If it's not Yonkers, NY, Minneapolis, MN, MOD, or March of Dimes it's now Washington, DC.  I wish they'd all leave me alone.  I do not donate to anything over the phone, never have, never will!  Why can't they understand that we're sick of unsolicited calls.  I'm so irritated I hate them all!

I just got a call from this number. I answered and the caller asked for me by name. Guess I've been giving to the wrong Humane Society too. I told him "I" wasn't home. Hopefully they won't call back and they sure won't get another dime from me.

Another unsolicited phone call from this number.  No company name - it just says Washington, DC on the caller ID.  Someone get these to stop!  I'm sick of these calls!  9:17 this morning.

Caller ID says Washington, DC. Two calls yesterday and another today.  I don't answer, they don't leave a message.  I don't care what they have to say or what they have to sell - I don't do telephone soliciting of any sort and I'm sick of their calls.  Someone has to get these unsolicited calls to stop!!!

Completely correct! These activists chose a name to fool people into thinking that they were the legitimate Humane Society-they are not! They are an extremist organization that performs terrorist actions in the name of animal rights. Don't be fooled by the look- alike name! Pass the word of these dangerous people.

This number now being used by "The Humane Society Of The U.S. which is NOT associated with the official Humane Society we are all familiar with! This is actually PETA, which is a violent animal rights group harboring extremist views and actions--don't be fooled, give to the legitimate Humane Society if you wish to donate.

The caller I talked to was identified as HSUS or Humane Society of the United States.  Caller said we are not looking for a donation although I did contribute earlier this year.  The purpose of the call was to have you send out material to people you know for donations that you collect and submit to them.  I simply said I donate to local shelters and prefer not to do this sort of activity.  I told them I'm retired now and don't do this anymore which is really the truth.  Time will tell whether they will call me again; I hope not.

I've read the same thing.  It's BEST to give to the local humane Socity if you want your
dollars to feed and help animales.

I've gotten this call twice this week.  I have given to the National Humane Socity.  I guess
once they have your addresss to get your phone number they will want more contibutions.

That's the trouble with charities, once you give them a few dollars, they will spend at least
that much trying to get more.  It's best just to pick one or two that you believe in and not
mess with any of the others.

kept getting these calls today i called back the calls were made on behalf of the HSA and if you wish not to recive these calls they promt you to press #1 and your number wil be put on a do not call list -DONE-

Got a call from 202-400-2345.It just said "wireless call".  But I know that all 202 area calls are from Washington DC.
I see from other responders that this # is from: The Humane Society. BEWARE OF THIS ORGANIZATION PEOPLE!!!  They find a way to get your phone # once you ever give, like I did.
The scumbags that run this organization out of the capitol are USING you, and all other animal lovers, to their own gain.  I saw this commercial about it. 99% of the $$$ contributed is being used for these people's to hire lawyers for lobbyists!!
Hardly one percent of that money you give even goes to one single pet shelter!!

I get at least 5 calls PER WEEK from this number.  No ID with the number and whoever it is never leaves a message.

Receive calls at least 3 times per day and into evening.  No leaves a message.  Do not recognize the number so I will not pick up.

This is a scam telling you that you won a lot of money, but you first have to give them the tax money up front and they will deliver the money to you. Don't give them any information.

I received a call from this number at 1:51 p.m. in which the caller asked for "Alice."  The name Alice, actually spelled Allice, happens to be my mother's first name, however she usually goes my either her middle name or another name known to family members which is her nick-name.  The caller identified herself as with the Humane Society of the United States.  However, since my mother has visits my house frequently, stayed at my house while my husband and I were away numerous times, and made numerous phone calls from my home telephone number, it seems likely that this call was some kind of mistake and not the usual telephone harassment.  So, I provided the caller with my mother's phone number which is in Amherst County, VA.  My mother is also active in the Amherst County SPCA.  So possibly, the caller from this number could be making calls for a legitimate purpose.  Beyond this, it is anyone's guess!  I am not a member of the Humane Society.  I tend to sit by the phone, watch grass grow, and report telemarketers.  So far, people like me have not formed their own organization to the best of my knowledge.  I have  yet to put FTC.GOV on computer or telephone electronic speed dial.

got a call from this number, Humane Society , caller ID Washington DC, prob. not a scam, but to call every day and not leave a message, it's just another robocall that will remain unanswered. Find some manners.

This call came at 8:14 a.m.

Caller ID shows it is a cell phone.  Called 3 times once yesterday, twice today, left no message the 2 times, so picked up the 3rd time and no response, no voice.  I just registered for DO NOT CALL list last month, guess it isn't working on cell phones.  So I called them, and the message said they are with the Humane Society of the US.  

I already agreed to pass out their flyers about helping, donating or adopting pets.

Now I guess I opened pandora's box!!!
