I just received a call from these people.  The caller said he obtained my information from Careerbuilder and wanted to know if I was still looking for a job.  He said that he needed to know my location to know which job he could offer me.  I gave him my location, and he said that he could offer me a sales job with AT&T.  I told him that I am not looking for sales jobs.

It sounded like he was calling from a large noisy call-center.  I asked him not to call me again.

A word of advice:  When you post on Careerbuilder or other job sites - only use a generic email address as the contact info.  I typically register my name as "confidential confidential" and my phone number as "000-000-0000"  Then I only give out my "job hunting email address," which is a secret address I only use for job hunting and I have the mail from the address forwarded to my real email address.

I was shocked these people had my real name and contact info, but then I realized that I uploaded the wrong resume - it had my full contact info on it, instead of just the "job hunting email address."

I did one better than simply answer the call, I actually showed up for the interview~ and even did a day of observation with the company.  Coincidentally today is supposed to be my very first day, but after coming to my senses I've decided to pass on the opportunity.

The call: Just like described the person on the phone was calling from a busy call center and after asking a few general questions, he then congratulated me on "getting the job".  That immediately sent a red flag my way..lol  He told me to bring two forms of I.D then gave me the address to a business office in New York.

First day: So I arrive and in the empty huge office there are about 60 other people.  The lady running the interview introduces herself and then right there in front of everyone conducts a 20-second interview going from person to person inquirign as to why you think you would be a good fit.  Nevermind that everyone is confused and doesn't even really know what the job entails.  When it's all said and done she announces she will call later to let you know if they are interested.  Then you will do a full day observations to see if this is a job you can see yourself doing.

Day of Observation:  The guy I was sent out with couldn't wait to tell me how much he hated the company.  He went on about how they lie, refuse to pay you what's owed, and explained that no matter what they tell you, the job is 100% commission.  He said don't bother being sick for a week~ you won't get paid.  During the day he caught the subway to Brooklyn and started going up and down the street from business to business.  "I'm your local Verizon rep and we've been told that due to unauthorized calls on your bill we've been approved to offer you a discount to keep you as a customer".  That was his sales pitch and his reply time after time was, "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, Yes"  After a full six hours of work he did finally get a sale for $130.00.

Decision: It IS a real company.  It is 100% commission.  They do offer benefits.  But it's definitely not a job for most people, not even most sales people.  Make your own decision, but me personally, I'm going to politely pass.

I have received this number a few times on my cell phone this week and last week. At one point, they rang me at 10:30 at night! I answered the call this time, and a man asked to speak to me. He sounded like he was calling from a busy call centre somewhere in the Middle East (i'm not trying to offend anyone... please accept my apologies... he sounded Middle Eastern). He said he saw my "resumeh" on hotjobs and wanted to know if I was still looking for a job. I didn't tell him right away who I was. he just kept asking for me and saying he's calling from TIG. Or T something G, a recruitment agency. I asked where he was located, after "confirming" my first name. He said in Washington. So, I asked 'It's a recruitment agency?" and he said yes, in Washington. I told him I'm not interested and to stop calling me, because he's called before. He said this was the first time we've spoken and he's called; I replied that the number keeps coming up on my caller ID. and I hung up.

I found this when I searched with google.  AOL brings up different results..

FRAUDULENT COMPANY

Complaint Rating:
Company information:
TRG FIELD SOLUTIONS
1099 WALL STREET
Lyndhurst, New Jersey
United States

They promise you 300 a week base salary + commission for every Verizon Triple PLay you sell. They also offer an additional 300 dollars for every 5 triple plays that are sold. The company itself is a waste of time to work for. They had no clue I was coming in for an interview. They are extremely unorganized and not well managed. During my interview, the "manager" told me that the position was 100 percent strictly commission based and that I will be having to drive to a territory knocking on people's doors that don't even want to be bothered. This job is bogus and if you have a college degree like myself, don't bother showing up when they call you for an interview. Stay home.

They called me during school and my phone was buzzing more than it should...so after school I checked the voice mail and it was some guy...he sounded american and stated he was from some company (I couldn't really hear him) so I thought it might be a job involving acting...so I called the # back that the guy left (even though he called from a private #, and still left his #) and another guy answers and I tell him I'm looking for a Mr. Tom Page...the guy says hold on a transfers me to a voicemail which I leave for this "mr page" its kind of funny b/c you all say its probably from career builder and stuff...I don't even have an accound on there! This is the first time but if it happens again...I'll probably be seeking some sort of legal actions

Do they start the call by insisting you "confirm your birth date"?  I keep getting calls from a foreign woman who has my name, says she is from (I think) "I.O.C.C.A. Resource Group", then refuses to give me ANY other info until I confirm my birth date.  I have told her I don't give out personal info unless I make the call myself, that I am on the do not call list, and that if she calls again I will call the police, but she's just a broken record, "none of this would be necessary if you will just confirm your birth date."  I agree with you, Lisa, if they want my business, they should be jumping all over themselves to tell a willing listener why they are calling.

I worked for TRG in WV (they had/have a Verizon FiOS contract).  That place is absolutely insane.  The benefits?  Hah!  You're better off just saving your money & going to the doctor yourself.  My SO did not get paid for the 1st week out on the floor because his ID was screwed up.  It took him over a month to get that week's pay.  My first paycheck just disappeared.  THAT took almost 2 weeks to get.

You are constantly screamed at by supervisors who expect that you know EVERYTHING about the service.  Nevermind that their training was a joke!  I would GLADLY go through the training again, it was completely worthless.  $11 an hour for doing absolutely nothing?  Sure!!!  They instilled fear in their employees.  Everyday it was "OMG, we are about to lose the contract because we suck.  We will be out of jobs!!!"  They suspended one guy for doing something that he was NEVER told in training or the few weeks out on the floor.  He simply gave the password to a family member of an account holder.

I will probably work at McDonald's before I will EVER go back to that god forsaken place!

It's TRG Staffing/Field Solutions. I emailed them telling them I'm not interested, as well as corrected them on how to pronounce my name. Looks like someone didn't have Hooked on Phonics. If you can't pronounce my name right, you probably don't have what I want anyway. Since when did Cassie and Casey have the same phonetic value? I just find things like that unprofessional.
