We got this same call on our answering machine but ignored it because we are to busy to return calls to people we do not even know. I am very glad we never checked it out. We heard about it on the news & listened to the recorded message again... We have been offered money before from some sweepstakes in London, for Home depot, Sears or Lowes, they didn't even know or tell us definately where the sweepstakes was from. They sent us a big check & told us to deposit it into our bank & then send them some money to process the remainder of the money into our account(with our account number). My husband went to another bank, not our own & opened a new account. Deposited the check & two days later the bank told us that it was not a valid check. we told them we allready new this & then the bank reported it to the federal trade commission.  When the man who we had talked to originally, called us back & wanted us to send him money & also tried assuring us that the check would clear in a couple of days, my husband told him that the check was no good & that he would not send any money to him because he was pulling a scam, the man hung up. HAH! What a DAMB FOOL he was. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO GET MONEY, TO NO ONE!!!  Now we got some lady leaving a message about some call making for $556.00 daily, to work from your own home. These people never stop, do they?    BE VERY CAREFULL

MAN I FEEL SO BAD FOR YOU. WHEN SOMEONE ASKS FOR YOU TO SEND THEM MONEY UPFRONT, THAT IS THE FIRST RED FLAG. THEY ARE GETTING RICH OFF PEOPLE WHO ARE DESPERATE & WANT MONEY. "WHO IN AMERICA DOES NOT WANT MORE MONEY"? THAT IS WHY THEY PREY ON PEOPLE LIKE YOU, WHO ARE VULNERABLE. YOU NEED TO REPORT THIS TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. MONEY WAS EXCHANGED BY YOU & THEY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT. PLEASE ANYONE WHO READS THIS, DO NOT SEND MONEY TO ANYONE YOU DO NOT KNOW. SOMETIMES THESE PEOPLE CALL FROM OTHER COUNTRIES & WILLING PEOPLE SEND MONEY TO THEM, THINKING THEY WILL GET RICHER. ALL THAT HAPPENS TO THESE POOR SOULS LIKE YOU IS, YOU ACTUALLY GET POORER BECAUSE NOW YOUR OUT OF THE MONEY YOU SENT THEM & YOU WILL NEVER GET IT BACK. "GOD BLESS AMERICA & ALL HONEST PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE".

I received a phone call on June 29th stating that the government was giving out money in my area this week only and to go to the website "myfedmoney.com" in order to see if I qualified for up to 2500 dollars and that there would be no other notification received for this opportunity, and yes since my household has fallen on hard times I too went to the website to see if this was true and I to was directed to the goggle search page. Always skeptical of any money that is supposed to be free from the government always seem to have an attachment.  And yes I feel that something should be done to stop callers such as this one if at all possible.

For those who believe we should all begin to pray and believe that God's protection covers anyone who may fall victim to these callers.

I received a call from Alan Freidman on June 29th at 2:30 P.M. He left a message on my phone. I could really use the money, but after reading all the above comments, I believe that this is a scam. I find it really sad that there are people out there that would use a financial crisis to take advantage of people that really need the money. Karma will get this man.

I received the same message on June29th. I'm glad someone has already flagged this website to let people know it is a fake. People will do anything now to scam people out of their money, but they must realize that they are going to reap what they sow! The economy is bad enough and you have these crooks out here trying to get over!

I too got a call and knew right away it was a scam. My concern is for the elderly who would answer back and make a horrible decision to partake of the "free money" The elderly are more trusting since they grew up in an era where your word or handshake was your bond. Are these people being reported to any government agency? They are the lowest of the low preying on people who are desperate for any help. There is a place for them in the lowest relms of hell.

I got a call yesterday that I missed and just heard the message left a little while ago with the first part truncated by the time it took for my outgoing message to be played first, so I didn't hear anyone's name. The number that called me was 202-280-2393, but my websearch led me to this page and with so much similarity I think it's obvious that it's the same thing.

The first thing that threw me off was that the website was a ".com" website instead of a ".gov" website. Legitimate websites with the government are always ".gov", not ".com" Does anyone remember when the Clintons were in office and www.whitehouse ".com" was around? Since then (if it's even still around) it toned itself down quite a bit, but those that remember it know exactly what I'm talking about.

Then when I typed in the website on my Firefox browser it took me to Google. So I typed in the website in the Google search. This forum was one of the sites I clicked on in my search.

The guy "Dave Smith" was either BSing to try to wake up those that had their doubts, or if he was serious is a real schmuck. As I read his post, I could tell automatically that the guy got scammed long before he mentioned sending $200.

Here's a quick guide to avoid scams:

If anyone contacts you out of the blue whether by telephone, e-mail, or U.S. Postal Service telling you that you will receive money if you send them money - IT'S A SCAM! That includes when they want you to cash bank checks or money orders or traveler's checks and then send them "part" of the money by Western Union and for you to "keep" the rest.

Legitimate sources of anything DO NOT require you to make payments first before receiving your own payment.

Thanks to everyone that posted here. I will no longer look for this website.
