ID: OUT OF AREA An Indian sounding man called and said he was from the U.S. ****Grant Dept. He said that I had been selected for grants because I paid my taxes. I told him that I knew he was a fraud because this was a common scam and that?s not how grants work. I also told him that he had called me illegally and not to call me again. He kept trying to talk and got personal so I just put the phone down.

Thanks for the manager's #. I called and told the manager about Punjab Pete's call and told him that am employee that rude and vulgar should be disciplined/fired and sent back to the homeland. If it continues, I told him I would make sure his company would be closed down.

Got the same call from 'Punjab Pete' and flipped the conversation on him. Asked if he was one of three IT people from my last job. Gungha Din identifies himself as 'Officer' Bollywood, so I go all tangential and tell the 'officer' that I paid the ticket over and over until Taj Mahal is reduced to screaming 'faux queu bish' over and over. I screamed 'you wish' as Apu was hanging up to go back to the kwik-e-mart.
I'm here all week folks. Tip your servers well!

No one here can do that for you, Just block the number for a start. Do realize that many numbers are spoofed and that they have used and abused real people's phone numbers and business's to do so. The man may not have been lying to you on that and may be another victim of those really doing the calling.

I was at the grocery store when I received a call from the first number (202)304-810, I don't remember what his name was because i could hardly understand him, he spoke with a heavy Indian accent. He said only my first name and told me I have been one of the few chosen by the government to win $7,000. When i asked why, he simply explained that the government does this every year to random individuals, they did not know that I had moved states because he said the wrong one when he tried to tell me where the money would be sent. I asked for his supervisor or someone i could speak to, to get more information before I paid the $110 they were asking for. They didn't know where i lived or even how old I was which immediately threw a red flag since they should have all this info if they were actually from the government. He gave me his "supervisors" number to call to get more information (202)559-7936; I called and this man had less of an accent but took forever to get my info when he entered in the code i received for the other man (NH486). Something was defiantly up! i asked how long I had until I could pay this fee they were demanding and he ask how long I needed. I told him a week, so he said i have a week to call back with this money or the grant is canceled. This literary happen like 10 min ago i have yet to give them a call. I'm thinking of what i should say.... Any Ideas???

The caller calls and uses profanity language; knows my full name, address etc. I wish somebody does something to stop callers like this guy or put him jail.

I've been on the receiving end of 7 calls from these critters, just in the last 3 days. It's blocked, but it still shows up as a missed called in my cell phone call log. Sometimes it shows as 1 202-304-8101, out of DC, and the other times it shows as +20 2 3048101, out of Egypt.
One of these times, I'm going to take them off block and answer the phone. "Federal Bureau of Investigations, Cyber Crimes Division." Or something similar.
Or maybe the old standby, "It's done, there's blood everywhere, and you better send the rest of the money you owe me, or you're next."

He told me that he was from the us dept and was letting me know that I could get a loan from the U.S. I told him I did not was a loan and wanted my name off his list he told me no. I let him know that this was a scam and wanted him not to call. He kept on telling me that I need this loan, while he was still talking I hung up on him.

See if your phone has call blocking built in, if not, you may be able to download a free blocking program. This doesn't work for all phones though, it depends on what it is. Your friends best bet would be to get a phone for the child that has blocking capabilities.
To report the fraud, go here:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html
Their number is listed , along with an email address, at the top of the page.

The Asian man stated my name and address. Said that he was from the Government Grants and that I could pick up my $7,000. from the local CVS store. Just call my supervisor Mr. Edward Cole @ 206-201-2083 and he will release the funds for pick up. None of the phone numbers are call back #s. Please FBI investigate and get these people out of business with the scams. They are making the government look bad and tricking all people.

Today I got a call from 2023048101. I didn't answer it. I wish I wouldn't get this type of calls.
| Withheld 2014-04-29 23:15:28 Unknown |
I received several calls which I did not answer. Later when I answered one, they were silent. Last time, he offered me a "grant" and told him to stop calling. He said No, I love you, I want you, I need you, I miss you. He knew my name. I told him I would be reporting him to the police.

Sounds like the caller is from India, Said his name was Eric, I asked what company he was calling for, said he was calling for the United States Government. Told him the United States Government does not call people. He said then why ask me who I am calling for. Said to quite calling me and to delete my number. They call every day and I am tried of these spam calls.

Sure. Join us on the next bus to India. Because that's where the calls are coming from - Asia. Bus takes a while. Rest stops are terrible! They do have an in bus movie "The Poseidon Adventure". Lots of stars. . . nobody big.

I keep getting calls from (203) 304-8101. I do not answer numbers I do not know. This is the thrid times I have received odd phone numbers. The second time I downloaded Call Blocker app on my phone. After the first phone call from this number I black listed the number. My phone does not ring when they call. You would think they would stop trying to call my phone. However, they keep trying to get through.
