Don't even have a capital one credit card.  Never did.  Only a complete fool would sign up for those credit card terms.  /  This phone number 2023679027 keeps calling asking for some lady.  Today I blew up and called the lady a whr and slt and cksckng btch.  Hopefully they won't call back.  I'm buying an airhorn for the next time they call back.  I'm going to whisper real quiet so they have to turn up their earset volume.  Then I'm going to hit them with an air horn.  Damnded collectors can't even call the right number.  STOP CALLING ME!!!  STOP CALLING ME!!!!  Idiots who subscribe to capital one credit cards are apparently the reason this lady calls me.  Drop your big bank credit cards and use the credit union.

This number calls me six to seven times a day. Sometimes when I answer there is no one there. Sometimes just a recording that is meaningless in that I have no outstanding debts. NONE. I owe no one NOTHING. Argghh! Please stop.

Send them a letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested demanding they stop calling you at work and communicate with you by USPS mail only. This is your right under the FDCPA. If they continue calling after you have proof they received your letter, you can sue them for $1,000 per violation.

I just received a call from them as well. I stayed on the line for several minutes as the automated voice kept telling me that they were trying to connect me. It ended up saying that they would try back so I called them and spoke to one of the rudest people ever. I am in the process of bankruptcy but she told me that unless I give them my SS# and address that they cannot tell me why they are calling. I told her that they have been notified of my bankruptcy and that they can no longer call me and she said she didn't care.

I receive a call from this number at least 3 times a day. Very annoying!!! I've never dealt with this company. I've never had a capital one card period. At this point I feel I'm being harrassed. After telling these people this and for them to remove my name and number from their call list. The calls continue, so at this point I plan to take action for starters filing harrassment charges.

These people are beyond pathetic. I don't understand how a company can remain in business while continuing to break the law themselves. Doesn't matter where you live, the law  is the law and you can't do the kind of things this company does. Does it take a major lawsuit to get this to stop? If so, sign me up.

The fun and easy way to harass them back is to use youmail. www.youmail.com - you can give the any one of thousands of messages - from telling them that their call has been outsourced to India... to telling them that they need to deposit 5 cents for the call to go through. It's hysterical and it works. The call won't even come to your cell phone. If you owe predatory lenders money, NEVER answer your phone unless you know who it is. Every number that calls my cell phone gets identified and even if there are 100 numbers for the same company, I add them all so whenever they call, I know who they are. I have a friend of mine who when they call him, he asks them what they're wearing... in a whisper. And then just sits there are breathes into the phone. Too funny. PLUS - if you don't answer the phone, they will eventually stop calling after about 60 days. You just have to be more patient than they are. I, for one, don't care who calls my phone. Let them call! I don't have to answer it - and neither do you. There is a little button on the side of your phone that sends callers directly to voicemail. Also, NEVER say your name or your number on your voicemail so they will be unsure if it is actually your number. There are all kinds of ways to twart them - so just be creative. I know it's hard when you're having financial difficulties and you want to do the right thing - but sometimes you just can't pay.

You don't have to change your #-get a call-blocker instead. The ones for your landline are available from service providers for a few dollars a month. If they are calling your cellphone and you have one that runs apps, you might already have several free ones to choose from. Look on your screen for an app market icon, open it and see what is available. Just open the app by touching it, enter the number(s) of your annoying caller(s), and follow the prompts. For all other cellphones, contact your provider or check your owner's manual for further information.

Our company has been receiving no less than 10 calls per day (hang up calls) from 202-367-9027.  Very annoying and frustrating.  Not sure who they are calling for, but wish they would pull their heads out of their butt and quit it.

I keep on getting calls from (202)367-9027, myself. I NEVER answer calls that I do not recognize. Like most of you here, I have bill collectors hassling me before I wake up, until 9:30PM at night. I even got calls last Thanksgiving & Christmas Days!! Now, that is pushing it too far!!! What I do, is turn off my ringer, until Iam fully awake. I have no answering machine and refuse to use the "voice mail" system. That way they can't say that they left me any messages. I also have a block on my phone, where callers have to enter their 10 digit numbers, which by the way..really pisses them off. With the "depression" we are all in right now, these bill collectors are persistant. I had 2 of them get really nasty with me. One guy was a representative, (and he passed me to his supervisor) and he was so mean to me, that he made me cry after I'd hung up on him. Since that terrible experience, I no longer answer their calls. Last night, a Mr.John Kelly let my phone ring about 30 times. Noticing the name, I pressed my "mute" button on my telephone, and let him ring to his hearts delight...while I watched the red ring signal go on and off.

I'm in the same boat - WAMU has hired IC Systems. This is what you do: send them a letter certified WITH A RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam:
This will serve as your legal notice under provisions of federal law, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), to cease all communication with me in regard to the debt referenced above. If you fail to heed this notice, I will file a formal complaint against you with the Federal Trade Commission who is responsible for enforcement, the States Attorney General office and/or the American Collectors Association or local State Bar Association.
I/We have decided that we do not desire to work with a collection agency under any circumstances. I/We will contact the original creditor to resolve this matter directly, as circumstances warrant.  Also, please be aware that we intend to file for protection under Bankruptcy.  You will receive notice at that time, we are in the process of preparing our paperwork.
You are also notified that should any adverse information be placed against my/our credit reports as a result of this notice that appropriate actions will be taken. Give this very important matter the attention it deserves.

owe 2500.00 they have it raised to 3500 with interest and fees.

Will not even talk about a settlement--they say I have to get my card current!!!
What a joke!!!

I explained I had 800.00, and they tried to make me feel bad for not wanting to pay more. I laughed!!!

I am trying to hold on to my house and car and still make small payments to my other credit cards(who have been more than willing to work with me and not close my line of credit) so I told IC systems to piss off---call me when they want 800 dollars. At some point, that offer is going to look real good

IC Systems? They have found their way to the new number (which is changing anyway), I see.

As one who is caregiver to a critically ill cardiac patient (husband) AND laid off - the only income long gone.  I asked to invoke my payment protection plan I've always held with them, Premier, HBSC, Capital.  For as long as I've held CC's, I paid for that.

And guess what?  NONE would honor it.  Each company found a way NOT to honor it.  The best was "You should have reported and invoked this within 30 days of losing your job."  I was astounded: I said, I still had unemployment, so I tried IN GOOD FAITH to pay my obligations while I could.  Now that UI has run out, I needed help.  Nope - have to cop out and stop paying the second you lose your job.  What twisted logic is this?

With that, the account (WAMU, et. al.) are finding their way to IC Systems, Et. Al.  Even when I ordered accounts closed, the fees accrue!  To which, I told them, "when I get MY bailout can I begin to think about paying you people.  Besides, you already have what I owed this company - the rest are the  obnoxious fees and charges. And Don't even try to threaten the credit - it is in the single digits.  You people got your billions of aid, and I am trying to keep my home from foreclosure.  And for what?  An account w/a balance less than $300?  Consider this call your "drop dead" notice -- do NOT call here again."

And still they try (and then the backlash of their actions is REALLY ugly).  But most these days (with exception of Premier) pretty much just give up the ghost.  Must know by now we are so onto them, have been ripped far too long, are trying to survive and right now only care about the mortage and power bill and NOT any penury action they can take.

Sneaky they are coming out of D.C. and not using an 800 number. Sounds like WAMU itself, but why the IC Systems?  Suspicious in that - they use 800's or private or unknown caller IDs.
