Me too how do they get our info i really applied for grants CAN'T trust anything

They said it was a government grant wanted my creditcard number and knew my address

What disturbs me most about this is they called my unpublished phone and asked for me by name. The two numbers, but same scam, that called are 202-666-2020 and 202-666-6600. I want to know where the leak is, especially because the students at my college who receive these calls began getting them 24 hours after receiving their FAFSA confirmation through their gmail student account. The students who have not received these calls have not filled out their FAFSA yet. In looking up these numbers and reading the posts, it appears there are only two people involved, the calls are made to people from different parts of the U.S. and to people that have different phone carriers. Could these scammers be federal employees or have they hacked gmail? What is the common thread?

totally fell for this, then found these posts, then I decided I was gonna call debra jones(2028083679) about a billion fkn times XD she ignored each and every one. until about 30 minutes of calling her from both my cell and a google voice account, and some guy pretending to be management got on the phone and assured me that my information would be deleted from their databases. needless to say I froze my accounts and reported  my card as stolen. they only had about 4 bucks anyways, but in future if I see weird use on my account im setting up about 20 google voice accounts and going crazy calling each and every one of these bs numbers I can find just for the lulz

Same here the number was 2028083679 the girls name was debra jones lol they said they had 8,400 for me that the money was free i dint have to pay back but that i had to send them 200 dollars lmao yea right when i refused she stoped being profesional all the sudden ...

I got a call from the same number saying I had gotten a grant for 8,400.00. by some woman namedJenny Smith. But I gave her and unvalide prepaid number. I don't know if that was smart. But I didn't have nothing in it and then she told me to contact someone by the name of Erick Cater.

they called saying I won money. They asked for 205 which was my light bill money...now my two year old and I are in the dark...CAN ANYBDY HELP ME REPORT THEM???

I just had and they said the same thing to me and i feel for it..they said 8400 dollars and 250 for donation to the American Red Cross..the was 202-391-0961 i called this guy whos name possibly is eric carter and found This and gave them a call back with him saying that i dont need to call back and its up to me if i want it or not.. please dont fall for it like i have thank you..

i also got the call was just checking to make sure if it was a scam or not. Same here with the $205 dollars through western union to a children's charity.  Good thing the account i gave them cant have anything pulled without a call to me first. thank you.

Oh they called me but the had the right one today.... I got all over them about how they could have that $210 after I got my money. I also said that they must've thought that i was black and ingorant to fall for sucha thing. Like really...both of yall are watching the Maury show in the background but you giving out grant money. You could've at least been watching Matlock, Judge Mathis, or Steve Wilkos i wouldve at least taken you seriously. But dont fall for it it is a scam. I got a call from a 202 number..the lady told me I was approved for federal grant money and that I wouldn't have to pay anything to get it..so I called 202 391 0961 and talked to Erik Carter and was asked to send him 205 dollars..

i received a call from 202-666-7770 and she said that was calling from the goverment that i was awared 820.00 but that they needd a a bank account and then i give her my account later she tell me to call this number 202-391-0961 and that a  man was gonna ask me for this letter but she thell do not share this letter with no body the letter was LK555LK555 later i give that confirmation code to that man and then he tell me that for order to transfer that money that i have to send to a wester union a total of $205 dollars but i tell him that i dont have money i i also said that firts why he dont send me firts the money and he said NO? later he tell me that when i arrived to that store to call him firts and that was on 11/29/2012 at 4:00pm and today  i search in the web about this people and i found this web and i telling you people dont believe them. today at 11/30/2012 like 25 minutes ago i call them i i tell them i I known who they are and that i was gonna call the police and they me screaming we dont care and if i dont want this money dont call us and i said sure i'am not. and thank god that me and my husband that we dont send no money=) me la pelan los batos

I received a call from 202-666-7770 and she said she was calling from the Federal Grant Department and that I was awarded a grant that I did not have to pay back. She said that I was awarded $8400.00 and that it had to be direct deposited to a checking/savings or a debit card account. She said that their office was closing and that I need to call back in the morning to  202-391-0961 ad speak to a Erick Carter and he would release the funds in the morning to my account. She had me repeat the information to her several times to make sure I had the correct confirmation number  JN227 and number to speak to Eric Carter.

Got a call from these numbers:  2023910961 , 2024701409, 2024701406, please be aware of it. They are spam , avoid picking these calls.

yeah I got called from that # said I got picked to get a government grant of 8,400 kept putting me on hold

They called me to his name is Chris Walter said he was from the grant us tresuary and i got approved to receive a grant for 8400 but i got to send 205dollars through western union for a charity in phillipenes to Elvin Oriolo and sent 135dollars but i didnt receive the grant now they said i got to send 240 to receive the grant thats a good thing that i google the number the FBI need to stop them quick and how do i get my 135 dollars back

SCAMS, grr. ! Closed Bank acct. to cover myself. The name they gave me was Chris Walter, 202-391-0961. Government Grants. $8,400.  Blah blah blah.  Approval # RL298.  Wanted $205.00 transfered from Western Union for a childern's charity, When I said no they said " then we will take it from from your acct. " Then he hung up on me. So I went & closed acct before they could. Feel so stupid. RED LIGHT but didn't listen.

i got a call from chris rogers saying ive recieved fed grant money and all i need to do transfer 205 bucks and a bank in new york will deposit my money in 1 hr. this person is soo foriegn and his name is chris rogers... this is a scam . then a dude named mark calls from us bank of NY and asks for more money....this needs to stop! the goverment cant do nothing about this

Some Indian or Middle Eastern Guy called telling me a won free money from the government. If I wanted the money a guy named Chris Walter at 202-391-0961 would b contacting me to release funds to my account in 45 min. I said if I had the money I wouldnt have listened to you lie for 10min. So I just hung up ignoring the call backs!
