to $10,000 I said I need a number and address because if I'm going to send money I need to see why they hung up on me

harassing phone calls throughout the day stating that they are coming to my house to arrest me for non-payment of a loan ,very rude with a Phillipino/Asian Accent,can somebody do something about these phone calls ?

i got a call from these idiots today, spewing the same rhetoric. I did take out a loan, which I am in the process of paying back, so that did freak me out a bit. I called my lender and told about the situation and they told me NOT TO GIVE THEM ANYTHING. They told me that's not how the collection process works. That if I didn't pay my loan back, there would be penalties and the case would be forwarded to a collection agency. My lender also said, in no situation would this matter ever result in any kind of "wire fraud" charge or any warrants for my arrest. I called back "William Conner," who honestly sounded more like Ramemdeep Pantoonwala and asked for their firms physical address, all the information they had on me, etc etc. He refused and was very rude and told me that If I didn't pay off the debt, that a warrant would be issued.....and get this.....the only way I would be able to pay this is by going to Walmart and get some kind of money wiring card with a code and then call him back and give him the code lol...I called this idiot back and got my gangsta on and he then proceeded to call me a sand n****r. We need to do something about these punk moth******ers.

I received a phone call on my job stating that i had taken out a loan with american cash and that i needed to make a payment of 740+dollars.  I spoke with a Travis Hall from the number of 202-249-7657 ext 616.  he states that the police was going to call my job and get me fired.  i was going to be placed in jail about this and that he was on the phone with his attorneys in my favor.

I received a call from this number from a lady and a ma. He said his name was Chris Walker and gave me an address @ 1500 K Street in DC. the next day they called me from a ca # 760-440-5421. Told me I owed money to a loan co and I would be put in jail on Monday if I didn't pay them.  He said he was a paralegal. When I asked him for the info to where the money should be sent if got very upset because I told him I was going to check him out with the better business bureau.  He refused and hung up. When the lady called she left a rude message on my phone and I recorded all conversations.. These people are scam artist and yes they were Indian and could hardly speak english. So beware of these two people..

I had call from (202)2497657, saying I should or my attorney should return the call ASAP, regarding????? I did call the number but a message in Arabic and then English says it is not a working number.  weird ,  Who are these people.  I am going to report this to the FBI.

The called me saying I had a loan.in may 16 2012 I never payed. Which I called my loan company they said they never go threw different company's that day had payed off.the loan.  I had this happened to me.before. I had my boyfriend dad say I was his wife and that he said I already payed of my.loan he started to swearing at him saying that I was going to be locked up for years w no bail.. he was mean and unpleasant.  He left me a voice man stating.I was going to be locked up Monday BC my father in law. He called him a f****ng husband.  I want this.to.stop. its very rude and they should be fined for harrassing me.

This person has called my job several times from a variation of numbers with different names, and they are always speaking in threatening manner....the script pretty much says you have 24 hours to get your lawyer or else! I started looking it up because I'm genuinely going to find out if there's a way to press charges!
