I found how to get rid of this caller - American Institute for Cancer Research. The calls are placed by InfoCision. Contact the Better Business Bureau, Wise Gift Alliance Department, in Washington, D.C. (area code 202) and file a complaint. Explain in detail what is going on, including asking to be taken off the calling list and all telephone numbers used (I know of six). The BBB will then contact AICR and in a week or so you will receive an e-mail telling you that your number has been removed from their calling list. You might also want to read an article about them at http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-12/char ... lemarketer.html.

I don't pick up since my Caller ID displays AICR. They always hang up rather than leave a message. They call all the time ... very obnoxious.

Called every day for 2 1/2 weeks. I ignored it, but knew who it was. Finally picked up. They wanted to talk to my husband. Wouldn't talk to me. I asked them not to call back. They kept calling for another 4 days. Husband took the call one day. Initially he declined, but then agreed. OK, he's a cancer survivor, why not. They CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY (today) and said it was a FOLLOWUP! I told them they'd already called and not to call back and hung up.

Called and didn't leave a message probably because it will cost them to do so by more time on the phone. Ridiculous. Way too many calls like this from other numbers as well. More so this year. Avoiding initial contact using an 800 number due to many on the Do not call list. A company name is suggested on another web site so if you google this number, you can see the company name under that other web site.

This is a phony cancer charity. I got lots of calls from them last year. They keep changing their number to get around call filtering. They want to talk to you, even though they know you don't want to talk to them. They'll pester you until you give up, answer the phone, and tell them to stop. Once they get your ear, their staff of parolees will try to rope you in.
BTW, Debba, never call them back. That's one of their tricks. Why make a long distance call to someone you don't even know.

Just got a call from this number and did not pick up. I did call it back and it went to a recording for the American Institute for Cancer Research.
