Some a-hole telemarketer who said his name is "Jeff Stewart" trying to solicit donations.

They have called the last four work days straight on my home phone. We are on the do not call list. When I pick up, there is no one there. Whoever they are, they just need to stop.

For weeks they have been calling me - this number from the American Lung Association.  Today I called Them, finally got somebody to asnwer a phone when I selected to make a donation, then told them the problem.  The lady immediately agreed to have the calls to my house stop - I had to give her the number.  She said she would remove it from their call list.  We'll see if it actually happens.  This was driving me crazy!  Calling so many times for weeks!!

An annoying group of paid telemarketers SUPPOSEDLY hired by the American Lung Association. Even IF this is a legitimate charity most of the money raised will go into the pockets of the telemarketers, and not to those in need! And on top of that they called on a Sunday morning an didn't even leave a message.

Get two calls daily at exactly the same times.  Mid-morning and early evening.  Caller ID lets me know not to  answer.

Won't stop calling in spite of requests to place on do not call list

There is no "violation" of "DNC List rules". The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A charity is not in sales and is therefore not covered. Here are the DNC service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:

The TSR *does* cover commercial fundraisers like InfoCision, who are responsible for dialing a majority of beggar calls. Like with sales callers, the TSR allows a daily 13 hour call window beginning at 08:00 in your time zone. Only your state law or a notice revoking call permission might overcome this. Otherwise your caps-locked statement of hours is wrong.

Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You will not get compliance with your orders until, if possible, you deliver them *directly* to your caller.

The girl who answered my "WHAT do you want?" tried to so quickly give her name and the NAME OF THE TELEMARKETER SHE WORKS FOR, that i couldn't catch it.  She IMMEDIATELY went into her SCRIPTED SPIEL "on BEHALF OF 'The American Lung Association'."  I STOPPED her and INSISTED on her Name/COMPANY before she went any further.  She AGAIN talked TOO SOFTLY for me to hear when revealing this and started once more on her script.

I stopped her once more and VERY FIRMLY INSISTED on her SLOWLY, LOUDLY and CLEARLY telling me her name.  She stated she was "CARLA PELLAGRINA (or PELLAGRINI) and the name of her TELEMARKETING COMPANY IS "INFOCISION".

I informed her that I am on the DNC List and DID NOT WISH TO BE TELEMARKETED, to which she replied they were 'exempt.'  HOWEVER, when I FIRMLY INSISTED that I had THE RIGHT To DEMAND that even a 'non-profit' NOT TELEMARKET ME, especially if I so INDICATED TO HER, she HAD to take me off the list.
She 'agreed' to do so, but I'm not sure how honest or compliant they will be.  HOWEVER, I NOW have a TELEMARKETING COMPANY NAME to go along with these numbers and I have already put in ANOTHER complaint against this company.

I HAVE donated to ALA in the past - BUT NEVER AGAIN.   I'm pretty sure I INDICATED TO THEM - ON MY CHECK, in fact - THAT THEY WERE **NEVER** TO TELEMARKET ME, EVER, despite that donation.  SO, they have VIOLATED those terms from the beginning and I intend to pursue this further with letters to ALA with a cc to the FTC/FCC.

I got calls from that number (caller ID "ALA") but I do not answer and they never leave a message and they call at anytime after 8am.

After weeks and weeks of this #  calling me... I finally answered it one day and found a live polite person ont the other end... I did not even ask who she represented... I just said  "please take me off your calling list.. and she said she would.   That was yesterday...  then today... I received a call from a completely different number... never saw that one before... different area code, etc...  So I went to the National Do Not Call  registry and re-registered.

This number has been calling every day, now even on the weekends. I actually answered the phone today and there was nobody there. I'd love to speak to a real person, but I don't know if it's possible. We are also on the "Do Not Call" List but it seems nobody pays attention to that.

This is an OLD Scam.  Not only do they ask you to solicit (BUG, GUILT) your neighbors into donating, BUT there is NO GUARANTEE that the money goes to the 'true' (SEMI)Legit organization.

Chances are, it is to be mailed (AT YOUR EXPENSE) to a THIRD PARTY address/organization that then TAKES A CUT - IF NOT THE WHOLE AMOUNT of your supposed 'charity' donation.

ITS A SCAM PEOPLE, playing on people's SYMPATHY, good-heartedness, GUILT, GULLIBILITY and Outright Stupidity.

DON'T ANSWER, DON'T GIVE.

I STRONGLY SUSPECT that these are not 'separate' callers but ONE SOURCE - AN ILLEGAL TELEMARKETER who is using SPOOFED NUMBERS to make it LOOK like 'separate' entities are calling.

If "ALA" is SO LEGIT - are we supposed to believe/ASSUME its the AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION??? then **WHY** would they call with TWO SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT NUMBERS within 14 hours of each other UNLESS THEY WERE TRYING TO CIRCUMVENT THE CALL BLOCKING activity of many of us who are "ON" to these SCHEMES??

ANOTHER Pre-9AM Call.  "ALA" Called yesterday at 6:00PM from a different number: 202-391-0618.  Isn't it funny how a supposedly 'reputable' charity (They're NOT; look them up on Charity Navigator:  Only a "2" rating out of 4 - anything less than a "3" is a FAILING GRADE.) USES TWO DIFFERENT NUMBERS so that, just in case you BLOCKED them from their PREVIOUS CALLS they can still 'get AT you' with another number?

On TOP of this they are VIOLATING the DNC List RULES by calling BEFORE 9AM.  (Allowed call times are NINE (9) AM to EIGHT (8) PM - ONLY.)

SCUMBAGS.  NEVER get another dime out of me.

There is never anyone on the other end of the line... They wake me up in the morning... I'm tired...(and old)  they wake me up when I take a nap... they call when I am busy ... hands wet... arms full of something that has to be put down....etc... no one on the othe end of the line... but calls keep coming from this number.

We keep getting these calls...area codes 202 and they just will not give up.  All day long they keep calling and calling.

I  am happy to report that I am no longer getting phone calls from ALA.  I went to their "contact us" site & asked them to remove my phone #.  It's been a week & no more calls.  Peace & quiet finally.

You are likely to find the calls are placed by a commercial fundraiser, such as Associated Community Services, Dial America, Donor Care Center, Donor Services Group, Harris Direct, Horizon Marketing, InfoCision, Insight Teleservices, MDS, and TeleFund. As commercial entities, these hired call centers are expected to honor an internal no-call list and add any number upon request. Break that order, the FTC declares, and ''the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.'' They are also covered to a point by other regulations for telepests, so you can report abandoned calls, bot calls to mobile phones, and so on.

In a comment from Nov 2012, find the simple steps I took to rid myself of a major pain boiler room by politely rubbing its face in federal laws. You will note that I never rely on verbal cease-communication demands.

A single comment won't cure willful ignorance, but it may help others who come along to read it. There is a smart way to handle every kind of nuisance caller, but first one must unlearn all the dumb methods and assumptions.

Please cite "the law" being "grossly ignored" and describe when in the past few days the FCC took jurisdiction of charity callers away from the FTC. You might get some traction from a call coming eight minutes too early but nothing else in your report indicates a federal violation. "Inforce" is not a valid English word.
