Received a call from 202-402-9999, not the first time. Last time was a few months ago. Older lady asks for EVP's, when asked what it's regarding, she says in a very snotty way that she'll let them know. When asked again what it's regarding, her response is always something like "you're a stupid f*cking b*itch"...."you're a mother f*cking moron"....and then hangs up the phone. Quite entertaining, actually.

I work at a federal agency and got a call from this number - an older woman asking for forms from our federal agency. Our agency provides services to other federal agencies so calls like these are not unusual. What was very unusual, however, was that she would not identify herself, would not state which agency she was from. When I tried to get the type of information from her that would have helped me direct her call, she became very rude and abusive. I stated that I would put her on hold and get a number of someone who could help. While she was on hold, I checked this website and finding that this is probably a scam, reported her to the FBI who is will assist in following up on this call.

Just received a call at work from this number. Caller ID showed WITS2001. Lady (as reported in other complaints she sounded 40 - 50 or so) wanted to talk to someone about one of our products (we sell cleaning products). I asked her which company's product (we have 5 different businesses under 1 umbrella) and she wanted the one that sells thru retail stores. She then hatefully asked if she was talking to the right department. Told her no but I was going to transfer her to someone who handled our consumer relations. I also offered to give her the direct number so when I started giving her the phone number, she said NO! YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO TRANSFER ME TO A PERSON! I DON'T WANT TO BE TRANSFERRED TO A FACTORY (something - I couldn't understand her ranting). I told her that the toll free number was the only one I had. She yelled at me again, "YOU ARE STUPID!" ... uh, yeah, I hung up.

Just recieved a call from this number telling my Husband Daniel that he had been approved for an 8,400 dollar grant. He had to call another person who identified himself as Officer Aaron Stone with the Dept of treasurery. All he had to do was send 210 dollars western union and he would recieve this money from The BANK OF NEW YORK. Weird. We don't know if it was a scam but it sure did sound like it.

Just got a call from this number. The caller(Female, 30-50 y.o.) asked for merchant services. Became agitated and started a profanity laced tirade when I asked her who she was. Clearly a scam.

i just received a call to my business from a lady with this number. She asked who is in charge of fund raising. she gave us the name of one of the owners of a next door business and asked if he was in charge of fund raising. I told her I was just the receptionist and did not know that info. She then asked if I knew if I worked at the company. I asked who she was calling for or from and she said it does not matter. she then asked to speak to someone in charge and when I told her no one was available, she asked for our fax number. after I gave it to her she hung up. I did not realize it until after the call, but it all seemed very strange and we are a business and do not conduct fund raising.

This number called our house and the lady, sounded to be about 45-55 years old, said she was a person from the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. She was looking for someone and she used names that would fit the home owners initials, gave a number to use when calling back, and when I called the number back she said she misdialed. Sounded like a weird explanation. The number in the message did not match the number she originally called from to record the message (caller ID). I have contacted a lawyer to get advice, and I am a member of an identity theft service so I know what steps to take for protection - it is NOT Life Lock services so hopefully I can deal with the problem if one arises. Hopefully, it is a legitimate call, but I have my doubts because there was no reason for this individual to call our number.

Received call from this number, sounded like a 40-50 year old woman, asking when my boss would be back in her office. Used her full name, and then asked for her government email address. I told her I couldnt give that out over the phone. She then got very angry, said something about secret information, and then slammed the phone down. Called back about five minutes later, refused to ID herself, said what she thought was the email address, and then bitched me out before slamming the phone again. Callbacks only got that same fast busy signal.
Sounds like a phishing attempt

Yup, got a call from this mystery caller. My customers are in this area code. No voice-mail left, strange. Called the no. back and got fast busy. Phishing or some other lame scam. Why don't these people get real jobs?

I just received a call from this number as well and did not answer it because I was walking away from my desk and didn't want to stop to answer it. I noticed that two rings into the call, they hung up. Thinking it was a client, I attempted to call back but received a fast-busy signal. I'm not going to try to call them again but if they DO reach me in person, I plan on letting them know that the sheer unprofessionalism of their call method is unappreciated and unwanted!!!!!

I had applied for two ALJ positions with two different agencies. Got a call from this number on my cell phone while outside. I had given my cellphone number to at least one of the agencies. A woman on line asked if I was still interested in a position as an ALJ. When I told her "yes", she said they were scheduling second interviews. I told her I was walking outside and said I would call her back when I got to my office. The number was not in service, and calls to both agencies indicated there no second interviews being scheduled, or communications from them. I believe it might have been a phishing attempt.
